I'm craving Honey Nut Cheerios right now. I texted DH and he said we have some at home so now I just reeeally need my lunch break to get here so I can eat some! I'm just gonna call this my first pregnancy craving even though I got pretty strong cravings pre-BFP too.
I'm feeling so guilty about not eating well! I usually eat a pretty balanced diet with regular fruits and veggies and all. All I can seem to eat are buttered noodles, perogies, Mac & cheese, sometimes cereal and sometimes fruit. I can't imagine eating veggies that I usually love! Anyone have any tips?
@babytime24 I say if you are dealing with nausea and aversions, you just eat whatever you can keep down and work in whatever healthier things you can. Chances are you'll feel better eventually and be able to resume a healthier diet.
I have chicken and bell peppers I need to cook today, so I'm making a chicken fajita pasta, and I seriously cannot wait. Dinner is the highlight of my day at times like this lol
@alysapuggles Thanks for the encouragement!! I wish I could stand the thought of chicken!! It's all just so strange that foods I normally eat I want nothing to do with!
@babytime24 the only real advice I have for you is time. You'll be able to eat again eventually. Bland carbs are just so much easier to get down in the first tri.
Last pregnancy I never actually threw up, but I constantly felt nauseous if I didn't eat something every 1.5-2 hours. I just started having the same symptoms, but I feel like I didn't have that this early on last time. So I thought I'd have another normal week or two. But no.
So I've been battling feeling thisclose to throwing up for 80% of the day for the past few days. I was supposed to make spaghetti for dinner tonight, but it just sounds so heavy and blah. I'm really wanting a nice cold salad with some vinegar-y dressing!
@MJDsquared plain Cheerios are sawdust, Honey Nut Cheerios are perfection. Good on you for not having a full blown hormonal meltdown, can't say I would be as sane.
@babytime24 I talked to my OB about this today. She said as long as you're eating every 2-3 hours and trying to squeeze in some cheese, meat, and nuts to help with your blood sugar, go to town on the carbs in the first tri.
@bamacoop I'm with you on the cold salad with a light dressing! I'm craving that so bad - I'm going to find a restaurant to get one tonight! Hell yeah! im also DYING for cold watermelon.
@pandawares the struggle is real! I've forcing down dry toast with nothing on it when I first get up, hoping that MS won't kick in an hour later on the way to work.
I haven't had any cravings so far, just riding the struggle bus trying to figure out foods that I can keep down. I usually like to menu plan for the week, but waved the white flag on that. I've been eating sooooo many processed snacks and foods compared to pre-prego: Goldfish crackers, chicken nuggets, Triscuits, salt and vinegar chips, etc. Pretty much all savory snacks, too! I can't stand sweets like cake and donuts.
I'll take all the carbs. Today was not a good day for food for me. I had a half a burrito (beans, cheese, rice, sour cream and guacamole), couldn't finish it because there were GLOBS of sour cream in it. DH made steak and I couldn't even force myself to eat more than 3 bites. So I ate the salad and the twice baked potatoes... And downed my Virgils Cream Soda. I'm hoping this is all just a fluke from having a long day with DD.
@dkizz82 mmm strawberries sound so good right now!
I'm actually getting sick of pasta (blasphemy in our house) because I can't bring myself to eat anything but carbs, salad and fruit. I'm on a work trip and last night I ordered thick hand cut fries from room service for a bedtime snack- imagine the largest fries you've ever seen. So. Freaking. Good.
I just indulged my ultimate craving - In N Out. Oh sweet baby Jesus I got a cheeseburger and animal style fries. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. I feel kinda bad since I haven't been eating so great the last couple days, but I'm justifying it because I worked out today AND I'm not drinking wine (obviously), so I've got like, a billion calories to spare. Lean protien and veggies tonight though.
Oh man, @breezybee I'm supposed to be making tacos for dinner and now all I can think about is In N Out! I may sneak that and still make tacos for my DH and sister. Lol
I'm making reuben sliders tonight. I could give two shits about deli meat any other time and then I get pregnant and I want ALL the cold cuts. I know I'll be fine if I ate them, it's just that little voice in the back of my head saying tsk tsk tsk!

They don't have that gross fish burp after taste, I forget I take them afterwards!
I don't quite have morning sickness yet, but every morning I wake up ravenous, so I have been eating a few M&Ms before I start making breakfast.
