Congestion, sore boobs, cramping, intermittent nausea, mood swings... I've started having some food aversions, I'm not a picky eater at all and had to pick all of the cabbage out of my salad last night because it tasted so bitter. I'm overall exhausted. I'm blessed that DD takes afternoon naps because I don't know how I would make it through the day. I forgot how wonderful the pregnancy journey is♡
So far my symptoms are intermittent nausea, fatigue, and RAGE. But by FAR my worse symptom is sore nipples/boobs, mostly because of my nursing toddler. It feels like I'm nursing a newborn again, not a sensation I missed! I hope it doesn't last this whole pregnancy, he's still so attached to nursing!
Add gagging on food to the list. I couldn't eat my lunch today (chicken stir fry, which I ate just fine for dinner last night) because I kept gagging on the chicken. The puking will be here at any day now...
@JuliaGoolia719 Any tips for staying productive when you just want to eat and nap? I'm new to the working-from-home lifestyle (I was just granted the ability to do some flex time/telecommuting/whatever you want to call it), and I'm assuming that later in the first trimester I'm going to want to sleep the day away and then I'm going to want to "nest." How do you stay focused?
I try to stay task oriented "when I get this task done I can zone out for 10 minutes" type thing. Luckily my job can provide spans of time during the day where my phone isn't ringing and I can get other stuff done around the house
Anyone else prone to cold sores? Just had one pop up on my lip, ughhh. With a weaker immune system right now I'm sure it won't be my last. I hate these things! I usually swear by campho-phenique but I do not think it's safe during pregnancy. Anyone else bothered by these/have a safe remedy that works for them!?
So far my symptoms have not been too crazy. My boobs are sore off and on, I am bloated, have some light cramping off and one a well. I have also noticed that I am pretty emotional (which I am most of the time anyway), but I have been getting teary eyed at reading all things related to baby and full on cried through communion at church last Sunday - lol! Not sure what that was all about.
The only other big problem I am having is that I have pretty much stopped pooping. I was pretty irregular before, but now I am taking fiber supplements and colace caplets at night and still not getting any relief. This is, of course, adding to my bloat and making me not want to eat. I plan to talk to my doctor about it, but my appointment is two weeks away - its going to be a long two weeks for so many reasons. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to solve this problem I would appreciate it.
@aimsforyou2014 I'm with you! After my first and then especially after surrobabe, my poop habits are terrible. I'm always constipated unless I drink miralax. Colace doesn't really help much. And neither does high veggie/fiber diet

Anyone have issues with insomnia? I'm actually looking forward to the fatigue kicking in so I can fall asleep more easily! I can't miss this much sleep for the next 35 weeks!
Hi! Not sure if this is normal, or something I should get checked. This morning, I've had a feeling of pressure in my vagina. It could be because of extra blood flow to that area- not sure. It's definitely noticeable though. Not pain at all. I'm 5 weeks 5 days. Should I call OB?
Sore boobs for sure Little bouts of nausea but nothing major Lower back pain was fixed by chiropractor last week If I get up too quickly I get a slight sharp pain in the front of my hips each side- just above my bikini line

@rachelg777 There are some lemon balm remedies on Amazon that are safe for pregnancy and they work really well.
Omigosh, my boobs just got huge, like overnight. Boom.
Nausea is increasing every day. I'm hoping that I can avoid actually puking-- I really hate it, and will resist it with all I've got.

@nicoleblaylock If it's something you're unsure about, I would definitely call OB. And if they think it's concerning they'll set an appointment for you.

Yep, insomnia is happening here. And I've never had insomnia before so this is a whole new world (and terrible)!

@nicoleblaylockTotally normal! I had that too with DD and a
little now. I think it can be blood flow, expanding kidneys, and simply the
fact that we are more aware of how we feel down there!
@mamakassie2 I am having insomnia here and there… especially
when my anxiety gets going. I had it last night and I know I will next Tuesday
before my US on Wednesday.
On a side note, I visited the crazy side of life yesterday…
I totally went irrational and actually left work early to talk myself out of
how irrational I was being. Yikes! Better today… I think it was triggered by
the 2 hour+ traffic jam I was caught in on my way to work with DD in the car…
and then just pregnancy fears and nausea. My mind said, “no thanks.”
Should I actually feel any different? I don't. At all. Earlier in the week, I would get queasy after eating or if I went a long stretch without eating, but that's gone. I was also super tired Monday and Tuesday, but yesterday and today I'm fine. Only thing I've got going on is some breast sensitivity, but I also feel like that is subsiding. I know you can't compare on pregnancy to another but I'm just super anxious over here. It could be compounded with the fact that I don't see a doctor for another 35 days. I know 4+3 is not far at all, but I feel like I should feel some sort of way.
ETA: I do have off and on very mild cramps and I am peeing a lot.

I'm so glad insomnia was brought up. Last night I woke up at 3 am, and could not go back to sleep. So I watched netflix until I had to get ready for work. It's so bizarre because I am absolutely SHATTERED by the end of the day, but once I wake up to pee, I'm wide awake for the rest of the night.
@eags I think I will get some miralax and try that. Thanks!

@SoldiersMom I second what @schaze said. I actually went back and found my old posts (different forum) from DD and it was verbatim yours! I said, "I am certain there is not a baby in there because I feel the exact same as I did a month ago. No nausea, no sore/big boobs, so what is wrong?" You'll definitely feel it eventually... I know if you google, it'll say MS and nausea can "peak" around 6 weeks... but that's actually not the norm. Typically, it ramps up ~8-10 weeks. It certainly did for me with DD. And you may not even have it! Feeling normal is so normal right now, I promise!

@dani4est YES! That's the worst part... I'm exhausted by 2 PM and then at 10 PM... Wide awake! Lol. I remember someone telling me with DD it was practice for when you have a newborn!
@Eags I've dealt with it a lot in the past (chronic pain condition symptom) but it's much more frustrating during pregnancy. I need MORE sleep now, not less! Haha
My face! What is going on with my face? I have NEVER broken out this bad before. Maybe just maybe as a teen? But in the past 15 years my face has never been so out of control and riddled with acne. Its like 3 new pimples pop up each day and as soon as one goes away it comes right back in the same spot! Its crazy. Then I read I cant use spot acne treatment (which Ive never used before but I was thinking about it now). Seriously guys, Im waiting for a kid to run up to me and play connect the dots on my face!
@miranda21037 my face was awful during my first pregnancy! I never got that pregnancy glow, I'm hoping it's better this time around. A lot of products aren't safe to use during pregnancy but I did find that lactic acid and other AHA exfoliants are safe and saved my acne riddled butt!
@miranda21037 I, like @acunamatada, also had horrible acne during my first pregnancy. I just bought Maternal Anti-Blemish Face Wash on Amazon. We'll see how it works!
Most of my symptoms go away as quickly as they came on. For example, for the most part I'm feeling warmer than I usually do, but sometimes I get these chills out of nowhere with goosebumps and shivering, and then it goes away. So weird...
@SoldiersMom with my first, I didn't start getting nauseous until 6w and even then it wasn't just a little. It ramped up at 7w and by 8w I was on zofran.
@miranda21037 pregnancy is the time when my face is the clearest! It reduces the oilness and I love it! I joke that I'll just have to stay pg so I don't have to worry about pimples!
