Can someone start the May TTGP Grad Check-In? I would, but I feel like I started half the threads this month so far lol Please don't forget to add our April Grads and be mindful of the grads who returned back to us. Also, please double check the December BMB for dragonette505. I believe she disappeared after her appointment last week, so it might be best to untag her for the moment.

Anytime I've mentioned when FW will be, DH has experienced performance anxiety. Well, he is on a roll right now and I sort of made a promise about not turning him down this month, but I'm sore! FW probably won't start until May 6th or 7th. How do I keep him going without wearing myself out?? I'm pretty sure he thinks we're in the FW right now.

@JJMNO1616 Admittedly, I mostly stalk the BMBs with grads I know (September 17 - present). I stalk the TTGP grad threads and scan for any loss threads to keep track of our grads or who might be headed our way soon. FX dragonette505 is alright, but I didn't want to tag anyone who might not be emotionally ready for it.

Honestly, I'm just a reflection of what this community has done for me and what I've seen other members do for each other. I'm glad to have made so many great friends since joining TTGP and I don't plan on forgetting about any of them just because they've moved on to a BMB.

I'm really upset right now and I don't know if I'm thinking rationally. My H just told me he is being asked to travel the last week of the month so not only would he be gone memorial weekend he is going to be gone during my next FW. We are already going to get bad timing this cycle due to him being out of town this weekend. I honestly want him to tell his boss he can't go. Do you guys think I'm being crazy?

@JJMNO1616 Deep breaths friend. It always sucks when timing is sucky or benches us for a cycle, but it happens. If it continues, of course YH can talk to his boss about traveling less. But this time? I'd sleep on it, take some deep breaths, and maybe change your mind about making this your line in the sand. Remember, life exists outside of TTC, and you can't stop everything to make it happen (as much as we may want to sometimes).

PS, you might want to double check your siggy's TTC year.

@JJMNO1616 Sorry--that sucks! That's tough one. I think it depends on the situation. Is it a work emergency? Is there normally this much travel? Is the travel spread our equally or semi-equally among similarly situated coworkers? If there's a lot of travel, was he told there was a lot of travel when taking/applying to the job? Can YH get away with saying no without compromising his job or being looked down upon (and have others done this?)? MH's job sometimes springs insane travel on him and his coworkers (like "surprise! Next week you have to go to a random country in the mid east for 6 weeks with shitty per diem" type of thing) and MH has managed to narrowly escape it for the most part but I'm always worried about this too, especially now that we are heading into treatments. I don't think it's at all crazy to want him to say he can't go, but he may not be able to do that without compromising his position.

My feelings also do run a little deeper then just this one trip. I obviously won't go into all the details of our relationship but his job has kind of ruled our life for better and worst. I think sleeping on it and talking it out with my H more is a good plan though. Does my siggy say 2016? lol I have done that a few times... I don't even see my siggy because I'm always on mobile.

@vflux33 My H has always traveled a lot for work. He has a relatively high ranking position with his company and he does randomly jet set off to the other side of the world on a short notice. Normally it's not a problem (although it sucks for him to be gone) but now that we are just starting to TTC I obviously need him here lol. This trip is important but not absolutely mandatory. I know he is probably really torn right now about what to do because he is a workaholic. He never says no at work.

@JJMNO1616 I feel you, girl! We've had a rough go with timing due to DH's travel for work - I get really stressed about it too, especially because when he took the contract it was supposed to be more manageable (i.e. less trips, shorter trips, and more around our schedule). I have let myself get really worked up - this week in particular, as we just moved to month 7, I worry that if we get to the year mark, the doctor won't take us seriously because timing has been so rough. I KNOW it's ridiculous, but TTC emotions can get the best of us all. My advice in all that - see how things go, but you have to remember to keep living your life outside of TTC. If you start scheduling life around it, you'll miss a lot. Is it maybe possible for you to join him for a long weekend during your FW? We did that once, and it was great for adding excitement to TTC and he didn't have to say anything to work.

@Sailing_Mama I thought of you after I posted because I remember you saying your DH had to leave out of town. I wish I could go with my H but he is being asked to fly to Asia and that's a bit far for a weekend. As of right now he is saying he won't go... but now I feel bad/guilty. I know our lives can't revolve around TTC, I'm just feeling discouraged with the initial setbacks. Who knows though... maybe i'll be an SS and our timing will be good enough this cycle. If not, worst case is we try again in June. I just hope this doesn't become a recurring issue for us or I may have to be like that drive-by who has a finance named David but needs a sperm donor because he travels for work too much.

So DC (Dear Cat) tinkled a little on my bath mat today. I, being an idiot, threw it in the wash with an old blanket that had kind of a funky dog smell that needed washing, and now my whole washing machine smells like cat pee! I threw the offending bath mat away, and now I'm running another wash cycle on hot with a pre-soak and extra rinse, and I added white vinegar to the wash, so hopefully that helps. I keep going to sniff my bathroom/laundry room, and I feel like the smell is gone but now I don't trust my own nose. I feel like the worst housekeeper/cat mom.

@JJMNO1616 Oh, I see. I agree with @LoveInDC you may just have to deal. @Sailing_Mama's idea of a long weekend visit is great, but it sounds like that won't work for you. Sorry! That sounds so frustrating. Hopefully you'll be a SS and it will all magically work out.

@kbamomma33 It went fine, I think in part due to the fact that one of the APs was working in her office. She told me not to switch periods again, I said she was absolutely right. Then she asked how my class got so behind on writing and I said that I had a field trip, a make up prep, and then all day assessment prep over that last three school days, and she said "Oh. Well that makes sense." She'll probably observe me tomorrow, but I'm ready.

Also, success! My bathroom and washing machine now smell like laundry detergent (with the faintest smell of vinegar).

If you're on desktop click on their profile picture, this will bring you to their user profile. There should be a "message" button in the upper right corner. Just don't confuse it with the wall. It's like a facebook wall - everyone can see what you write on there.

@jsnakehole Glad that your review went well.

So some of you may or may not remember my rant from January when DH told me that he had dropped his dental plan even though he had complained in November about his teeth hurting. Well we have it mostly figured out between signing up for a discount plan and budgeting, and his first appointment for getting work done is next week.

He feels really guilty about the costs so he's taken it upon himself to sell a lot of the miniatures for his dork game that he's not currently using. So DH is also on a pretty popular podcast for this dork game. Anyways one of the listeners saw that DH was selling all these miniatures. DH had included in the ad that he was looking for a quick sell to help pay bills. So the listener contacted DH's cohost on the podcast saying that he was very concerned about us and wanted to know if they needed to organize a fundraiser for us. The listener went on to say that DH has inspired him to organize events for the dork game. DH has never met this person or chatted with him on forums.

I feel so blessed that DH and I both have these amazing communities of people who we have never even met. I love you guys and I don't know how I would make it through this journey without you.
