Good morning @Avrilmai ! How are you feeling today?
Month/Cycle: 1/1
CD: 8
WAYDTGKU: Tracking cycle, vitamins
R/R: I'm too tired to have rants or raves other than I wish I could get coffee in an IV. I'm basically Lorelei this week.
CS/Q: I actually do have a question! I'm not temping yet because of the craziness that is May and June, I figured the temps would be all over the place. So my question is would FF still be worth the effort? I currently use a really simple app called Pink Pad to keep track of basics. I'll likely start temping mid-June when things settle down.
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy?
I like old school scrap booking, gardening, yoga, reading, and anything home improvement related. My FI nearly killed me the first few months of home ownership. I dove head first into a DIY kitchen reno.
R/R Work is stressing me out. We have three major events coming up in the next three weeks and I am freaking out. Plus this mornings grad post - I just want to go home and lay in bed all day. On the flip side, I made an appointment with my OBGYN to discuss next steps - June 9 get here now!
CSQ
GTKY Right now my hobby is working out lol. But I love to read. I'd much rather read than watch TV. And I love reading books, not a Kindle or Nook. I'm sure I'll cave eventually but right now I'm all about s book in my hands
R/R: Been sitting here for about 5 mins trying to figure out what I have to rant /rave about and I got nothing.
CS/Q:nope
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? I love photography and making my pictures into posters and calendars. Others things would be gardening,gaming.hiking.
Good morning- This is my first post here, just intro'd myself on the newbie board yesterday! I want to thank all of the very kind and welcoming ladies who offered tips to getting involved
Month/Cycle: 1/1
CD: 8
WAYDTGKU: PNV, cycle tracking, cm
R/R: my husband is traveling for the next few days so that makes timing a bit more difficult. But it's sunny outside today which is a nice before rain the next few day.
CS/Q:
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy?
I love cooking and drinking wine while I do so. The summer is my favorite because of the time spent outside with the sunshine. Also, toss a good book my way any day.
Good morning ladies! I will probably p&g, but I will try to get back on later as work allows.
@SkilledSailor I don't think FF takes much effort and it will be nice to have all of your info in one places when you start temping. I initially used a different app and regretted it when I had to flip back and forth for comparisons between cycles.
@RVAmom315 sorry work is stressing you out! Why don't our jobs know we can't handle any additional stress when TTC? I'm glad you have an appointment for next steps!
Month/Cycle: 4/5
CD: 2
WAYDTGKU: PNV (when I remember), BBT, CM, and of course HIO as much as possible
R/R: I emailed my PCP yesterday about my spotting (for 5 days before this cycle) and to see if she would recommend progesterone or any initial tests. She said the Dr (she's a PA) doesn't ever prescribe progesterone and that as long as I have signs of ovulation they won't do any testing or help until one year. I know they don't refer to an RE until a year and I didn't expect a full workup or anything but I assumed if you had signs of a problem (shorter LP and frequent spotting) they might at least look into it.
CS/Q: see above. Thoughts? Am I being an AW just by asking? I can take a flaming if you think it's deserved
GTKY: Cuddling with my dogs, Netflix, softball stat girl, and yard work! I also have ton of projects in the house but that will wait until the weather gets cold again.

Month/Cycle: 2/2
CD: 27
WAYDTGKU: Charting using a period App.
R/R: I am currently having renovations done on our house and that is both a rant and a rave.
CS/Q: Hmmm...question would be if anyone here is active in any other boards?
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? I really enjoy cooking and baking. We planted a garden again this year so we will have veggies to make into pickles and sauces later in the summer.

@SkilledSailor lol I always say I need coffee in an IV too. @RVAmom315 I'm sorry you're so stressed but glad you got an appointment and are moving forward. @olive_lane welcome! @MrsMiller8588 it might be a little early to start testing but maybe you could go for a normal Pap smear/check up if you're due? I saw my midwife for a checkup around 8 months into trying and she said everything was normal and to call her once I hit a year of trying. @heatherdubrow I hope your migraine goes away, those are the worst.
Month/Cycle: 18/18

WAYDTGKU: Clomid + Ovidrel trigger+ IUI
R/R: I haven't been sleeping well. I don't know if it's the Clomid or just me being anxious.
CS/Q: nope
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? Reading! I read wayyyy more than most people. One year I read about 110 books. I used to write book reviews on my blog but I've slacked off over the past two years.

@SkilledSailor I definitely saw that episode of Fixer Upper! @olive_lane Welcome! @MrsMiller8588 I don't have the spotting/short LP issue, but I had a similar experience with my OB last year. She didn't want to discuss anything I thought was irregular and told me no matter what to wait a year before we talked about TTC again. This annoys me now looking back since I'm now seeing a RE BUT at the same time I think they do that because many people who have this or that that seems irregular still get KU within a year. Hopefully one of the ladies here with the same issue with their LP have more specifics to say to help you! @heatherdubrow Yay for estrogen patches! My mom is obsessed with adult coloring books.
Month/Cycle: 14/12 CD: 43 WAYDTGKU: temping, CM, baby aspirin, folate, etc. R/R: Pretty psyched my dad and SM are visiting later this week/weekend. I don't see my dad very often. I'm still getting to know my SM (they were married in December). I didn't get along with my former SM, and was not so secretly glad they got divorced, but this one seems really cool and she likes wine, so we're going to have some wine and hang out! CS/Q: GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? Hiking, cooking, wine, being super lazy with MH. Nothing special really.
R/R: Hubby is feeling a lot better. Thanks for all of your well-wishes and positive thoughts.
CS/Q: Temp is up this morning and I turned a positive OPK. How much of a temp spike do you need to get your CHs on FF?
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? I love watching movies - it's one of my favorite things to do. Summertime brings the best movies to the theaters and its my favorite time to go!
@shortstack930 Thanks for the feedback. I did just have my annual checkup recently and everything was fine with that. Even at my appointment she made a comment about me spotting still (at CD 9).
@vflux33 I think that's what annoys me is that if I get to a year I will want to see an RE. I assumed (wrongly) that if I was having symptoms prior to a year the OB would at least be able to help with that without having to do any "treatment" which I don't think is necessary yet.
Me: 31 DH: 34 Married: April 2016 TTC December 2016 BFP 2/28/17 // CP 3/1/17 MFI Diagnosis: Aug 2017 BFP 11/1/17 // DS born 6/18 TTC January 2019 BFP 3/21/19 // D&C (MMC) 5/8/19
R/R: A few weeks ago I expected all this craziness from work to calm down, it hasn't. I am running on fumes with it.
CS/Q: not temping yet
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy?
Reading is always top of my list. I miss some of my old hobbies like scuba diving and horseback riding that I have kind of avoided while ttc. Wish I hadn't put them on hold if I knew this process was going to take so long.
@MrsMiller8588 Yeah, I think this is a common policy among OBs. I have mixed feelings about it too. My mom told me I should switch OBs because of it, but I think my OB may have this policy because our HMO wants all their OBs to have this policy (our HMO is notorious for stuff like that). So I don't think getting a second opinion would have made a difference in my case unless I went OOP, which I didn't think was needed at the time. If you're not in a similar situation with your HMO (or even if you are and are willing to go OOP), I guess you could always get a second opinion?
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? I love reading, singing, and swimming. I normally just like to spend time at home with family most nights.
@RVAmom315 Fingers crossed the days fly by to June 9th! And I'm right there with you on the real books vs. kindle issue. I actually had a kindle and switched back because it didn't feel right.
@olive_lane Yes! I want to add drinking wine to my hobbies list as well.
^Me always @MrsMiller8588 Sorry about your unanswered spotting issues. I have no solutions. Just wanted to say having unanswered questions sucks. Especially about TTC.
@shortstack930 110 books?! Holy cow! That's some serious reading!
R/R: So my opks aren't fading very much like they usually do after a positive, so it's possible that the CD13 +opk was a false surge. I guess we'll find out in the next couple days. This morning's opk was almost positive, but not quite. My temps have been confusing FF, but that could be because I've been sleeping like poop, and also doing some drinking at night (ask how many f*cks I give).
I was able to get DH to HIO last night, but he took FOR-EVER to finish. He did finally finish, but I hate it when it's obvious that he's having a hard time getting there, and I don't clue him in on FW at all because of this. If CD13 did end up being the surge, it's likely DH gave me one crappy dose of baby batter. Oh well.
CS/Q:
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? horses, my pets, hiking trails with my dog when they're not overrun with disgusting ticks. Also drinking on patios, wine in general, and eating/cooking good food.

@SkilledSailor just my two cents, but you're probably fine with not using FF if you're not temping. FF has some neat features, but if you want to wait until you're temping to use it I'm sure that's fine. But, @mrsmiller8588 is right that, if you're going to use it eventually anyway, it's nice to have all of your tracking info in one place. Are you using opks?
@RVAmom315 so sorry for the work stress. I hope the next few weeks fly by and that you'll be in smooth sailing before long. Also, yeah that grad sucks. I hope she realizes that TB never forgets.
@vflux33 enjoy the time with your dad and new SM! I hope she turns out to be awesome
@heatherdubrow cheers to the ends of the migraines (hopefully) being in sight!
@ramzlau so sorry work has been draining you. And, I just started back into riding horses. I had sold my horse (for reasons other than TTC) but didn't plan to continue riding or purchase another horse because of TTC. But now I'm like "eff it" and I'm really glad to be back riding even if it is only 1-2x per week. If you have a barn around that gives lessons or has a horse for you to ride, it might be worth looking into.
@holly321 ugh, sorry for the long cycle and provera nausea.
@SkilledSailor must be something in the water, because today is a serious coffee day for me too.
@olive_lane welcome! Cooking, drinking, and reading...are you me?
@akcrrr I used to be on The Knot, but it's blocked at work, so I haven't been on in about two years. So I'm just on The Bump right now.

R/R: so appreciative of you ladies and the support you offered me yesterday. I went to a yoga class and it totally helped to get out of my head. Getting my hair cut today, I always feel refreshed after that.
CS/Q: this cycle is not following the preestablished pattern. A perfect example of regular until not. Oh well.
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? My dogs bring me so much joy. As for hobbies: yoga, reading, binging Netflix. I selfishly asked this question because I was looking for some new ideas! Edit: bc I wasn't done yet

@SkilledSailor (from yesterday) I love the idea of working on photo albums. I have so many photos and empty photo albums. I think I'm going to start on this. (Also, love that Cougar Town gif. I totally relate to their love of wine!)
@Stargazer1lily I'd love to learn more about digital photography. I took some classes in college using a regular SLR camera.
@olive_lane welcome! I hope your time here is short.
@MrsMiller8588 you started a new job correct? How's it going?
@akcrrr welcome back. No other boards for me. I don't think I would be able to keep up with another board and everyone here has been so kind and welcoming.
@ramzlau SCUBA is something I have always wanted to do/get certified in. Sorry you've had to give up so much and that work is draining you. I hope you get a reprieve soon.
@vflux33 I appreciate your insight and feedback from yesterday. Enjoy your time with your dad
@JennyColada today is your Friday? Enjoy your "weekend"
@lund ugh rough sleep throws off my whole week hope you can get some good sleep. Also, drinking on patios sounds like a great way to spend a day/evening.

@Avrilmai Yes! I started the beginning of this month! It's been great and very different in good ways! I'm glad the yoga helped. Have fun with the haircut! Are you doing anything different than your norm?
@lund I should add patio drinking to my list of hobbies this summer! It's such a limited window when it's nice enough and not too windy!
@vflux33 I haven't even looked into my insurance and what they cover for testing or treatments (if it comes to that). I was locked into one hospital/clinic previously but now that I'm on DH's insurance I could check out the other clinic. I will probably wait a couple months before going that route though. I'm probably just getting in my own head and just need to relax

R/R: Meh. My temp plummetted this morning and I was excited because last cycle had a pre-o drop. And I had cramps yesterday and CP/CM both where they should be, and our timing has been so good (for us). But my 1:30pm OPK was negative again. I will take another tonight, but I'm frustrated by it. This is my first month using OPKs and they're really bumming me out. I know I need to be patient, I just thought I'd get that + today. Each cycle off BC 5 months ago has gotten longer and longer and I don't like it.
CS/Q: nah
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy?
I love hiking. We are a fairly small city, but we have some amazing parks and trails and I love getting out and exploring them. Reading fiction also brings me a ton of joy. Sarah Dessen has a new book coming out (Once and for All) in a couple weeks and I'm really looking forward to it. I also really enjoy blogging. I've been remiss on my own blog lately, but I recently did a guest blog series for a friend and had a lot of fun writing that.
@skilledsailor - havent' read responses yet, so someone else has probably answered, but I would say that it could be helpful to still track in FF because FF learns from your past cycles. So even if you are just tracking CM/CP, it would help for future cycle predictions. Especially if you are using OPKs and they'll give you CHs.
@RVAmom315 - why do work things always seem to converge like that?!! I hope you get some time to lay around and read a real book asap.
@stargazer1lily - that's so cool that you take your photos and create somehting more with them. Did you take your profile photo?
@olive_lane - hi! looking forward to getting to know you
@mrsmiller8588 - that's frustrating news from the dr. I don't have any insight, but I know I'd be pursuing my questions if I was tracking consistently and had concerns of a LP defect.
@heatherdubrow - hope you finally get a break from those migraines! I'm with you on the adult coloring books, so relaxing.
@shortstack930 - sorry for the sleep issues, that is the absolute worst
@vflux33 - have a good visit with the fam! wine sounds like a perfect aid to building a good relationship with the new SM (or any relationship tbh).
@ramzlau - I hear you on the work fumes. I hope you can find a way to recharge today or at least on the long weekend.
@holly321 - ugh sorry for the nausea, hopefully it at least does it's trick asap.
@lund - sorry for the bad sleep and fake out OPKs. cheers to all the wine and none of the f*cks!
@jennycolada - yaaasssss MAFS! my DH is super into it this season with me and he is reveling in the drama. (omg if I hear that girl say one more time that she wants a manly man I am going to throw something!)
@avrilmai - glad to hear you were able to find some better headspace I feel the same way about getting my hair cut, maybe you can splurge on a nice product and really treat yo'self!

@MrsMiller8588 I was just reading something on FF's q&A over the weekend about how they recommend talking to your doctor even before that 1-year mark if there are certain things you're seeing, but I can't find the link now. That's really frustrating that you Dr is brushing off your concerns. I'd get a second opinion TBH.

WAYDTGKU: waiting for CH.
R/R: still sick of my job. i get to travel this week, so maybe some new faces will invigorate me again. Altho... seeing a different plant might make me angry that ours is so freaking old and underfunded. Our location seems to be the "black sheep" of the corporate family.
CS/Q: I have yet to get a blazing +OPK. i realized this weekend, that I was checking it too early, that I really DO need to follow directions and wait ~10min. I was really close to a + on saturday afternoon, but then by sunday afternoon it was a neg again. Sounds like I just missed the surge? These OPK's are kind of a pain to use....
GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? Gardening, for sure. Cooking (when my kids are not trying to beat eachother up). Crafting, creating. Teaching my kids things, traveling with them.

@shortstack930 - yesss! I love me some YA. I've been away from reading for awhile, partly bc I got out of the habit when I cut back on my budget and had no room for buying (um library, duh!). But also I've just let life get in the way too much. But Sarah Dessen is YA that I actually started reading as a YA, so it always takes me back in a beautiful way. I do read fantasy and scifi and classics sometimes too, but YA is my favorite.

@elisek Sorry for your cycle confusion. I know some people get their LH surge at different times relative to their actual O-- so maybe yours is closer? I feel you on the long cycles. They're such a drag.
@AliW220 I guess some people have quick surges, but I've noticed for me I get a lot of "almost positives" that are not positive and then like a week later will get a real positive. I tend toward long cycles with patches (like my body tries to O a bunch of times and fails before I actually O). Not saying this is definitely the case for you, but it is possible. Hope you didn't miss your surge!
@MrsMiller8588 glad to hear the new job is going well. As for the haircut, I'm doing the same old thing. I'm super lazy when it comes to my hair. I don't want anything that will require a lot of effort!

RVAmom315 – Ugh…I
WISH my hobby was working out. That’s
the one thing that I know I should be doing, but I can’t seem to get into it
consistently. #jealous
SkilledSailor – We have
SO many home improvement projects that we need to do. I just can’t bring myself to DIY…that’s more
DH’s thing.
Stargazer1lily – Do you
use a special program to make your calendars?
I’m obsessed with calendars (I currently have 6 on my desk at work alone
– not including my phone’s calendars and the ones I have at home, LOL!) and I
would love to start making my own.
heatherdubrow
– I LOVE coloring! It’s super relaxing
to me
akcrrr – I absolutely
love to bake. I love making cakes, but I’m
not the best decorator.
shortstack930 – so sorry
you’re not sleeping well. Anything you
can try to help you relax before bed?
MrsMiller8588 – I was
also going to suggest maybe seeing a specialist versus your PCP. They may be more sensitive to your TTC
concerns. Good luck!
vflux33 – Yay for
family time! FX things work out with you
getting to know your SM better. I
absolutely hated mine and was happy when my dad divorced her, so I’m always
happy to hear when others luck-out with great ones.
ramzlau – FX
work slows down a little for you. Do something nice for yourself in the
meantime.
holly321 – I would
love to start a garden – I have no idea where to begin.
charlestonchew
– Thank you for clarifying! Today is day
1 of an elevated temp for me. FX they
continue on this trend. OAN – family time
at home is one of my favorite things to do, too!
lund - how
long do you continue to test after you’ve O’d?
JennyColada – Yay for
a super long weekend! Tomorrow is my
Friday. Any special plans for the
weekend?
elisek – FX for
a positive OPK for you very, very soon!
AliW220 - FX
that things get better at work. Safe
travels to you!!
@ladybugsamom when I first started TTC I did a couple cycles where I tested from CD10 - CD20 just to get used to interpreting OPKs, and to see if I had multiple surges. Now I generally test CD12 - CD17, or I stop when I see the test line fading significantly. I've personally never recorded multiple surges in a cycle, so I feel ok with this.
lund - I read that some continue to test until the tests turn negative again and then they count that first negative test as 1 DPO. Wondering if I should try that this time, or just continue to base it off of my temps and FF's CHs......
@ladybugsamom I had a horrible SM too! Basically threw a party when the divorce happened. It was one of those 3 year divorces so it was hard on my dad and I'm so glad he found someone new.
As for the OPKs I used to count the 1st negative after a few days of positives as DPO 1, but I think this actually screwed me so I stopped. Either I have a slow progesterone rise/body heat doesn't respond to progesterone right away OR I don't O until longer than average after my first positive OPK because I never get a temp rise right after the positive OPKs stop. May not be the case for you, everyone's different, etc., but thought I'd throw it out there... you could always try one month one way and the next differently. Doesn't really hurt as long as you keep HIO (if YH is up to that yet).
@ladybugsamom I have a book that I want to finish (so that I can start reading some of the pregnancy books I've picked up!). I also want to put together some paper flowers for a little bouquet that I want to make. What about you? Any plans for your "weekend"?
vflux33 This is good to know. I may try it and see what things look like the next few days. I'm concerned because my temps have been wonky and creating a "rocky mountain" on FF despite my best efforts to test at the same time daily and keeping the room temp the same, etc. I'm hoping my temps stay elevated like they're supposed to over the next couple of days.
@AliW220 I will have to look up that article. I am also planning to try some natural ways the lengthen my LP to see if it helps. I don't think she's trying to brush me off, she's a PA and I think she just has very limited experience with any TTC issues. I have a friend in town that struggled with IF so next time I see her I am going to ask for her Dr recommendation.
@Avrilmai I am also lazy with my hair! Wash and go every day! Still fun to go in and get it cut!

GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? I actually just got done raising my first service dog for Canine Companions for Independence. It was such an amazing experience and also heart breaking at the same time. I hopefully can get our next puppy soon (fall?) and start all over again. But, I think I have found my calling. I love it. It brings me complete joy to help others. Oh. And disney. Disney brings me so much joy.
@MrsMiller8588 do you have an OB? Maybe he/she would get it more.
@heatherdubrow how are you feeling? Did the patches work?
@shortstack930 I'm a huge reader too! I have a book blog and I used to get review books all the time. My best year was 162 books. Last year was only 42. Boo

I love cooking and drinking wine while I do so. The summer is my favorite because of the time spent outside with the sunshine. Also, toss a good book my way any day.

@MrsMiller8588 it might be a little early to start testing but maybe you could go for a normal Pap smear/check up if you're due? I saw my midwife for a checkup around 8 months into trying and she said everything was normal and to call her once I hit a year of trying.

@olive_lane Welcome!

GTKY: What are you hobbies? Or what are somethings that bring you joy? I love watching movies - it's one of my favorite things to do. Summertime brings the best movies to the theaters and its my favorite time to go!
@vflux33 I think that's what annoys me is that if I get to a year I will want to see an RE. I assumed (wrongly) that if I was having symptoms prior to a year the OB would at least be able to help with that without having to do any "treatment" which I don't think is necessary yet.

WAYDTGKU: the usual

@shortstack930 holy books batman!

RVAmom315 – Ugh…I WISH my hobby was working out. That’s the one thing that I know I should be doing, but I can’t seem to get into it consistently. #jealous
SkilledSailor – We have SO many home improvement projects that we need to do. I just can’t bring myself to DIY…that’s more DH’s thing.
Stargazer1lily – Do you use a special program to make your calendars? I’m obsessed with calendars (I currently have 6 on my desk at work alone – not including my phone’s calendars and the ones I have at home, LOL!) and I would love to start making my own.
olive_lane – Welcome!
heatherdubrow – I LOVE coloring! It’s super relaxing to me
akcrrr – I absolutely love to bake. I love making cakes, but I’m not the best decorator.
shortstack930 – so sorry you’re not sleeping well. Anything you can try to help you relax before bed?
MrsMiller8588 – I was also going to suggest maybe seeing a specialist versus your PCP. They may be more sensitive to your TTC concerns. Good luck!
vflux33 – Yay for family time! FX things work out with you getting to know your SM better. I absolutely hated mine and was happy when my dad divorced her, so I’m always happy to hear when others luck-out with great ones.
ramzlau – FX work slows down a little for you. Do something nice for yourself in the meantime.
holly321 – I would love to start a garden – I have no idea where to begin.
charlestonchew – Thank you for clarifying! Today is day 1 of an elevated temp for me. FX they continue on this trend. OAN – family time at home is one of my favorite things to do, too!
lund - how long do you continue to test after you’ve O’d?
JennyColada – Yay for a super long weekend! Tomorrow is my Friday. Any special plans for the weekend?
elisek – FX for a positive OPK for you very, very soon!
AliW220 - FX that things get better at work. Safe travels to you!!
