Re: Symptoms, Questions and Concerns Week of 5/6

  • thanks so much for the advice @tracefacemsu and @acgonzalez22

The past few days I've still been nauseous, but not as terrible as that day a few days ago.
And I am so so happy that I get to work from home tomorrow. :)

I noticed in the ticker changes this week that most people who ticked over to 10 weeks are starting to feel an ease in symptoms.  Like maybe they're still there and just not as severe, or some have gone away?
If you're around 10 weeks now would you say that's how you're feeling?  Any STMs felt like that happened around 10 weeks?

  • @whiska that's def how I'm feeling. week 6-8 for me was pretty consistent with nausea and fatigue, then week 9 was very strong nausea and strong fatigue. Have been feeling loads better lately though now that I'm in week 10. Not sure if it's just a fluke, but it's a noticeable difference.

  • @whiska 11 weeks here. Not sure if I feel better just because or if its the zofran. I am still exhausted though.

Waiting for my Harmony results is giving me anxiety. My RE gave me a paper about trisomy chances due to me being AMA and I'm a nervous wreck. This is going to be a long 7 business days.
  • @AMCsquared I am having all the weird vivid dreams! Ugh. It's leading to insomnia some nights, too.
@acgonzalez22 I'm getting the harmony test on the 23rd. I'm already nervous!

  • I'm at 10 weeks (either today or tomorrow, depending on whether I go by my last period or the ultrasound at 6 weeks) and I've started to slowly feel more human.  For about the last week I feel like it's every 48 hours.  I feel good for two days (and probably overdo it) and then I feel like death for two days.  At 6-8 weeks I just felt awful all the time so I'll take occasionally feeling good over always feeling bad!  I'm hopeful that next week is even better.  With my DD I got sick at lunchtime but it went away fast.  This time around I'm sick for hours and soooooooo tired.  I'm too old for this...

  • Ugh. I was just rear ended by some guy at a stop light. Thankfully, I drive a Subaru. Those things are like tanks - the guys car is totally messed up, but mine is only slightly messed up.
Some police were right there when it happened and calmed me down. I was really shaken up. When I told them I was preggo, the guy was totally freaked out. His wife is 5 months preg.
Anyway, I feel fine. I called my doctor and told them what happened and asked if I should come in. They said no, just watch for cramping, spotting or bleeding. I'm pretty scared now.  I have an Appt Monday, so now I just have to keep my FX and hope nothing bad happens.
  • @breezybee I'm so sorry! I'm glad there was minimal damage to the car, but I know that would worry me as well, even with a doctor's reassurance. Take it easy and Monday will be here soon! <3

And yes my dreams have been sooo vivid and wacky!!! Last night I had a dream that I accidentally kidnapped a baby!! In my dream I was supposed to take the baby back to it's grandmothers house but I forgot the baby in my closet for a week. So I'm freaking out when I find it (somehow the baby is perfectly fine) and I'm yelling at my husband - we need diapers! We need food! We have to tell the parents! And he says "it's too late the police are involved, you'll go to jail. We are just going to have to keep the baby". And then I woke up.

  • I had a dream the other night where my daughter (who is 6) and my son (I assume the baby I am pregnant with??) kept waking us up and jumping on our bed and then a cat found a hole in our screen and jumped in our room and then a whole stream of cats followed.  I think that one just means I feel totally overwhelmed, right??? :)

@whiska definitely! Although to be fair, I haven't experienced a ton of symptoms with this pregnancy so fair. But this week (10 weeks) has definitely been a lot easier! I Also seem to be getting my energy back.
  • 9 weeks tomorrow and my MS has amped up. Haven't kept down ANYTHING since lunch yesterday and that's with taking 4 diclegis a day. I seriously want to cry. I feel so bad for DS. I'm being a terrible mommy right now. (Apparently extra hormonal to symptoms list also..)

@breezybee that's awful! I'm so sorry that happened; must have been so scary.

  • Thanks guys. Waaaaaay more calm now. My doctor reassured me that if anything were to happen, it probably would have happened already. I was just shaken up at first!
  • @breezybee Oh, no, that's scary, I'm sorry that happened to you. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit calmer now.
  • Questionnnn. I have to do my down syndrome blood test at home with a prick kit and mail it away. Anyone else having to do it that way rather than in person?
Also it says that test has to be within a certain time span of my 12 week US.... but bc of my appointment date, the date my gyno wrote down as my pricktest date is off by a few days. Does that matter?

  • @whiska, same thing here. I'm in my 10th week and my nausea has definitely been less frequent. I'm still pretty tired for no reason at all some days and other days I just feel really emotionally sensitive. Also some days I feel like I have a ton of energy and like my normal self again. It all fluctuates. I'm a STM and my boobs haven't hurt this entire pregnancy so far, unlike the previous one.
  • @andipandicWed121369 haha! I had a dream that a whole horde of frogs kept coming in through my windows. I was walking through my house and stepped on some of them and it made and awful squishy sound. Friggen pregnancy dreams are the craziest lol
  • @AMCsquared I have no answer for you on that one. I would call your doctor, or email them and ask their opinion. I bug my doctor all the time now ;)
  • I'm 8 weeks and really no symptoms for me either. After reading these I'm counting my blessings! I sometimes have slight nausea if I'm starving or smell something gross- but nothing to really complain about. I've only really noticed some bloating and vivid dreams. I hope it stays this way as long as possible!
  • @breezybee Car accidents suck!! So glad you're okay! I backed into some guy's van pulling out of my driveway when I was 7-8 months pregnant with DS. I wasn't going fast enough for anything to happen, but I bawled for 3 days straight because I was still shaken up. (And felt like a total idiot.)

I have a random question. Do any of you have fitbits or did you have a previous pregnancy where you wore one? I'm 6w2d and for the past few weeks my resting HR was 82-83+ (normally I'm at 70) and for the past fees days it's started to fall. Yesterday it was at 80 and  as of right now today it's at 79. Is this normal? I've read that your body gets use to all the extra blood pumping and you HR will eventually go down but this early?
  • I've read repeatedly that the heartrate on the fitbit is not reliable so I wouldn't worry too much about it.  If everything else seems normal, I would just keep an eye on it but not worry.

  • vhill74vhill74 member
@andipandicWed121369 thank you! Sometimes you just need to hear it from someone else!
  • @vhill74 I have a Fitbit. I know my heart rate goes up when I'm sick. My heart rate has been up since I got pregnant. I'm not stressing bc I know I'm healthy and my body is doing more work. I'm not sure if or when it'll go back down, but I'm not worried about it.

Hey @vhill74! I was in love with my Fitbit but abandoned it after 7 weeks because the HR data was freaking me out too much! I already have serious pgal anxiety and it wasn't helping, but I thought I'd share my charts with you in case that helps.

4+0 was March 30. You can see mine started mostly tracking down at 5+4 on April 10; my second to last day wearing it was at 7+0 and we had a great ultrasound that day showing a baby measuring right on track with a good heartbeat.  My heart rate tracking down leading up to that scan made me so nervous!!

I know I scoured every pregnancy/Fitbit message board for reassurance but the hard part is everyone's different. Most of the stories I found people said it really fluctuates - made them super nervous for a few weeks and then they would see it go back up.

ETA don't fret about it going up and down a beat or two every day. There are so many things besides pregnancy that can make that happen. Like ovulation charts, you have to wait and maybe you'll see a trend.

  • Does anyone else have symptoms that were there for a week and are now gone? I had morning sickness for almost a week straight but yesterday and today it's eased up a lot. That was sort of my one symptom other than minor cramping so I'm of course worried about it.
  • @mcfeldbb my symptoms are gone. I had a week or week and a half of nausea but it's gone, my boobs aren't as sore. I'm just tired and fatigue easily... aside from that I wonder if I'm even pregnant! I guess, enjoy it while it lasts!
  • @dilbert890 yeah I'm trying to enjoy it rather than stress too much, but of course any google on my symptoms are going away brings up a lot of not fun articles. I've seen the heartbeat already at 6 weeks so everything should be ok.
  • @mcfeldbb totally on the same boat.  @dilbert890 There are times I totally even forget that I'm pregnant. The nausea seems to come back around early evening to before I go to bed. But as long as I keep snacking I'm fine. It was the worst between 6-9 weeks for me so I'm trying to enjoy it with out stressing. Lol also I took my last dose of progesterone this morning, so I'm stoked to see if my symptoms will change and also to just feel pregnancy with out the added hormones is that makes sense? :)
And I am trying to stay as far away from Google as possible  :s
  • @mcfeldbb I had mild morning sickness for a week (around 7/8 weeks) and since then it's just been occasional queasiness for the last two weeks (with a couple of random worse days). I've had two good ultrasounds since the morning sickness left the building. I know it's hard, but try not to worry!
  • vhill74vhill74 member
@whiska thank you thank you thank you!! I think I'll stop wearing mine too, it's just another thing that adds stress. my HR jumped back up to 82 today so I think I'll just leave it on a good note.  B)
  • whiskawhiska member
@vhill74 Good I'm glad it could help!  I was going to add, I'm considering wearing mine again but turning off the HR function -- just so I can start counting steps again.  I've been soooo lazy with first tri fatigue haha, that it might help me increase my activity since I know that's better for me and baby than being a slug couch potato!

  • I woke up this morning with weird cramps on the right hand side and then when I wiped I had brownish pink blood. It's continued throughout the day and I called the nurse line and they said to wait it out until Monday. A few ladies in my mom groups said that they got progesterone suppositories and they think it saved their pregnancies. Do you think I should go to the ER or wait it out until Monday?

I have to go into work for education today from 4:30 - 6:30 and I just realized that's prime "if I don't eat the right thing at the right time I'm gonna be sick" territory.

    This should be fun.  :s
  • @BabyWnumbertwo I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Are you able to talk to your actual doctor and not just a nurse?  I really have no experience with this, so I'm afraid you'll have to do what's right for you. Go with your gut. Hugs girl.
