the delivery of my first was similar but not that exciting. I too had an epi and had dosed off. i called the nurse in the room to tell her I felt something. She took her time checking me and when she finally raised the sheet up my daughter's head was in the bed. the doctor and my mother ran passed the door as she came out. I agree there should be a discount of some type but she is twelve and I never got anything monetary just a great daughter.
OMG!!! That is crazy I would have been freaking out but you seem to be in control. That is AWESOME!!! Congrats and I'm hoping for an easy delivery but hopefully my doctor will be in the room...hehe
Wow! Congrats, good to hear baby and you are happy snd healthy! My mom had a similar experience with my sister, the nurses kept insisting she wasnt even close to having the baby and walked out of the room, my mom delivered the baby with her room door open and a random doctor happen to see my sister with the cord around her neck with just the head out and ran in and helped deliver her lol...jeeeze talk about close calls!

Thanks for posting your story! It's amazing!!! I read it to my husband and we just cracked up in disbelief! You are an AMAZING woman! A crazy story worth repeating! I am so happy for you and your husband and your healthy baby boy! Congratulations!!
Holy crap! That's crazy! I would have flipped my lid! Good for you for handling it so well. What a great entrance to the world!
Finally after 15 months and 2 IUI's we have our gorgeous baby boy!
Born Nov. 13th @ 9:09am after 29 hours of labor!
6 lbs 1 oz 20 inches long
My little angel born Jan 9th, 2010 at 9:54pm after 25 hours of labor!
7lbs 4 oz 20 inches long
HOLY MOLEY! Sigh. Some days it seems I'm the only person that has 36 hours of labor (with my first) then 24 hours with my second. I'm really hoping my third is more reasonable!
OMg that's awesome. A friend of mine had nearly the same expierance. But her back up coach caught a DR in the hallway just as the baby had crowned. They had to deliver in the room.?
I had a dream that happened to me... glad i read this because i know everything can be okay if i was in that situation. Congrats! Tell them you are billing them for not being there and thinking the emergency in the other room was more important!
Wow, and I thought it was bad for me when the nurses kept telling me for hours I wasn't in labor, then they gave me my epi and I had to tell THEM the baby was coming out. They tried to tell me it wasn't possible what w/ the epi and all, but when they lifted my sheet back and saw my baby's head coming out, but my water still hadn't broken itself, I got payback the second she touched me and my water broke all over the meanest nurse I'd ever seen! LOL Glad to hear everyone's ok; can we say malpractice? LOL If it were my baby and there were even the slightest thing wrong due to them not being there, they'd never hear the end of it! Tons of congrats and I'm glad it was so "easy" for ya
Melanie Paige was born 7/7/10 @ 8:48 AM- 7 lbs 4 oz, 19 in!
Lana Michelle was born 1/9/07 @ 9:40 AM- 6 lbs 14.5 oz, 19.5 in!
Re: Fast labor and delivered him myself...no kidding.
That was the most awesome birth story I've ever read. Congratulations!
