Re: Symptoms, Questions and Concerns Week of 5/6

  • I'm curious how everyone is doing with exercise. I run... and it seems now when I run I just want to throw up. For some reason it amps it up and I can't stop gagging.

  • @AMCsquared I'm sorry you're gagging when you run :(. I really don't have MS so I don't experience that when I exercise.  I do crossfit and run as well.  My problems really revolve around wanting to even do it because I'm so tired, and taking multiple pee breaks.  When you run, have you had something to eat beforehand?
  • No, no eating before. It always caused cramps so that's always been a no no. @grochril how is crossfit going for u? I haven't really done my high impact workouts since I found out (Jillian Michaels interval/weight/high impact training) but mostly bc I'm using this as an excuse to be lazy and just sticking to runs.

  • I have had m/s since week 5 (now 9). Everyday like clock work I wake up at 5, puking and puke a couple times throughout the day. Its sad when puking 3 to 5 times a day is an easy day. Im so exhausted that I can't even imagine working out and I used to workouy everyday. Now I am lucky if I can do prenatal pilates, yoga, or zumba a couple times a week. I miss running so much.

Yesterday was the first time in almost a month that I kept my meals for the most part down. It seriously feels like I have had a bad hangover for a month.

These past two weeks have been hard to exercise due to the nausea but also I am soooo short of breath when i do my regular workout . So I wear an Apple Watch and when I used to to my workout I would average 170 bmp and now my heart rate won't make it above 150 and like I said I'm so short of breath it's ridiculous
  • @AMCsquared I lift and do cardio 5x a week. Last pregnancy I had to take puke breaks....yep no fun. I would literally be in the middle of a lift, run to the bathroom to puke and then go back to my lift. The only good thing about morning workouts is the gym is empty and so are the bathrooms hah! I think once I hit the second tri the MS eased up a bit and workouts got way easier. I workout at 5 am so I normally don't eat much at all. I have had mild MS the past week or two so I have been making sure to eat more before workout and it really helps me. I would maybe try to eat a bit and take it easy on the runs until your MS eases up?

  • All the phlegm.  It's so gross.  No matter what I drink or eat, it's always there.   Anyone else have this problem?

As far as pooping, I poop so much more now than I ever did.  It's terrible.  Maybe this is my morning sickness since I don't vomit?

  • I've been doing the 21 Day fix workout program - they're short 30 minute workouts that are totally doable for me normally. I was doing Insanity before I found out I was pregnant, and I feel like that's a little too intense for me right now.
Anyway, the 21 Day fix has even gotten hard. Stuff that I normally do with no problem, is like, REALLY tough now. I'm just trying to not push myself too hard, but keep moving.  I sprained my ankle last week though, so I've been taking a break and I feel so lazy. I hate it.

@breezybee last pregnancy I had just finished p90x3 and was halfway through 21day Fix Extreme and could not figure out why I was so out of breath and couldn't finish the moves... turns out I was pregnant (didnt know it was twins then).  It was brutual.  I did finish the program but it wasn't pretty. I went to Piyo from there which was much much better and then eventually did Autumn's maternity workouts on demand and just did prenatal yoga and pilates towards the end.

  • @tmk0325 Oh shit!  Autumn has maternity workouts?!  Hell yeah!  I'm going to check those out - thanks :)
  • tmk0325tmk0325 member
@breezybee Yes, but their were only like 4 of them and they were only on Beachbody on Demand.  She really could do a whole like 21 day series and I think would get a lot of takers!

  • I have mainly been doing brisk walking and some gentle yoga.  I have been nauseous and tired, and I don't feel like doing anything more intense than that right now.  The walking really does feel great.  I usually do around 1/2 hour a day, but sometimes up to an hour.

  • Anyone else feeling their levels evening out and symptoms starting to decline? I had a hell of a week last week with stronger than normal symptoms, and this morning (week 10 on the dot) woke up feeling fantastic with no ms at all. Breasts are still sore and cramping is still come and go, but the nausea and food aversions seem to have disappeared.

@peachy13 maybe you're gonna be lucky and that's it for you. Maybe your placenta kicked in. Meanwhile, 8.5 weeks over here and I'm taking all the medicine for mine. Haha. But I had it way into the 2nd trimester with DD

  • @peachy13 I'm praying this LO takes after yours and eases up at the 10 week mark.  I start weaning my progesterone then also so hoping that helps!  I too had it way into my 2nd tri with DS but holding out hope that since this one started sooner, it will end sooner too lol. One can dream!

  • @holzie-2 I totally have the phlegm issue too. Tylenol Sinus helps, but I hate to keep taking different medications. However, it's much better than gagging or throwing up. I think I'm going to try the Nettie Pot.

Is anyone else alternating between really cold and really hot? I feel like my little bun keeps turning the oven on and off... I had to sleep with the fan on last night then kept alternating between under and on top of the covers. I don't remember this with my son - I was pretty much constantly hot with him.
  • @rachswi Me! I'm usually only hot and was like that with DS. I had been freezing for thr last few weeks and it was linked to anemia. Now that Im on iron I'm sooooo hot again. I can't  win...LOL!
  • @peachy13- not yet for me, still nauseous and exhausted, but I'm just at 9weeks and 4 days.  Really hoping and praying that'll be the case for me soon!   Enjoy! :)

  • @rachswi ME! I'm freezing all day at work/anywhere else where there's AC. Then last night in bed I was scorching, which is not normally the case.

My breast tenderness was mostly MIA yesterday so I was kind of freaked (and I haven't had many other symptoms). But last night I got really mad at DH and then cried twice in a span of like five minutes (which was spurred by anxiety since our viability U/S was this morning). Right now I am exhausted.

  • I have to do the glucose test tomorrow and my nurse told me I could eat before the test, as long as I stayed away from sugar.  With my last baby I had to go in fasting and I nearly passed out.  I'm glad I can eat, but what's the best way to go?  Google seems to think eggs and sausage.

  • That's great!  I'm so happy for you @MJDsquared!
  • @MJDsquared So happy it went well!

@andipandicWed121369 I ate eggs and turkey bacon before mine. My OB had said proteins only; no carbs, sugars, or caffeine.

Anybody else's hair coming out? This wasn't a problem with DD. It comes out so badly.

  • @AMCsquared I commend all of you who have been able to keep working out. I've been so tired and for some reason my schedule has felt extra busy. I've been powerlifting once a week. Up to week 6, I was making impressive gains with my bench, going in the morning before I knew I was tired haha! But once I found out I've been off the grid. I find I tired easily.. any workout I can get in right now is a win.
Up until my cycle was missed and maybe a week after I was getting 15,000 steps a day as well but I guess around week 5 I was just too tired and gave it up (I didn't know why I was tired at the time haha).
Im starting to feel like I'm getting my energy back, I just need to find my discipline again!

I was doing a really good job with walking with dS but now it's above 80 and the heat/sun make me want to vomit if I'm out for any amount of time. I thought I was going to be so much better about exercising during this pregnancy. Turns out I'm still a wimp.
  • @clovelyone - I'm going to try Tylenol Sinus tomorrow....if my pregnancy brain reminds me to pick it up!  Thanks for the tip.

@dkizz82 I lost soo much hair during my first trimester when I was pregnant with DD, and my hair became so oily. I was used to only washing my hair once or twice a week & suddenly I was having to wash it every day! I'm barely losing any hair this time around & it's not oily at all which makes me wonder if it'll be a boy  :#
  • NME44NME44 member
@bkrahn, I was JUST thinking how greasy my hair is lately.
  • bkrahnbkrahn member
@NME44 i feel ya, I honestly felt like I was hitting puberty all over again  :D
  • @AMCsquared crossfit isn't too bad actually.  The workouts are all scaleable so I just don't do anything out of my comfort zone.

i hope the MS in general gets better for you soon!
  • Emotionally fragile today. Like, unable to cope with minor issues such as what to wear this morning (almost had a tantrum like a toddler) to overwhelming and crushing feelings of helplessness and dispair when reading the news.

@bkrahn my hair is super dry.  Like flaky dry. I thought this might be a boy because it's dry and falling out. Haha. Pregnancies are so different.

  • Omg I am absolutely miserable! I feel that I drink ginger ale and tea all day long. My food aversion is so bad I literally have to force myself to eat.
  • @grochril I think that's where I'm having a hard time deciding what is too much and what's not. With the high impact work outs... I've heard high impact it's not good to do.. but I don't get what that means and what moves to eliminate. I'm thinking of just switching to cardio yoga instead of the high impact workouts.

I am with you. I think my first pregnancy symptom was running at about a minute slower pace per mile. I didn't know what was wrong with me until I got my BFP and read about it. Do you all do the yoga classes the gym offers or prenatal specific yoga?

Also, is anyone waking up repeatedly from anxiety? I think it's actually shortness of breath but in my sleep my body decides if I can't breathe I must be anxious...
  • Feeling nauseaus all the time.  Got some diglecis but haven't tried it yet.  Tilted uterus according to the ultrasound tech but that's no big deal.  Then I had some round ligament pain today and last night that was pretty strong.  Definitely don't remember it being this painful with DD.  Bleh.

Called nurse line to make sure I didn't have a UTI bc they suspected one on Monday..but all is good there.   Eh.  Just feeling generally like crap today.
