Ugh I can't sleep. I'm just so uncomfortable. We aren't really doing much this weekend! I cleaned out the van and plan to instal the car seat this weekend and then have it checked. I am also putting the kids gifts in the car and the nursing pillow. I am sorry you're stuck on bedrest @SKZW
Can I vent for a minute? I'm up because I just got a call informing me that a refrigeration alarm was going off at my store. Apparently it's something that needs immediate attention, and I had an hourly manager closing tonight so I had to go take over for her so she could leave. The repair vendor won't even be here for up to 2 hours and then who knows how long it'll take to fix.
Getting my exhausted, pregnant ass out of bed in the middle of the night is crappy enough, but of course my H is out of town helping his cousin move tonight. So I had to load up my sleeping toddler and take him to my parents. Ughhh so annoyed at this entire situation! Ok, end rant.
I was so tired I went to bed at 6:30, and so of course I'm now completely awake. And I'm fighting the urge to get up and make perogies. And DH is still out in the hot tub drinking so I'll have to spend the rest of the night in the guest room to escape the snoring lol.
I got up a little bit ago to pee and now H is snoring and I can't fall back to sleep...good thing it's the weekend. Plan on organizing the nursery and figuring out what to pack for the hospital bag. I think we have some friends coming over tonight as long as I'm feeling ok. Sunday we have our breastfeeding class and infant cpr. Hoping I'll make it!
"A day without laughter is a day wasted." ~Charlie Chaplin
It's become a trend for me to be awake between about 4 and 6, so that's cool. My wishes for today are to go to the farmers market and Hobby Lobby. I have high hopes of making a hospital door sign for May baby (but I usually get very frustrated with DIY projects and throw them away). I could very well be setting the weekend up for MAJOR disappointment.
@livin541 - What a nightmare! I hope you can leave your LO with your parents long enough to catch some zzz's!
@CherryBananas do you make pierogie from scratch? That seems like a ton of work! I had never even heard of those until we lived in Pittsburgh several years back. Sorry you'll have to sleep in guest room due to snoring.
@livin541 that sucks so bad especially cause you had to take the toddler to your parents. Hope the repairman gets there soon!
After my millionth pee trip last night when I got back in bed LO didn't seem to be moving much. So I waited. Then still no progress so I was definitely awake then. So now im up doing a kick count. I have moved around in bed so much that DH and dog are awake too so im super annoying that I'm waking everyone up! She's moving around some now but she likes to play games with me.
I do do have my first baby shower today!! So excited
@livin541: Oh my goodness, that sucks having to deal with that in the middle of the night. I hope it all played out smoothly. @emilyalso: A door sign sounds like a cute and manageable project! Does that mean you have a name picked out already? @rkstro2: Have a blast at your shower! Don't hesitate to stay off your feet and let people play gopher for you (go grab a snack, refill your drink, grab another snack, haha), and if you're able to post pics, please do! (Not sure if The Bump is behaving yet?)
H and I have a 6.5 hour long childcare class today (3 classes condensed into 1 long one). I'm planning on bringing a pillow to sit on occasionally if they have hard chairs like our other class did. They said to pack your own lunch, but they don't have a fridge...so pb&j it is.
@starphish18: I'd also do a ton of snacks for that long of a day. Apples, chips, crackers, and of course all the on-sale post-Easter chocolate I could find on the store shelves!
@SKZW sorry about the bedrest! @rkstro2@CherryBananas my side of the family is Polish so we often have perogies. At Easter we have three kinds: potato and cheese, cabbage and blueberry. My mother and aunts make them by hand and they're delicious.
I was up in the middle of the night as well. Today is my friends baby shower. She's 3 and a half weeks behind me, which is exciting. It's just annoying because it's an hour from my house so that's a whole 5 hours out of my life. The dresser was FINALLY brought upstairs so I can really start putting stuff away, which is exciting
livin541, that sucks that you had to go into work late! We had a broken fridge and a broken walk-in cooler with a big group coming for the weekend, but thank goodness a repair guy was able to come out yesterday and fix the walk-in.
I'm eating my breakfast and reading about mucus plugs because I lost some of mine this morning at 34w5d. Anyone else lose it early? From what I'm reading, it could happen weeks before the baby comes or it could be a sign that arrival is imminent. I also think I just lost a little bit, not the whole thing.
My shower is this afternoon so hopefully I'm not having a baby today! haha

Thanks, @SKZW! I really wish my OB office had weekend hours because I feel like a pain in the ass for paging my doctor on a Saturday. They're going to have him call me back with advice. I have a job where I have to carry a pager every few weeks, and I know it sucks.

Toddler gymnastics and the 7th rainy day in a row. I just need him to play outside without whining to be held all the time! My back feels like it's going to explode.
I did have cjeesecake for breakast though so there is that.
@livin541 that is so bitch worthy. I'd be aggravated. I hope you get some rest.
My work week was busy so I was MIA most of the week. We're making the final push of getting nursery ready this weekend, which is the last free weekend before my EDD.
I'm kindof relieved that I'm due so close to Mother's Day and we don't have to make plans with our families.
@livin541 - what a pain! I hope she can get some rest today.
Today DH is taking DS to soccer so I plan on cleaning during that time so that I can take him to see Beauty and the Beast this afternoon.
I have a laundry obsession right now and have been doing 2-3 loads every single day since Monday. I have washed pretty much every linen we own, all the jackets and sweaters, and every other thing I can come up with. We recently got DD the Ok to Wake clock. I think I set it a little late at 7am. She's been up since just before 6:30 but she's hanging out in her room reading books. So I guess it's working, but I feel bad that I set it so late for her. Also it sounds like she's making a bit of a mess.
Today we are going to a vintage market. Sometime this weekend I need to put the finishing touches on the nursery, pack our hospital bags, and do some freezer meals.
Count me in for the sleeping crappy last night. My only exciting thing is now I'm up early and we are leaving for the Donut Festival in an hour. I already have a nap planned into my day as soon as we get back. Hoping the traffic isn't too bad and that we find a close parking spot.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot - we just bought one too but have yet to start using it with DS. He usually shows up at our bed at around 5:30 am and jumps in bed with us for about an hour but that is just not going to work with a new baby. Thanks for the reminder! I need to set it up today or tomorrow so we have at least a week's practice before baby comes.

@vrj0522 Today was our most "successful" day yet. DD gave up about 10 mins before it was set to light up green. Instead she's figured out that she can hit its foot to turn on the night light setting, which is the same as the "wake up" setting. So she very sneakily turned it on while I watched her on the monitor and then came into our room and said it came on by itself. I can't decide if I'm impressed or annoyed.
I've been lazy so far but I blame my dog and being up in the middle of the night. Just caught up on a couple shows. I really need to do some laundry and work on the nursery. I just want to sleep all day...I'm thinking I'll be taking lots of breaks!
"A day without laughter is a day wasted." ~Charlie Chaplin
Don't know if anyone is following the April/ Giraffe mom spoof on fb but I just saw this the other day and thought it was funny. This lady pretended to be april the giraffe with a camera while she was in labor and wore that mask. Now she finally got to meet April the giraffe and I am pretty sure that little one has a giraffe hat lol
@vrj0522 I've been on the laundry kick this week too! i just want everything clean too, but I'm not sure if it's a spring cleaning or nesting!
We have gymnastics for DD1 today. I am also going to try to meal plan for the next week or so and figure out what I want to get on my last run to Costco before baby comes!

@rkstro2 I was up in the middle of the night doing kick counts too. I was feeling weird movements around dinner time like bubbles or gas movements and i dont think i ever felt it before. So, I was already paranoid from that and then I really didn't feel anything else that night like I normally would. So after waking up to use the restroom in the middle of the night, I started counting the kicks and I think I started feeling them again after changing positions but I was probably too sleepy to know for sure. Good luck at the baby shower.
This weekend is going to be relaxing and probably boring. Im just washing the rest of baby girl's clothes and all of her sheets and maybe wash and sterilize all the bottles. Other than that, I really don't have nothing to do. The nursey is done and the hospital bag is pretty much packed. Just patiently waiting for baby girl.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot - smart girl! I'm thinking we might add a sticker chart prize to it as motivation. He's old enough that he might need something extra to keep him in his room.
Me: 38 DH: 36 Married 8/27/2011 BFP #1 9/28/2011 DS born 5/22/2012 BFP #2 4/24/2013 m/c 4/25/2013 at 4w BFP #3 1/31/2014 DD born 10/14/2014 BFP #4 1/20/2016 m/c 2/12/2014 at 7w2d BFP #5 8/19/2016 DS2 born 4/29/2017 BFP #6 3/7/2018 EDD 11/18/2018
@hp_momma: Good point about the laundry kick being either nesting or spring cleaning. Maybe it's a little bit of both?
@vrj0522: Yes, laundering everything! We did all the winter stuff (gloves, hats) before packing it away, and all the floormats and throw rugs, and it just feels so nice to have that stuff clean!
We had a bonfire last night and were up too late, and DH is slightly hungover. I'm not jealous of the hangover, but I can't wait to have a glass of wine or some whiskey during a bonfire.
We just have a few errands to run, and then we're heading to our local March for Science with our toddler. But the rest of the day/weekend is wide open (yea!), and it's beautiful outside, so we'll probably hang out at a park or something all day.
Hanging out at the mall this morning--tip for FTMs: Most Nordstrom's have mothers rooms in the bathrooms. Changing table, sink, chairs for feeding...so awesome!
@livin541 How frustrating! I hope you ended up getting some rest! @rkstro2 Enjoy your shower! @starphish18 I hope your class is at least informative and interesting. We have an 8 hour one next week!
Baby is in a very painful position, so all of my movements are causing me hot-flash-cringing pain. I am so hot all the time. All I do is sweat. I got some sleep last night, finally, so at least that's helpful. I'm cleaning today and then we're going to a soccer game tonight (when it's supposed to rain, yuck.)
ETA: Anyone have suggestions for moving baby besides spinningbaby exercises? Like, can I sprinkle paprika on my belly to make it move or something like that? Haha.
DH is home this weekend! Which really means just today because he has to drive back to work tomorrow. But I'll take it! He's making the trash and recycling run for me now, and when he gets back I'm taking the World's Longest Hot Shower while he plays with DD.
It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
@livin541 your very legitimate vent reminds me that mine is 100% first world problem.
I was really looking forward to my prenatal massage today. DH is still out of town (returns Tuesday and no more trips till after baby!) and I had signed DD up for a four hour drop off at our Y (they do it a couple nights a month - it's awesome). BUT! Of course she wakes up with a stuffy/runny nose tonight, so that blows all of my lovely alone time plans. Yeah, totally first world problem.
@BabyMC517 that sounds like a fun and productive weekend! Enjoy!
@emilyalso thanks, I was able to get a few hours at least. A nap may be in store today! Have fun with your project - I always leave Hobby Lobby feeling super creative and crafty... and it tends not to pan out for me either!
@rkstro2 it didn't take too long once he arrived, but it was a long wait in the car until he arrived! At this point it is just hard to get comfortable so I was quite a sight to see, I'm sure! Have an amazing baby shower!
@starphish18 thanks! So far, so good today! Doing prep for DS's Birthday Party tomorrow Hope your class goes well today!
@jens_hoes have fun at the shower today and hope you have fun getting stuff put away. Baby organizing is SO much better than normal organizing!
@kns1988 sorry you've been dealing with refridgeration issues too! Such a pain! Have a lovely baby shower!
@erinh2005 have so much fun at Disney! I am jealous!
@wombthereitis I totally feel you on the rain. I could not be more ready for some sun and no more cooped up toddler. Mama can only play pirates so many times...
@clebl24 thank you! Enjoy nursery prep this weekend!
@llenadevida900 that is totally a legit reason to be upset. Alone time for mom is sacred and SO needed sometimes! I hope you can reschedule for when your H is back in town!
Sorry you're stuck on bedrest @SKZW! I'm And @livin541 I am so sorry you had to deal with that in the middle of the night! That sounds like a really crappy ordeal.
@starphish18 I hope your class is good and they give you lots of stretch breaks!
@llenadevida900 that would devastate me! I absolutely look forward to alone time and would be so sad if I had something like that to look forward to and had to cancel. I hope you and your DD have fun and she's extra easy for you!
I got home from the hospital and slept SO much better. I have to sleep sitting up and can't be on my left side at all but H helped me make a giant pillow nest and I actually slept pretty well. The only hard thing is that I can't do ANYTHING with DS. I obviously can't lift him which I knew but pre-surgery they injected me with some radioactive dye to find my sentinel lymph node (the first node that the cancer hits). I knew they were doing it but I didn't know it would make me slightly radioactive. Luckily I thought to ask about hugging/holding a toddler and they told me I need to avoid holding DS close for 3-5 days. He's very happy and entertained with H and my mom here, but it makes me sad that when he wants to snuggle I have to say no.
But it's a beautiful day, I feel pretty good and haven't had any pain killers since 3 am, and I get to shower tonight!
Finished getting the nursery ready, and all the laundry is done. Going to dinner & a move with a couple of friends. Then planning on packing hospital bag. I have been meaning to pack it for a while. Monday I will be at 38 weeks, should probably get to that. Although I have been at 0 for the last two weeks so I'm not too worried. At least the car seat is installed in the car.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
@rkstro2 have fun at your shower!
@livin541that sounds horrible I am so sorry you had to go through that.
@SKZW Sorry about the bed rest, that is a bummer
@starphish18 wow 6.5 hours, don't think I could make it - hope you learn lots!!
@Kipperoo not that I needed another reason to shop/love Nordstrom's but that is NIIICE.
@jayandaplus FX hoping baby turns soon. Ouch!
Hope everyone has a good weekend!!
