Re: Newbie Intro Thread Week of 5/22
How many months have you been TTC? Just about 4 months
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Temping, opks, trying to bd as much as we can without exhausting ourselves
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) No kids - yet! Currently working a job i don't totally love, and job hunting. Which doesn't exactly help with stress levels!
I'm so excited to officially be here after lurking/reading for a while!
How many months have you been TTC? Just started this month (well...week) but so excited!
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Charting with Shine and stopping BC
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I have a job that I love and am working towards a management position in. We live in a great neighborhood with our two dogs where we have made great friends. My favorite things include cooking and spending time outdoors and I'm really looking forward to my time in this community and graduation to the next (fingers crossed)!
How many months have you been TTC? We haven't been preventing since 12/16 but have been actively TTC #2 since last month
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Charting using a fertility app and OPK
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) Both of us work full time (I am lucky enough to be working from home). We have an almost 2 year old daughter which took us 4 years to conceive and who was born at 25 weeks due to PPROM and my uterus being improperly shaped. Not sure what this TTC journey will bring but looking forward to keeping it moving and hopefully having good news soon. Made tons of friends off this board over the years and look forward to making many more!
DD : 20 months
Married:11/2011
BFP #1 3/13, MC 4/3
BFP #2 5/15 DD born 8/15 (25 weeker born due to PPROM)
Working on growing our family since 3/2017
How many months have you been TTC? I have had my IUD out since September but we haven't been actively trying. We plan to start for real sometime this summer!
What are you doing to get knocked up? At the moment nothing! I track my cycles with FF but only pay attention to CM. I need to get back to temping next cycle.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I am a nurse and my hubby teaches. We have one son who is somehow 4 already! We live in the mountains and love to hike and explore. I love being in the kitchen cooking and a good Netflix binge. We lost our pup of 16 years to cancer in January and have recently started looking for a rescue dog!
In the interest of full disclosure I come from the other place but you need not be afraid lol. My BMB moved over there after the implosion of 2015 here and then eventually we moved to FB. I was on the TTGP board over there but we were never actively TTC because we kept pushing our timeline back and the board was dying a slow death. Then of course as we are ready to TTC another implosion happens! I made an account here a few months ago and finally decided to move over here in light of what is going on over there. I am over the drama and want a more professionally run site!

Ages (you and SO): both 28
How many months have you been TTC? Started last August for 3 months in earnest, took a break from seriously trying from Nov-now. There were probably 3 months of that where we actually had the possibility of getting pregnant so I'm going to say 6/6.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Charting with FF and OPK
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): No kids yet, we love animals, and we are both introverts that love to hang out together at home. We bought a house last year and are slowly fixing it up.
Ages u and SO): I am 30, he is 31.
How many months have you been TTC? 4
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I am starting provera today, and clomid this cycle. I think I am going to chart. I am not sure if I want to though. I am already neurotic as it is, and I think watching for a triphasic chart will only make me worse.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I have two kids. A 6 year old girl and a 4 year old boy. They are great, but both are special needs, so life can get hectic. We have 2 cats ( one is an emotional support animal) a dog and a rabbit. I work part time as an ophthalmology tech. I don't have a ton of hobbies. I love to read, specifically high fantasy sagas.

As you can see maybe see, I'm my no means a newbie to TB -- been a member of TK/TN/TB since 2001, and grew with the community through my first marriage, TTC (for 12 months) and the birth of my first daughter almost 9 years ago, my divorce, a few years of single parent life, a long hiatus from TB, and now that I've remarried and we're TTC #2, I'm coming back to the boards
Anyway, answers to your questions!
Ages (you and SO): DH is 42, I'm (almost) 37.
How many months have you been TTC? 5 months
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Temping, timing, supplements, preseed
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I have an almost 9-year-old daughter from my first marriage. We have two cats. We both work in the marketing field. All three of us are big nerds, e.g. we're into anime, DND, Star Wars, video games, etc.

LOTR was my favorite series (I own the extended edition of all 3 movies) until I read Kushiel's Legacy by Jacqueline Carey. Great series if you've never read it!

Can you give any tips on interacting with the board/members? I've read the tips/start here thread and lurked quite a bit before even posting in this thread initially but still want to be sure to avoid a faux pas! Everyone seems to be so close and jumping in (commenting) seems like rudely interrupting a convo IRL.
Also.. yes, I'm very new to this journey but I'm anticipating a bumpy road based on some medical history. Please do not expect a 1/2 cycle then peace out

- Respect rules on TW, thread usage, etc. If you're not sure, then ask.
- Paticipate in the dailies as much as you can Monday - Friday.
- Participate in the daily and weekly random threads.
- ETA: Lurk on other threads (WTO when you're in the TWW, IF when you're not dx'd, etc.) as much as you can so you can keep up with us.
- Tell us about yourself and what you're going through. We will remember that your cat was sick on Tuesday and ask about it on Wednesday.
- On that note, interact. Try to respond to other posts as much as you can with worth-while things to say. Be a friend and you'll get friends and respect back.
- Don't cry IF if you're not a 1/1 or 2/2 unless a doctor has specifically diagnosed you. You're welcome to ask questions in IF without doing the check-in.
- Actually listen and respect advice when it's given.
- When you get flamed (everyone does eventually) take it with grace. Figure out what happened. Give any necessary apologies, and move on.
- Most importantly, know when it's time to sneak out rather than take center stage for your goodbye.

How many months have you been TTC? About 6.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Went off of BC in December and my first few cycles were wonky. I've just been using OPKs. Went to gyn today and will begin the process of lab work for hormone levels since it's been 6 months and I'm 35.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) No kids - yet! I have 2 sweet cats. I work full time and enjoy shopping, spending time outdoors, cooking (usually lol) and baking.
*TW* Pretty much my entire TTC journey... *TW*
Ages (you and SO): 32 (33 in a few weeks) DH is 36
How many months have you been TTC? Feels like forever… officially with tracking and everything it’s been 21 months I think? Although realistically I’ve been benched for some of that.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Unfortunately I’m benched right now, although I’m still temping and charting some.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I’ve lurked this board on and off the past few years and have seen a lot of changes. But I appreciate the gif game and snark and thought I’d officially intro. I was a part of the weight loss group like a year ago.
My TTC journey has been arduous as you can see from my signature. I’ve been highly active on the TTCAL board. We’ve had 4 losses and am currently benched for a second round of some RPL testing. I think I’ll be back off the bench again in September (or so I hope). DH and I are willing to give this another try, but if no dice on the next PG (or two) we may end up childless not by choice.
I work in Archives and love my job… most days. I enjoy reading, sewing, gardening, baking, watching movies, etc. and I have a fantastic collie named Starlord and 6 chickens.

I have psoriatic arthritis and was diagnosed about six months ago. For those who don't know that that is, it is a type of autoimmune arthritis similar in some ways to rheumatoid arthritis. It's mostly a joint and skin issue, but it also sometimes attacks tendons, ligaments, eyes, major organs and apparently whatever else the F it feels like that day. My husband and I also got married six months ago so our first bit of marriage has been stressful and challenging dealing with my illness and some issues on his part.
We aren't TTC just yet. I have a ways to go before I have my medications works out with the doctor. But I am worried it is going to be a challenging process so I want to get as informed and ready as possible.
Ages (you and SO): 31 and 32
How many months have you been TTC? Not yet. Trying to prepare.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Don't have anything special for this category yet, but I'm going to be pretty type a about charting for awhile beforehand so that I have a better idea of what my body is doing.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.). No kids yet. We've only been married for six months so we are trying to enjoy the newlywed life in between all of our various health issues and obstacles.

How many months have you been TTC? 10 but not really so maybe out of the last 10 we have actually tried 5-6 of the months
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? OPK's, CM. I tried temping once but it just threw me off.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) have a little girl who is just over 2 in half. No pets having a kid is plenty of excitement for me. I work in an office doing lot of spread sheets (fun stuff). Hobbies are watching TV and movies, reading books, musicals, video games. Sort of a nerd and proud of it
I was bad and made my own thread to intro myself. So glad now it seems I'm going down the correct path and glad to get to know everyone.
@Ironring glad you decided to stay!
This community is so great because of new members like you who keep coming in the door, learning the ropes, and contributing all the speshul things you have to offer this community... without you, we'd have no one to pass all these crazy knowledge bombs along to! We hope you will learn as much as we have here and will happily continue to pass onto the next wave of newcomers - snark and all. ;)
Well really, we hope you maybe only learn half the ttc shhh some of us here have had to, and just hurry on up over to enjoying your bmbs ❤
