I have eaten grilled tuna steaks three times this week. No shame. If the hubby is willing to cook all my lunches for work for a week I will happily accept!
I found a pair of jeans that I could actually zip and button. (A very loose pair, lol) but I decided I would wear my belly band anyway so that I didn't have to zip and button them.
DH put on a tshirt this morning and was commenting on how he didn't remember it being so stretched out last time he wore it. It was me, I stretched it out. He doesn't wear it super often, and all my shirts were dirty on laundry day, so....yeah.
I don't take offense to the phrase "breast is best" breast milk IS what's best for a baby. To deny that is asinine. What I take offense to are the judgemental sanctimommies that act like breast feeding is feasible for everyone or that someone is not as good, is lazy, or less than because they aren't breast feeding. But the actual phrase "breast is best" is not offensive, it's factual. That's like eating an all organic/preservative free diet. Is it what's best for people? Absolutely! Do I and or everyone practice an all organic/preservative free diet even though it's what is best for me and my family? Hell no. Does that make me less than or judge worthy? Also hell no. Everyone just do your own thing and don't worry about anyone else
SO complained this morning that all of his socks are missing.....they're in my hamper because i've been stealing them when I don't feel like doing laundry. Oops
I don't care what your political standpoint is - if someone (especially someone who you're interacting with at their work where your views are literally contrary to what they do for a living) indicates that they don't want to start a discussion about a hot topic political item - don't! Don't try to argue it. Don't say you can give them information that will change their mind. Let them do their job. ESPECIALLY when you are literally utilizing their employment.
Aka - I work for a cash assistance program from the government. If you are literally getting cash assistance do not judge other people for getting cash assistance.
I drove H to the train this morning because it was raining. On the way home, I stopped at McDonalds and got not one, but two sausage biscuits. Then I ate them where DD couldn't see me, so I didn't have to share. I would say I feel bad, but I don't.
I ordered a Venti ice water with my frap. this morning. They gave me warm water with no ice, so I went and bought an 8 lb bag of ice. I got my ice water all day long
@lap018 I am pro breastfeeding, to the point that I've donated breastmilk to other babies and I would even consider wet nursing, but breastmilk is not always best. I get what you are saying, human breastmilk was designed for human babies. There is always an exception to the rule. Some babies will get sick from it no matter what a mom does, so thank goodness for hypoallergenic formula. I also know what it is like to feel like you're failing at giving your baby what it needs. Moms need to be supported in doing what is best for baby and what is best for themselves.

Of course their always exceptions. That was not really a part of my post but those situations I am not referring to. There's a chance that someone could be allergic to herbicides in which case organic produce wouldn't be an option. There's always an exception. But generally breast milk is what's best.

I hear you, I can agree with your addendum. This in bold, is what you said.

Yaaaaaaassssss! Preach it! I didnt breastfeed baby 1 because of my migraines... I got major side eye, called selfish, called lazy, blah blah blah.... but when my child slept through the night at 6 weeks and on and the rest of the women side eying me were not sleeping I just smiled and waved like a champ.
I played sand volleyball with my students today...
I post this here because my family practice doctor told me not to play volleyball for a long time because I tore up a ligament in my thumb pretty badly in the fall... and my OB told me no exercising due to an oddly placed imbilical cord...
Volleyball is my favorite, and it was so much fun. I don't regret a thing. Plus, my students are 10. It's not like I was Misti Mays out there.

I have a problem. I like to bake too much. After making cinnamon roll pull aparts, carrot cake muffins, a carrot cake loaf, and a couple loaves of bread for the company DH decided to invite to stay with us this weekend at last minute notice, I was all hey I have green grapes! I should make homemade white grape jam for their fresh bread too!
@wyomama0427 That Loki gif is my most favorite gif of all time. I use it all the time in texts. Lol.

I really find the "breast is best" phrase offensive when it's the first thing out of someone's mouth about feeding a baby, especially if you don't know the mom or dad you're talking to. DS is allergic to the Big Eight and lentils. I can't breast feed him safely and keep my own health intact. People don't even pretend to understand what it's like to have a kid will severe allergies who could die because I ate the wrong food. I won't attempt to breastfeed any future kids because the risk is too high to their health. And no, breastmilk wont cure his eczema. I get that ish all the time from breast is best people. Nothing against anyone here! I just wish people could be more mindful of the guilt that phrase places on moms and dads when the choice was out of their hands.
@Becky012016 I'd have to say you're definitely in the exception category for the "breast is best" slogan. I have to say that when anyone has ever told me they were going to formula feed or whatever they were going to do that wasn't breast feed I never asked the person why. I figured they have their reasons and they are doing what's best for them. It's nosy and pretentious (and none of anyone's Business!!! )to ask why aren't you going to breast feed (and I breastfed for 18 months) I'm sorry you've been left with a bad taste in your mouth towards pro breast feeders. I say do what is best for your family!
I have not washed my hair since Monday morning....and yes I started a new job this week. My scalp (and all my skin) is stupid dry so my hair is not getting greasy and I am just embracing it. If I have to be itchy at least I only have to blow out my hair once a week.
Me too. It makes my color last, and if I wash more often my scalp gets super dry an itchy. Right now I've stretched it a little too long and gone a full seven days, and I'm pretty sure my hair is at least 75% dry shampoo at this point.
There are actually a lot of exceptions to the "breast is best" comment. That's why people find it offensive.
Also, there is no evidence that people who eat organic food are healthier, live longer, or have any other real benefit over people who eat food with pesticides. Soooooo

I haven't had any luck with dry shampoo, but I've only tried a couple brands.
When you wash it, you strip all the natural oils and your scalp is like OH SHIT MAKE MORE. So it took me a few months of pushing it a day or so past when I SHOULD have washed it to get it rebalanced to be able to go so long.
Mostly I just freaking hate dealing with just washed hair. I don't have the patience or number of craps to give about it. My hair is coarse and a little frizzy.
I love dry shampoo and have not had to use it at all this week yet...and I don't work again until Tuesday so I am wondering if I can go that much longer without washing it
@lap018 I have such an Internet crush on you *swoon eyes*
To the non hair washers. I'm one of you. I also average once every 4-6 days.
My confession. My nausea is starting to let up a little bit- but I'm still passing the large majority of DS poop diapers off to my husband to change. No shame.
