My dr is out of town for the holiday weekend and so is offering me an induction for tomorrow (I'll be 40+3). I'm 3cm, 50%, -2. Obviously, it's up to me but does anyone have wisdom/ advice to share? How does it feel to have a stranger doctor deliver?
@llenadevida900. The on call doc delivered both of my babies. I liked the first one so much that I actually changed to her practice. Of course I had to go into labor over the weekend so I used on call doc again for this baby. It was fine and I really liked her too, but I totally get you preferring your doc.
@llenadevida900 with my first I had an emergency CS with the on call doctor at a totally different hospital. At first it felt odd being with a complete stranger for a doctor, but it was so quick it was ok.
I lucked out and my doctor happened to be the on call doctor with DS2 and DD. I felt completely at ease with them.
Does anyone have experience with toddler sleep issues after bringing LO home? DS has always been a champion sleeper. He's slept through the night since before he was one and usually sleeps in until at least 7. Since we brought LO home, he's been waking up crying in the middle of the night and waking up for the day at 5am. He's been great during the day and seems to be adjusting really well, so I'm not sure if this is him dealing with all the life changes or something else I should be concerned about.
Both DD and DH are sleeping. This is the first time in 3 weeks I've had some alone time. Never thought I'd be so excited to have time to fold laundry or check email.
H is home today! It's been nice just the 3 of us hanging out. I might even get a nap in today
its been a rough rough week since having Oliver, but things seem to be settling down, or at least I hope they are! Between the ER visit and mixed days/nights we've been exhausted.
Going to to try and be better with both TB and FB I still lurk though and love tit!! Thinking about all of you ladies with inside babies!!! That will be changing so soon!!! Eek very exciting!!

I've had several friends mention this happened to them. I think it eventually worked itself out. DD has started waking at 5:30. Not sure if the related to baby or the fact that it gets light here that early.
We really are dead over here. I had my 40 week appointment today. Still waiting impatiently for this little girl to come out. I've made some progress over the past week (at 3 cm now, 60% effaced). C'mon baby!
@mcvgal I didn't get an exact date, but my doctor said 41 weeks is the tipping point. From what I understand, they would plan on scheduling an induction for shortly after 41 weeks, but that they will let you go to 42 if everything is healthy. So, I think I'd have a bit of say if I wanted to push it as long as possible. I think I'll play that by ear at my next appointment. Considering the pain and uncomfortableness over this past week, the idea of going 2 more weeks sounds awful at the moment, but I'd like to give this little girl as much time as possible before inducing.
It's been hard to keep up with a newborn and a toddler. I do a lot of lurking at night but its hard to type when breastfeeding. Also my phone is always on the dim setting but it's still so bright. I'm sure in a couple weeks the board will pick up a little bit.

I'm living this right now and it sucks!! I can't tell if its teething or baby related, I just know our entire house is exhausted!! Good luck!
@mrsrep123 and @chailife34- In my last BMB, a couple ladies made just a basic FB account to join in. I'm not sure how admins feel, but maybe that's an option so you can join in there?

I figured I'd post this here since the board is so dead and doesn't really matter what thread I use lol I had my 40 week appt today. I'm scheduled for a NST on Tuesday and Friday of next week. On Tuesday I'll schedule my induction on June 5-7th depending on what doctor I want. So I have an end in sight! And if I make it, only three more work days. Idk why but it makes everything seem so much more real!
Due to no more normal daily topics threads right now, I'll put this here . . .
Yes, it's true a lot of May mamas have scattered (b/c of both being preoccupied with LOs and being pulled toward FB) which means the makeup of the people utilizing this board is in flux. I don't mind fresh blood (even if it is a time suck to get to know new people all over again). New faces are fine, and more than welcome. (Especially since some people are only JUST finding this board for the first time. Sure, a lot of us used this forum to share the pregnancy journey together, which was awesome, but I'd imagine another set of folks would be just now be finding this a place to share in the infant/childrearing stages now too.)
So, my UO is: The continual asking "who are you" to every single new face is tiresome. Expecting people to post their introduction to the Intro Yourself thread is probably expecting a lot at this point, especially if someone literally just has one question to pose to the group.
Would new posters receive more responses after having shared info about themselves first? Yes. Would Intros help keep the group cohesive, accountable, and friendly? Yes. Are Intros still a really good idea? Yes! But a requirement for participating? No. I just don't see the benefit in policing the board anymore. Like I said, it's my UO for this week. And it's 3 in the morning and I might feel diff after some shut-eye... and now I'm being paged... again... have a nice weekend, btw, everyone!
@SKZW I totally agree. I feel like there can be a time and place to ask the question, but after about week 16, it is not necessary at all. I could care less if someone doesn't intro as long as I learn about them by them being open. Maybe I've been spoiled here, but I do feel like our group isn't horrible with this luckily. Some boards are downright bullies on the topic.
I disagree and will continue to ask who these folks are. You don't have to intro on the intro thread. But you also don't want into a room of strangers and loudly ask a question and demand support. Newbs are completely welcome to post a new thread for new thread topics and intro themselves in the process. If a newb has a question related to a topic that already has its own lentghty and well established thread, just like a regular, no new thread is needed. This is why a lot of regs jump ship to fb. No one wants to hang out with a bunch of strangers who ask one-off questions demanding support but don't join in on the regular board community. I think we've had one random/drive by who actually stuck around to offer support in other threads in the last few months. I'd rather not serve as anyone's personal Google. No shame in my Bump snark game, this isn't Babycenter.
Anyone else experiencing a growth spurt right now? DS2 will be 3 weeks tomorrow and since yesterday, he has been eating/snacking every hour and cries "red rum" when he's put down. (Now I feel like watching The Shining, lol.)
