Hey ladies! I'm an NYC teacher with two big dogs who don't yet know they'll be forced to share their too-small apartment with our first human child Almost 12 weeks along now (due 12/10), and very excited to be on this journey with all of you! Looking forward to swapping stories, getting out of the first trimester(!), and getting to know some future moms-to-be.
grammergalnyc We have a big dog, 2 cats, and a rabbit who are also going to be rather confused when they have two little human invaders in their home this winter! Welcome to the group!
Im laura, 32, from by and Im pregnant and it's my first....and its twins!!! Totally shocked since they don't run in the family. My original due date was December 23rd but now they are saying the fifth.
@lula922 Hey, I'm Leila and your description is so similar to mine it's kind of creepy! I too am 32, pregnant for the first time, was shocked to discover we're having twins, since it also doesn't run in my family, and my due date is Dec 23! My due date has stayed the same but my doctor said they'll probably be born as much a three weeks early. And I live in CT. Seriously though, that's kind of weird, right?! There's a MoM's (Moms of Multiples) check in that you might want to check out. Welcome!
Hi everyone! I've been lurking for awhile and decided I'd better introduce myself! I'm a FTM due Dec. 1- 13 weeks along (so we'll see if this is a December baby or not)! I'm a librarian (and have already been doing far too much research). It's great to meet you all!
@amiec-2 I am also due 12/21. I'm excited however my SO also shares the same worry about the due date.
My name is Christina and I live in Florida. This is my second pregnancy after a prior loss in October. It's taken me a while to post because of that loss. I'm currently due December 21st. However I'm thinking I will go later. I guess we will just have to wait and see. So far this pregnancy has been completely different. Which we've taken as a good thing. Looking forward to getting to know you lady's better.
@lula922 Aww, I love how the animals can sense it right away! One of our two dogs has been onto me from the start, and he's been extra protective/touchy-feely lately. The other one is still oblivious for now, but oblivious is pretty much his MO, lol. We're convinced he'll just be shocked (but pleasantly surprised) when there's a tiny little human who keeps dropping Cheerios and other delicious scraps for him to pick up
Thanks, @leilagphillips! From your intro, it sounds like your house is about to get a lot fuller very soon! Give those animals lots of pets and enjoy the (relative) quiet while you still can!
@blueskies17 Good to *meet* another NYC mom-to-be! You'll have to tell me what things are like one day in the future, lol. And let's keep our fingers crossed for a not too hot/humid summer!!
I'm an engineer from WA. I am 33 years old and a FTM. Due on 12/22 so I am 10 weeks. The first trimester has been rather hard. Since I have not announced at work, I have had to excuse myself in the middle of meetings to throw up. Lol. I am hoping the 2nd tri is better.
@cbuss-2 and @lavashiner I've wanted to be a librarian since I was a little girl. Life got in the way and now I'm a SAHM going on baby number two, but DH says I should still pursue it for when the kids are in school. I'd love to pick your brains some time!
Hi everyone! I'm 35 and live in Austin, TX but we will shortly be relocating to LA in a few months. After trying for a year and a half, I am so happy to be pregnant again, due December 19th.
Hi ladies! I'm Des, 31. I'm a FTM, due 12/4. We got our BFP the day we signed the paperwork to start IUI's, couldn't have been more shocked and excited! I still didn't really believe it until I heard the little heartbeat at 10 weeks. Can't wait to meet my little bean!
Hi ladies! I've been lurking for awhile...honestly waiting for the other shoe to drop but I'm trying to stop doing that and be positive! My name is Alisha just turned 31 a few days ago and I am from Central FL EDD Dec 31 but doc says it will be at 37 or 38 weeks because of my high blood pressure. So I'm 9 weeks and this is my first pregnancy BFP April 21 because this was super planned and I was watching aunt flo like a hawk haha
Late intro here. I'm 9 weeks, 2 days, with EDD Jan 2, but I know that's going to be moved up to December because I have twins! So I've been hanging out in the Jan BMC, but I think I'll hang out here too (I'll call it being "bi-monthly"), if that's ok.
I got my BFP on my 40th birthday, 4/26, after a two year infertility journey. My ovaries are shot, but my wife's are great, so I'm carrying her babies!
The two butterbeans share a gestational sac, so we know they'll be identical. This morning, we saw a membrane between them, so (whew!) no risk of monoamniotic fears. They're mo/di, so this is still a high risk pregnancy, but nowhere near the risks that mo/mo poses.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
I'm also 40, and I don't think I've seen anyone else mention a female partner or wife yet, so maybe we're the only 2 here? If I go to term, I'll be 41 when I give birth since my birthday's in November.
That's so cool you used her eggs and you're carrying! Oh, and twins!!!!
We have a legal agreement with a fabulous local friend's partner who was the sperm donor, and I like to say that we conceived the "old fashioned lesbian way." It was a kind of long, but really nice process to go through and discuss all of the different "what if's", and our lawyer is a GLBTQ law specialist in our state.
It was my first time TTC, so I really had no idea if it was possible, but here we are!
___ Due date 12/9 I can't figure out the pregnancy countdown tickers, but I do know how to make a signature! #40andpregnant
As of 12/15/2017, my new hashtag is #41 and pregnant!
@collectiveliving That's amazing that you succeeded your first time TTC!!!
I'm a lawyer, so I drafted our contract with our known sperm donor, but we'll use a lawyer I know to take some steps to establish our legal parental rights (being married establishes some rights, but I want a court order, in case we travel). I think I'll actually have to be the one to file for second parent adoption, since my wife is the genetic mother. Which is nuts.
Glad to meet you!

@KLake42 congrats on twins! There are quite a few expecting them in the group (and a couple with triplets!) and myself and a few others that have twins. Stop on by the Mom's of Multiples check in, lots of fun stuff going on there. Also my boys are mono/di twins too!
@KLake42- Glad to meet you too. And for sure, we are so grateful we were able to conceive this way.
That's great that you're a lawyer! And wild that you'll be the one to file for 2nd parent adoption even though you're carrying the child.
I am definitely so so grateful that we are able to be legally married, which as you said does establish some of the rights.
We are married as well, but will my wife will do a 2nd parent adoption and at that time the donor will sign away his rights formally though he already has in the agreement. I'll talk with our lawyer about the court order as well, hadn't heard about that, but we definitely want to make sure we're setting things up the best way possible for our growing family.

Hello. My Name is Mia and I am due December 29, 2017 after a FET on April 12th. BFP was via a home pregnancy test 4 days later. Then I waited until my first bloodwork apt on April 22nd which would be 12DPT. BFP. We are super excited and ready to bring our new addition into the world. I am 42 years old and will turn 43 in August. DH is 30.
I'm popping in to say hi. I was once active on the bump back in 2014/2015, but as some of you may know there was a lot of drama here and my entire BMB (July 15) moved to another forum. We were very happy there until recently when new drama caused the entire forum to abandon ship (again). Several other new forums were made, more drama happened, and basically nothing is the same anymore. There is almost no activity in the new December 17 BMB so I'm looking into moving in here.
After some lurking, I'm deciding to join. DH and I are both 35, we live in Northern WV. After struggling for 11 cycles, we got our BFP on 4/7! EDD is 12/17. We are very excited to welcome our first baby.
My EDD is Dec 31st! We'll see if that date holds since with DD (who is 3.5 yrs) she was 2 weeks late.
The transition to motherhood was a hard one for me and I swore that I was one and done. But seeing and hearing my sweet girl say 'I love you' melted my heart enough to go for round 2.
We live in Los Angeles, I work from home, I'm 35 and married to the love of my life (college sweethearts). I love art, reading, baking, music and binging on period films and tv.
Hi everyone, My name is Lucy and I am 26 years old. I live in Texas with my husband and our two sweet little boys (3 & 4). They keep us entertained and busy and I love it. My due date for baby #3 is 12/25 and we are so excited! My oldest son was recently diagnosed with a genetic condition so I am a little bit anxious this time around but happy to have a place for support and encouragagment! Looking forward to getting to know you ladies!
