Re: Symptoms: Week of 5/6-5/12

  • My symptoms haven't really changed since last week - sore boobs, nausea, etc. But I've been randomly experiencing lower back pain. I read online it is a common symptom in early pregnancy. Anyone else experiencing it? Any suggestions for dealing with it?

  • @darkrose88 the main symptom I have other then occasional sore nips is lower back pain. It's the worst when I get up in the morning. I couldnt fall back asleep this morning bc my back hurt so much. For me, getting off my feet and wearing comfy shoes help. Or in my case this morning, just getting out of bed and moving around helped ease the pain.

Had some spotting this morning. Just when I wiped, I saw it and wiped again, nothing, so like barely any blood. The rational side of me knows it's totally normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong per say, but you guys the rational side of me is not the dominant side since April 17 when we did our FET. No major cramping I feel totally fine (sore boobs and some bloat but that's my new normal so I'm cool with it) uuuggghhhhhhh. This happened last Friday too, maybe my body misses drinking wine on Fridays and is punishing me? (Kidding but maybe?)

  • @darkrose88 yes to the lower back pain! I was googling a storm about it last night lol. Felt like PMS a bit but has faded. Sounds like it is normal!

@darkrose88 I'm all about the lower back pain lately. And hip pain....and ligament pain when i get up too fast.

I had this with my first too- prenatal yoga really helped me. I'd wake in the middle of the night and take child's pose to help my back and hips.

Guess i've gotta get on finding a class....

Current annoying symptom is itchy skin! Which i think a few mentioned in last weeks symtomes thread too. So annoying! Witch hazel seems to help but man, its brutal.
  • I did not sleep at all last night. Part of it was our puppy who likes to wake us up at 12, 4, and 5am. Last night he was especially bad and got up at least 6 times... but I did notice that I have to pee in the night a lot!

My boobs are sore but I also keep squeezing them to check - which I forget sometimes and still do in public... Also I have had little heart flutters here and there. Nothing crazy, I just attribute them to horomone changes. I get them from time to time around AF so it's not too shocking. Other than that I got nothing still.
  • @MeggsM I've been thinking about taking a prenatal yoga class too - I'm hoping the stretching will help with all the soreness/aches. How often did you take a prenatal class?
  • Mild cramping has been nonstop today. I realize it's normal but I didn't experience this last time around. Kind of hard not to worry though..

Sore humongous boobs (from a B to a D, wtf!!!???), not that interested in eating, feeling emotional, super slight sharp pains in my uterus (not cramping, and not really that painful...just feels like being tapped by a knife), little diarrhea, BLOATED (co-workers have already been guessing that I'm pregnant and touching my bloatedness), peeing all the friggin' time, slight dizziness/lightheaded, slight lack of coordination and...I think that's it!

On the plus side none of my symptoms are intolerable at all even though there seems to be a lot of them.
  • My brain seems to check out. I also don't have my food cravings anymore. Before I was pregnant my cravings were all over the place depending on what time of month I was in. Now, nothing. Which is REALLY weird for me. And boobs hurt.

@JuliaGoolia719 I had spotting yesterday, along with some intense cramps. My doctor checked my HCG, and since the levels are high, she thinks that it's just implantation cramps and bleeding. Despite what the internet seems to think (that implantation bleeding happens between ovulation and a missed period), she's confident that it can happen in the middle of week five, and says it happens a lot with her patients. It's not completely gone today, but it's reduced.

I'm also having enough low level nausea, that I'm sucking on my first prego pop now. Sour lemon, not bad, seems to have helped me feel less green.

My anxiety is through the roof, though. In addition to the spotting yesterday, I was an idiot and forgot my estrogen pill last night. So now I'm a total ball of nerves.

No real symptoms here yet, but I know it's coming, so just trying to enjoy feeling good for the moment. @darkrose88 sleeping with extra pillows--between your thighs/ankles--can help with your alignment and can help the lower back pain too.  I tend to get a lot of back pain when the belly starts getting big and I create a pillow fortress, we joke it's the third person in our bed!

@darkrose88 I've also had lower back pain. Slight cramping and a little dizziness when I stand up too fast. Other than that I've just been tired!

  • @KLake42 Ugh, I hate that you're going through that. That totally sucks. Sounds like your Dr. isn't too concerned though so that's a plus. Hang in there, girl.
  • @KLake42 that's good to hear thank you!!

  • Symptom update: Okay so I was lying outside on our hammock and all of a sudden I got a really weird feeling, almost like my ears were plugging up or my blood pressure changed (hard to explain) and then my stomach got really angry and I had to run to the bathroom. I don't know what that was but I hope it was an isolated incident!
  • MeggsMMeggsM member
@darkrose88 i went to the class once a week but practiced at home (and the work boardroom) often. My last few months i'd do a short practice at lunch and before bed and whenever i was sore.

And pillows also helped. Oh and a great chiro! Mine works with a lot of pregnant women and was useful to help realign my hips and back.

@Baby_is_coming are you feeling any better? My stomach's been suddenly rocky randomly and i think its the prenatal pills. Hope you're feeling better.
  • @Baby_is_coming oh no! Hope you're feeling better!

@MeggsM @darkrose88 totally second the good chiropractor, best money I spent, hands down. I only wish I'd gone to one with DS1 too.

  • @darkrose88 I started to have lower back pain the other day. Other than that, I'm hungry.all.the.time, sore boobs, and really tired.
  • the week before my bfp and the first few days after (so, weeks 3 and 4?) i was insanely tired and had cramps. then the indigestion and (sorry TMI) diarrhea started. i'd say i still have all three of those, intermittently. and my boobs are getting more sore, but tbh, that isn't too bothersome.

oh and my OB said no allergy meds, so my seasonal allergies are getting worse every day. any tips for that???
  • @MeggsM @schaze I am feeling better thank you! I went to bed at about 7pm and slept for 12 hours! I think the hormones just kicked into overdrive. I am interested to see how this next week goes.
  • @MeggsM my friend is a chiropractor and I was thinking of doing that. Excited to hear it actually helps!

Last night I rolled onto my stomach in bed and was woken completely out of a deep sleep because of course I rolled onto my boobs as well. Holy hell that freaking hurt!!! They are better today but they have never hurt that much.
  • I'm just tired. I want to nap all the time. Ugh it's nuts lol. I feel like I could sleep standing up.

  • All I have so far is wanting to sleep 24/7 and this legit caffeine withdrawal headache that keeps me from sleeping and functioning like a normal human. I have started experiencing the hormones, and the random crying that comes with it. I googled my OB yesterday and started crying reading his bio... Also a bit of dizziness that hasn't gone away all day today, but I'm giving that to the lack of caffeine running through my veins.
  • This bloat is no joke. I am 4w1d and my ( very outspoken) friend asked me if I was pregnant yesterday! Of course I denied it... plus I wasn't drinking which probably clued her in... but I've got a baby blump  going on already. It doesn't help that I was at two parties this weekend and ate some pretty unhealthy foods.
@TInman87 some caffeine is safe during pregnancy. I currently have a small cup in the morning and a cup of green tea or another small cup in the afternoon. Talk to your doctor. Unless of course, you are trying to quit caffeine all together.
@saraterp3 I currently take 10 mg of Claritin. My doctor and Dr Google says it's completely safe. If you are truly suffering maybe get a second opinion. Just avoid any medicine wth a decongestant.

The heart flutters bare driving me crazy. They started last week (earlier than my last 2 pregnancies).

And the hip pain at night has already started :(  Through the previous 2 pregnancies I could never figure out how to stop them from hurting, but they usually didn't start until 2nd tri.

What causes the hip pain? :(
  • I'm already having hip pain as well, but I've been out of alignment for a few months now. I have to find a new chiropractor to get me fixed up before the weight piles on and everything shifts around.

@madcouplewithabox The hip pain is usually caused by your joints relaxing to accommodate the baby, everything shifting around, and an overall different distribution of weight. HIGHLY recommend a pregnancy pillow.

I went ahead and got a cheap belly band from target, so I can wear pants unbuttoned, to deal with the belly bloat.  I'm so excited to be comfortable at work!

This bloat is no joke. I am 4w1d and my ( very outspoken) friend asked me if I was pregnant yesterday! Of course I denied it... plus I wasn't drinking which probably clued her in...
I told my ex-husband the news (he's on the shortlist of people who I'd feel comfortable telling if anything goes wrong) and he immediately said he'd figured because I hadn't been drinking at our cookout the night before. He knew we were trying, but I still had a laugh. Being a habitual beer drinker will out you fast, lol.

Also, I've been living with the sore boobs -- everything else is intermittent: cramps, lower back, and gassy af. Also I had to drop my 3+ daily coffee habit down to the a mostly decaf habit. I knew it was coming, but still is suuuuucks. Thankfully all my big projects and long nights of schoolwork are done for now.
  • I am feeling fairly normal so far. My breasts are a bit sore when pushed on (the cat seems extra interested in walking on them lately!). I feel like every once and a while I feel a bit queasy but it passes quickly. I look like I am showing a bit already between my flab and bloat. No morning sickness, cravings, weird dreams. I don't really feel pregnant (not that I know what to feel being a FTM).

  • @madcouplewithabox Lots of things can cause hip pain but just a head's up (I think you are a FTM?), I never had it the entire time with DD. So it won't for sure get you  :)

  • Right now, I feel mostly great! I miss caffeine, but otherwise my symptoms are hardly noticeable.i had light cramping last week, but that has since stopped. I have bloating that won't go away, sore boobs intermittently and the occasional stomach pain right after I eat. I want to take advantage of feeling good, but instead I just keep worrying something is wrong.  :/
  • @Cauleyflower OMG yes! My damn cats tread all over them any chance they get. It takes everything in me not to throw em off cause it hurts so bad lol

    @EmilyLove25 Thanks for the hope!:)
  • Yeah I know that feeling, mine is extra clingy and insists on being on top of me all the time.

Same symptoms as last week...sore boobs, the bloat from hell, little moments of nausea.
But I'm adding a new symptom to the list:
Crazy, insane irritability. Like, I have no patience for anybody right now, and I've lost my s**t way too many times today. For some, that may not be a big deal, but when you're a teacher, patience is kind of a necessity. And seriously guys, I usually have the patience of a saint most of the time.
But I straight up told a student to shut up today. I have NEVER done that. What is wrong with me?? Someone else tell me they've LOST.THEIR.FREAKING.MINDS so I don't feel so bad!
