@BabyMC517 did they give any reason why the medela PNSA was a better choice than the spectra? I'm stuck between the two and having had the medela with DD considering trying the spectra this time.
Just that it's a great pump. The nurse, a third time mom, and a NICU nurse mom all said that's the one I should get. I think it's possibly because that's what they use there or something similar

Change of plans. I got nervous after having consistent contractions for 8 hours so I went to L&D. They monitored me and I'm having a few real ones and a few that aren't intense enough to be counted (under 40 seconds), so those are called "irritability." I'm only 1 cm dilated. They sent me home, and I'll be going to the OB office for a check up tomorrow.
They also said they wouldn't do anything to stop labor at 35 weeks, but they don't do anything to progress it either. I just hope I don't continue to have this cramping/contractions for the next 5 weeks because it's really painful. All in all, I feel better after going in.
Me: 29, DH: 31 Married: October 2014 Began TTC: April 2015 BFP #1: 9/18/15. EDD 5/18/16. MC 10/26/15. (9w) BFP #2: 2/27/16. EDD 11/7/16. MC/D&E 4/20/16 (11w) BFP #3: 9/22/16. EDD 5/29/17. DS born 4/24/17 BFP #4: 5/20/18. EDD 1/23/19.
I just put together the remainder of the baby shopping from the registry on Amazon and it's north of $500. Hyperventilating as we speak. Lol. (Ok, well we didn't get some larger things like the k'tan or the baby monitor or the apparently fantastic magnetic cabinet locks for $39.99 a set, or the 2 additional car seat bases we need, or a brestfriend, or an activity gym, AND we do have quite some gift card balance there after the shower and some other stuff coming in BUT ANYWHO!!!) I was hoping to get my nespresso machine without spending extra money but apparently that's not going to happen now. Eeeek. Baby shopping, you suck!
We finally cleaned out our junk room and got crib, dresser and glider setup in baby's room. And I washed my first load of newborn clothes and blankets! I forgot how much I love the smell of Dreft.
@kns1988 I'm sitting here still freaking out as my pain gets worse. I'm glad you went in! Did they give you anything for the irritability? Keep us posted on how tomorrow goes. I'm thinking about you!
@jayandaplus@kns1988 thinking of you guys! Hopefully you got some restful sleep last night!! FWIW (not much) I asked my Dr last week at 34 weeks when we transition from "call if you have 5-6 contractions an hour consistently" to "wait until you're having them every 5 minutes for at least an hour." I didn't get a concrete answer but said after 34 weeks they don't "aggressively" stop labor. Which was both reassuring and terrifying! Keep us updated today!
@PghMom412@BabyMC517 sorry, finally catching up. As someone who has tried both, I very strongly recommend the Spectra. It has more adjustable modes for suck, a timer on the screen, and is wireless (game changing)
The PISA was given to me by the hospital becauss they have an exclusive contract with Medela. Even on the lowest setting, it hurt a ton, and it's basic, not as adjustable. It's easy to use and has accessories to make wireless via battery pack.
PISA is like a PC, does the job; Spectra is like a Mac, more advanced
@chailife34 thank you for the input! I went with the Spectra S2 so it's not portable like the S1 but I figured I'd most likely be near a plug when I needed to pump. Plus we just don't have the extra money to upgrade at the moment. We'll make it work but I lived all of the options and everythingnot has to offer!

@jayandaplus I hope you start feeling better and that your babe stays out for a bit longer.
