  • Welcome @fiddleRN79, we're the same age as well.  :)
    Me: 39 DH: 39
CP 1/25/16 4.5 weeks, developed Graves' disease
  • Loading the player...
  • @ladipale oh my gosh I am laughing so hard. I totally missed the boat on that one lol. No rants or raves at this point :)

@vlagrl29  thank you so much for the encouragement :)

@Mack2342 thank you for the welcoming :)

@amberruka I wish I had this brain when I was in my 20's. I have loved my 30's (with the exception of recent events).

  • Introduce yourself (if new).
Hello, I am new here.  I introduced my story on another thread TTC#2 (son is almost 2 now)- D&C due to no heartbeat/growth, followed by 2 chemical pregnancies back to back.

    2. Status?

Still miscarrying the most recent CP :/ I think I'm benching myself this month to give my body a rest, but can't help want to continue trying. I wish I could get in to talk to my Doc to understand what he thinks we should do/could be going on here...

    3. R/R?

Weather's been rainy and really killing the good vibes.

    4. GTKY: best book you've read recently

Total money makeover by Dave Ramsey (last year haha, but it totally changed my life) I'm more of a movie buff.

  • @dpjennifer My Mom can be the same way sometimes. I sometimes wonder if it's the generation. She asked me if they were going to do an ultrasound the day of my D&C to "make sure". Thanks for the false hope, Mom :/

@sp128 What is the mandate in MA? I'm also in MA too so interested if we go down that road :)

    1. Introduce yourself (if new).

Hi everyone. I've been lurking for a while... and just reading all your posts has been super helpful- but I figured it's time I finally say hi.
    " Hi "
I had my first pregnancy and first MC recently. I'm 34 and after putting off starting a family to put my career first- We finally felt ready to try. I got a BFP in feb after trying for two months. At my first UC they said we must have been off on our estimate and it looked as if I were two weeks behind... unfortunately at the next check and with more blood work things did not progress. I had a physically easy experience with Cytotec and today AF has returned so I guess that means I'm back in the game. It's been mentally very hard but I have found huge comfort in reading your posts and hearing everyone's experiences. Thank you all!

    2. Status?
With AF back now.. we're ready to try again.

    3. R/R?
curently neutral- no rants or raves. Just coping.

    4. GTKY: best book you've read recently
I spend too much time reading scientific papers for work... so I avoid books- I need to fix that, I miss getting lost in books.
  • msstephanielynn - again, welcome. sorry you have joined us. I understand giving your body a break to heal. Why can't you get in to see your doc?

  • Welcome @msstephanielynn and @jchpg.   Sorry for your losses.

@msstephanielynn I think fertility coverage isn't mandatory in mass, at least part of it. Doesn't have to be awesome, think they just need to offer it. I think I have a link at home. I will look later. What part of mass are you ? The weather is totally gross. Don't look at the forecast for next week...

welcome @jchpg @msstephanielynn and @fiddleRN79 it's a sucky club but I don't know how I would be functioning if it wasn't for this board.

  • @fiddleRN79, Welcome, and sorry you have to join us here. I'll also be trying progesterone suppositories this cycle.

@msstephanielynn, sorry you have to join us here too. Take all the time you need to be emotionally ready to TTC again.

@jchpg, same for you too. If you don't mind my asking, what do you do for a living? I'm in the cancer research field, so I end up reading (and lately writing) a lot of scientific papers too.

Update on me: my HSG went well this morning! All clear, although the right tube took longer to fill up than the left. Dr said that happens sometimes if there is some mucus stuck there. No structural abnormalities, scarring, or fibroids!

@icecubeinthedesert - yea for a good HSG!  Just a warning on the suppositories - stock up on panty liners cause they have a discharge.  I used them for a month and then got a 2nd opinion and my Prog isn't low - it's normal range.  What number was yours?

Also make sure you really track your O accurately.  If they are started before the egg is actually released it can hinder your O because Progesterone is also used as birth control in those BC pills.  I had googled that and brought up the concern to my old OBs nurse but she just thought I was over thinking it and then when I got my 2nd opinion that OB said it could hurt your chances if taken before you actually O'd.

I don't want to scare you I just want to give you my experience on them.  I had no side effects just some more cramping before AF actually came and I actually had to stop them because they delayed my AF - so you might need to stop them a couple days before your schedule AF - obviously PG test first.

  • @vlagrl29, they were normal during my first pregnancy, but they haven't tested during LP. My OB said there is no harm in trying it, but for it to be at all effective, I have to start when I O. I was on the fence about it since I don't have a definitive reason to need it, but I figure it can't hurt to try if the doctor thinks it's a reasonable option.

  • eh - I'd push for a Prog test - you may not even need them. @icecubeinthedesert but I do understand that it can't hurt.

  • @jchpg - what do you do? I have a PhD in engineering and teach so I read way too many technical papers and bad student papers.

Welcome to the board and I'm sorry for you loss.

  • Welcome to all the new members! Nobody wants to join, but it's a great group of ladies

    1. Introduce yourself (if new). Hi! Not new, been here since December

    2. Status? CD3 tta

    3. R/R? Af showed up on CD27 this time around, which means (hopefully) that I'm back on track! My pre MC cycles were 26-27 days. Small victories, lol.

DH and I were talking the other day and I told him I am ready to ttc again soon and he said he's not. This whole time I just thought he was ok with tta because I wasn't ready. It was a bummer to hear he still wanted to wait, but I get it. The loss was just as hard on him as it was on me, and I have to respect his wishes (but it doesn't mean I can't whine about it on here lol).

    4. GTKY: best book you've read recently. I'm currently reading "Crimes Against a Book Club" since it was a free download for Amazon prime members. It's pretty good so far. Tw one of the characters is going through ivf.
  • @icecubeinthedesert congrats on the good report!

@jchpg welcome, so sorry you find yourself here.

@Mack2342 I put on weight too with my losses because I ate all of my feelings and likely some of someone else's too.  I hope you can bounce back quickly :)

@SP128 and @msstephanielynn I'm in the same "neighborhood" as you ladies, living in Mass/RI area. My RE was with Boston IVF and I used their Quincy, Waltham and Providence offices, but they are all over the place. I had a great experience with them on every level. My primary RE actually just left to start a new practice (Dr. Zimon), but Dr. Berger did my retrieval and transfer and he was amazing.  Feel free to PM me if you had any questions about treatment in Mass or anything.

Wishing you both well and as always rooting for everyone here!
