@NYTino24 Yeah, I pretty much feel like that too...it will only matter when we announce. We will probably wait until birth anyway because it takes us that long to fully agree..ha! My brother and his wife are expecting in July and named their son Milo Thomas. They got lots of Marlo Thomas comments but it may not have bothered them too much because they did not know who that is.

My dh and I can settle on girl names no problem. Our short list for a girl is Paige, Piper, or Zoe. Dh is weirdly set on naming a son after an inanimate object which I'm not having. Some highlights include Box, Filament, Jeep, and Abacus to name a few. My top choices are Henry, Owen, Ronan, Lucas.
@KMRR86 That is hilarious - and must be super annoying! Top of my head for more "normal" names that are also things/occupations: Jack, Tucker, Dean, Griffin, Archer, Crew?
10 PM and all I can do is lay here agonizing over baby girl names. Why can't I just sleep?! DD is Sadie Sue Ann so for another girl I'd like something simple for a first name. Hubby and I both like Ellie. I'm thinking maybe Ellie Paige. But Rosie is a family name and I really like Rosie Jo (my dad's name is Joe and has always joked about naming all his grandkids after him) but maybe it won't sound so great in the morning? We have so much time to decide (team green here!) but apparently my brain isn't going to let me sleep tonight until I come to a conclusion. hopefully now since I've posted my late night ramble, I can get some sleep!
@kt&john maybe your child will be the second famous track star with that name? @kaitlinliz Charles, Cayden, Clayton,Cole and chuck are some of my fave boy c names.

Do you mean DH or DS?!?
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@KMRR86 I have a cousin whose nickname as a kid was Jeep, because they were saving up for a Jeep when they found out they were pregnant and had to turn it into baby money instead.
@JDW0325 I still really like this morning! So now I'm going to have to start the convincing of DH. It also hit me that we call DD1 Sue Sue so if we go with Rosie Jo with can have Sue Sue and Jo Jo and I think that's the cutest thing ever!
@av2323 I love Violet Anne! Violet is one of my favorite girls names (although I don't think DH likes it much). The others are cute too.
Question: If you are close to someone who has a nickname that is two initials (like CJ), do they spell it with periods or without (CJ or C.J.)? I feel like I should know this...

@av2323 I love those names! My niece is Violet and it's such a beautiful name. Unfortunately their last name is Black... I'm not sure if they thought that part through lol
I proudly announced over a month ago that we were set on Edith. Although we still LOVE this name, I think we have decided if it is a girl we are going to use Beatrice, which was my great-grandmother's name. As we sat and talked with our older kids, it was my 11 yo DS -who was especially close to my great-grandmother before she passed- said, why are we not using Bea? We all sat and smiled at each other.
However, no one has a suggestion that we love for a MN. We have discussed Beatrice Anne but no one loves it. We have also thrown around Beatrice Elizabeth but again, no "ah ha" moment yet. So if any of you have suggestions be by guest!
If it is a boy we are naming him Declan with a family sir name for a middle name. We have always agreed on boy names much faster than girls. Both Declan and Beatrice have to do with prayer and blessing

Omg right?? My 36 yo dh. For real. I just die on the inside talking about boy names with him.
Now that we know it's a girl, we are strongly looking at Elizabeth Moira Rose. I've been obsessed with that combination for 3 weeks now, so I'm hoping DH loves it too. On one hand I'm relieved it's a girl because all the names are open, but I really love having boys! DS1 was easy to name, DS2 was a nightmare. The boys are Daniel Vincent and Alexander Joseph.
OK..new name has popped up and DH seems to like it: Devon. Goes well with Cadence and Trevor. No ideas on a middle name. We usually do family middle names but all our options are not so great. Maybe Devon James. I am sure we will change our minds thousands of times before baby arrives!

The girl's name selection is proving much more difficult than expected. DH is ultra particular. Any name he thinks could be a stripper name is out. Any trendy or unusual name is out. Of course he likes Emily but our last name is common so that's not too original. He eliminated almost every name on my list. A lot of great names have already been used for family dogs! Between his and mine there have been a bunch of female dogs... Harper, Sadie, Shannon, Cora, Marley, Savannah, Dexy...too bad they are out of the running. I think my frontrunner is Zoey Elise but he isn't convinced and at this rate could be months before he feels ready to agree. He thinks its silly to have the Z name when DS is Zachary. I think it is a great idea because the Z name has been such a hit already in our house.
@asamapmaker my husband's favorite girl name is Zoey and favorite boy name is zack. I think it's a cute sibset. We had two boys so can't use them together, plus my husband already has a cousin named zack. If #3 is a girl, she'll be a Zoey.
Now that we know we are having a girl, we are pretty set on Lucy Mae Regine. Lucy is a name DH and I both love. Mae was my nana's nickname (her name was Mary) and Regine is my mother in law's name. We won't officially name her till she's born.
The story that goes with this is that DH and I were dead set on DS3's name being Hunter. Then, when I was about 8 months pregnant, I completely changed my mind. I had heard of so many Hunter's in our very small town and I told DH that the baby didn't feel like "Hunter". He may have thought I was a little crazy and poor DS3 didn't have a name until he was 2 days old. But now, his name is perfect for him. He is Dustin Kent.
We really aren't 100% sure and have both agreed we won't decide till babies born but so far two we agree on are Robert Alfred (After his mom's dad and stepdad) and Rosalyn Michelle
What about Atlas? It's a thing but it's also actually a name instead of well not (Greek mythology) And my hubby said they way he can be your world
An excellent suggestion, however I'm opting to stay away from Greek names. My dh has two children from a previous disaster and his X has four children total and they all have a different Greek name in their middle name. There's not a drop of Greek in any of the families so I'd rather not. However Atlas is a nice name.

Totally understandable . Greek is one of those languages tho that influences a suprising number of names so may be tricky. Personally I'd avoid anything biblical or Hebrew . Although my sisters kids are all Hebrew names and nice names I just wouldn't
Mostly we avoidnything excellent sticking with Irish, Celtics, and mythology without making it too hard or weird
So far top girl names are Aisling, Saoirse and Aoife. Top Middle name Hazel ( husbands grandmothers name as well as ogham tree) Boys much harder we have Fionn and Oran(Obhran) with Rowan or Elder as middle names (also ogham trees) and maybe Hector(Greek mythology) my grandfather who I never met (wwII POW -had health issues post war and passed young)
Team green and still discussing till we meet them and one sticks
