Thanks ladies. And sorry for confusing intro! As soon as I can get to a computer I do have some questions about my chart.  This whole no mobile pictures is killing me.

ETA - got my chart to load. Clearly no O visible here but with my irregular cycles this could just be a longer one. But I guess my question is if this looks "normal" for anyone else with pcos? I know we'll all be different but this just seems so up and down to me. I sleep about the same every night and test at the same time every morning. This is also my first time charting/temping so I have no idea whats considered "normal" at all.

  • @mschanandlerbong1214 That chart looks totally normal for a PCOS/anovulatory cycle. Also, borderline PCOS could mean a lot of things. I personally had NIR PCOS, but my ovaries aren't polycystic. Im not insulin resistant so Metformin has no affect on me, as I don't lose weight with difficulty. I was actually able to regulate my cycles with weight loss. But anyway, yes your chart looks normal for PCOS.
  • @saralee797-2 Thanks! I would love any info you have when you find it! I will definitely be doing FETs because we have to do PGS anyways.

@ramzlau-2 and @vflux33 Ohh I never even thought about listening to fertility podcasts! Thanks for the ideas! I listen to podcasts and books all of the time .

  • Quick question for all those doing acupuncture - I'm super interested in it.  Is it covered by your insurance?  If so, how did you get it covered?  If not, how much are you paying for it?  My H has a very stressful job and I've heard acupuncture can really help with stress.

    1/2016 - TTC#1

4/2017 - Initial RE visit, Dx: Severe MFI (Varicocele, 14% motility, 3% progression, but normal count)

  • @RatParade our insurance doesnt cover it- we just pay for it. It isnt super cheap but its also not super expensive ($100/session here) and I do it once a week.

I know some women who swear by it and some women who say it did absolutely nothing for.  I've had it done and it did relax me, but I can't say it did much else.  I think being forced to lay still, not having a tv or your phone, and just focusing on your breath and your body for any extended time is going to help you chill out and relax.  BUT if you want to check it out (cause like I said, some women LOVE it) then you can probably go on to your insurance website to check coverage.  Most insurance plans don't cover it, but you can use any HSA money towards it.
  • Also since this was sort of brought up earlier and RESOLVE just shared on FB, I thought I'd share this article with you ladies about how different faiths see fertility treatments.  It's an interesting read -  while I might not personally agree with or understand some of these views I always appreciate gaining knowledge on different perspectives.  It also makes me more aware of how discussing my fertility treatments around my religious friends might make them feel.

Jeez, only one third find IVF to be morally acceptable? Yeesh! I find it interesting, but I disagree with a lot of the morality thought process behind this stuff.

@RatParade I go to acupuncture once a week.  I love it for the reasons others have stated.  Plus my acupuncturist specializes in fertility and is an herbalist, so she's been great guidance.

It isn't covered by insurance and is $90 a visit.  However, some insurance, including mine, will cover if you're being treated for pain.  I used to go to a different practice for treatment of my migraines, and that really helped.  The side benefit I noticed at the time was that it helped lengthen my LP (when I stopped going, the LP got shorter again, and got better when I moved to the new practice).  I did tell the first acupuncturist that we were TTC, and she tried to throw in whatever she could to help out with that.

ETA:  I definitely recommend giving it a shot.

  • @madspunk I'm in Canada and unfortunately there is only one fertility clinic in my province so I really have no choice but to wait!

SA Feb 2016 & May 2016: Excellent count and motility, 3% morphology
Surgery Dec 2016: submucosal fibroid removed
    Awaiting RE appointment

  • @madspunk thanks for the info that does make me feel better. I genuinely did a double take when I saw 40!  That makes sense about the lupron. I think the plan for me right now is two triggers one of which is Lupron. Hoping that does the trick.
  • @Aurora1973 Ugh the process you're having to go through sounds really confusing and annoying.  I get the liability problem, but they totally could have told you about that earlier.

@ramzlau-2 Glad to hear that your appointment went so well! That sounds kinda awkward about the CEO. I don't have a situation like that, but I'd be worried now that he will feel obligated to ask you about IF every time you're dressed like that, which might be less than ideal if you're in work mode not feeling like discussing it.
  • @aurora1973 That is so frustrating. I have definitely also experienced the run around. I feel like there is no accountability to the "customer" when it comes to this stuff. I hope you are able to find a reasonable solution that does not cost you too much in the end. Good luck!
  • @madspunk Geez! I never imagined it could be that high! I know I will be monitored, I am just worried of course!

i havent had my blood work done yet because I didn't follow the dr orders on abstaining from BD for two weeks and now I'm worried I have to wait another whole two weeks to have it done.

.....orrr I may just go get the blood work and take the Provera anyways.  At this point I'm pretty sure I'm not ovulating, therefore making my chances of getting pregnant very slim.

Im frustrated with myself because I am not being very proactive or doing what needs to be done.  I'm in some kind of rut with myself. Can not get out of bed in the mornings and just in a fog.  Feel like I'm at a dead end with work and my relationship is suffering at the moment for reasons I'm unsure of.  Probably has to do with my current state of down in the dumps.

However I will say whoever that guy is who said children born of ART become a, "product and not a gift," is absolutely full of it!

If that individual thinks I will love my future child any less because medical intervention was needed, he is crazy. That guy clearly has no idea what the "gift" of life really means.

ETA I know I'm being a dirty lurker, but I had to give @BusinessWife a shout-out for her great comment

  • @ramzlau I feel like your CEO was out of line. I'm sorry you kind of felt pressured into telling him the situation. He had no right to pester you even if he thought you really were interviewing somewhere else. I have told my boss because I felt like in my particular situation, telling would make my life easier than trying to hide it, so I went with that, and it's worked out fine.

Thanks, @magnolia131! Also, I always feel like I am Veruca Salt. But I don't think anyone can blame us.
  • @sjb2215 I am not familiar with Coast Supplements. MH is on Clomid and takes Theralogix Supplements that his Urologist recommended.  I know the Theralogix ones have been tested and proven to improve motility and morph.

  • Gosh i've missed so much. Sorry for that. Work work working like 10 hours a day again..

@antoto Thank you very much for sharing all that stuff :) I didn't know it was IF awareness week and those posts and the pure existense of it elevated my mood on monday. Thank for the ED EOD stats. Love me some stats! :) We were struggling with what is the best so..

On the IVF as moral issue debate: religon I understand. Otherwise i don't see how it could be a moral issue. It is treatment. If we want to avoid messing up the natural cycle of selection then let's stop treating TB, the flu and all other diseases and medical issues as well. Imho.

@Aurora1973 I can't even express how sorry i am for you. Jumping through the hoops in vein. Hope you can catch that cancellation post sooner than June ;)

@ramzlau When we started iui i did tell my manager for the same reason (knew there will be lots of appointments). But we have an amazing relationship so for me it was more okay to share with him. He was amazing about it, told me like ten times how he is rooting for us <3
Since that due to corporate changes i got a new boss (above me, under my original boss), to him i only said sg like i'll be gone sometimes :P
