I guess I can start first. I discovered this morning that I (and my 4 children) have headlice. Wooohoooo. Seriously don't feel like I can catch a break.
@bcashaw when my two boys had it this winter, we used the over the counter treatment but a hairdresser friend recommended we use lots of heat on their hair. I dried their hair and even used my straight iron along with the nit comb on them! Of course wash and heat treat as much of your bedding and such as you can. So sorry you are dealing with this!!! hugs!
One guy is bitching to me that he wasn't invited to an event for our group. Okay, well you're not IN our group so that would be why. It doesn't make sense to invite you.
Another guy I work with just tunes you out when he's not really interested in the topic. IDGAF it's your job, PLEASE LISTEN.
Getting a stomach virus when I already used alot of my leave this year and so I will most likely have to take leave with out pay. I struggled this morning to make it into work. I was soo ill then got there and threw up 5 times within the 90 min block. I ended up just leaving early, but I felt so guilty. But not as guilty when I came home and puked again. Wtf.
@bcashaw that's awful. I hope you get a break soon.
Was running a little early on my way to work today soon decided to stop at the stop and shop down the street and trade in all my coins from my car at coinstar. Start it up, get going and realize halfway through it wasn't counting any money. Now I was running a few minutes early, not super early so didn't have time to track someone down to get my money back and probably lost close to $20. Sucky.
Today I have my first ultrasound. I know I should be excited but I am so nauseous I just want to curl up on the couch all day and blow it off. Also, I've had plenty of ultrasounds in the last 2 pregnancies but this time they expect me to drink 1 liter of water in 20 minutes an hour before the appointment and not pee until after the (scheduled) 1 hour appointment. Has anyone else heard of this ?

I can't figure out how to tag you so I quoted you instead. I had to do this for my CVS but I've never heard of it for an ultrasound.
@ElizabethSchuyler where do you work in the DC area? Some days I miss it but most days I'm so happy to be gone! We do have some great friends there though!
@am+mommy I had to drink a lot of water for my first ultrasound but I don't think it was a full litre. They did the abdominal ultrasound first and then let me pee for the transvaginal. I haven't been told to drink water since but I usually go with a somewhat full bladder just in case.
I had to stop and help my FIL this morning, and told him I was on the way to target to trade in DDs old car seat. He told me just to take SILs old seat, which I politely said no thank you to, as she plans on having more kids. He goes on to tell me it's one she doesn't use, because it was in an accident that was bad enough to deploy airbags and total her car. Just no. He told me we were too uptight (meaning me and SIL who bought a new seat after her accident). Not uptight, just safe, thanks.
WTF to my 5 yr old's stomach pain. It's hurt for a few days and we cannot figure out what's wrong. Now his tonsils are swollen, so I'm taking him in. He never complains, so it's hard to figure out what's actually wrong when he does hurt.

I only had to do this for my anatomy scan

My WTF is my cravings. Why am I suddenly craving sausage and egg salad pita pockets?
For all of my early ultrasounds I always had to go in with a full bladder. I usually cheated and peed just a little bit because it frankly gets too damn painful, but as long as you have something in your bladder, you should be fine. It's really just so they have an internal marker of "oh, there's the bladder, so we need to go this way." An entire liter sounds a little excessive to me. They do realize you are pregnant and peeing every 5 seconds, right?
@Mariposa_767s - Kids often when say their stomach hurts when something is off. They have troubling identifying and describing what is actually wrong. And it is SO hard to figure out what is wrong with them. My DS2 also never complains - even when he has a fever - it's hard. One time he told me very calmly that his ear hurt - knowing him I immediately took him to the Dr. and he had a serious double ear infection - no other symptoms no other complaints.
@2dash it drives me crazy sometimes! Hopefully the doctor can figure it out and it's not strep. The last time he had strep, he didn't have a high fever and said his throat didn't hurt. I took him in because of the rash. Even the doctor was surprised the test came back positive. Now I'm kicking myself because he has wanted popsicles for a week straight and I should've seen it as a possible sign.
Today, I drove 45 mins with 2 of my kids to my OB's office to have blood work done for my Panorama test. I went in, checked in, waited for the lab tech, she came and got me, brought me back, drew my blood, and sent me on my merry way saying that I would have the results in a week or two. I walked down the hallway and my phone rang. I looked at it and it was the OB office (I immediately thought I must have forgotten something, so I quickly answered the phone). It was a nurse from the practice calling to suggest that I wait to have my Panorama test done till 11 weeks (I'm 10w2d today and was told after 10 weeks was good). She went on to explain that before 11 weeks, its possible to need a re-draw. Before she could go any further, I cut her off and explained that I just walked out of the office from having it drawn. Her response was, "oh well, guess we'll wait and see!" Gah!!! I've had this scheduled for 2 weeks and you call me the day of, after the time of my appointment???? WTF!!
I don't even know where to start here.... wtf so much. @mariposa_767s I hope your son feels better soon @cmessamore hopefully you don't need a redraw because that whole situation sounds like a hassle. @ariasbabyblog I crave redbull. All day everyday. It's SO annoying. Thanks everyone for the headlice sympatbuy and advice. I'm pretty used to this happening because they have cousins who ALWAYS have lice ( to the point where we just treat them as soon as they get home from their houses now) so I usually do a listerine treatment then pull a straightener through everyone's hair.
@cmessamore I did the panorama too. My OB said you can get the blood draw anytime after 9 weeks. I got mine drawn at 9w 5d and had the results back in 8 days - no issues. I am hopeful you will be fine and not have to re-draw.
Edited to add that even their website says 9 weeks.
@MissMonroe11 Thank you!! That makes me feel better!!!!
@DuchessOfCambridge and @bcashaw thanks for feeling annoyed with my situation! I've been moping about it all day and DH is not concerned at all, but I'm going to worry for the next two weeks!
Mine is.... kind of a symptom also. I'm getting heart burn. At about 3 or 4 am. It wakes me up. So i lie here trying to make it back to sleep.... yeah right! Ugh. Need sleep!
I've been sick since Friday and want nothing more than to curl in a ball and sleep. My one consolation to coming to work today rather than taking a sick day was that we were told we would be let go around 3:30 because they're hosting a "We Survived Tax Season" Party at a local venue and it starts at 5. Just found out they probably aren't letting us go early and just expect us to go straight there from work. Thanks for the party and all, but I'm sick and tired, it's at a bar, and I have a kid... not letting me off after you said you would... not cool. ETA: So now I'm bumping instead of working...

Wtf to my brother. It's 90 degrees here and they don't have their air conditioner on. I've got a killer headache from sitting in a hot house for hours. Plus we walked a mile to get my nephew from school and it was too hot in the house to get cooled back off.
@zigzag8412 no way would I be going to that party, I have a class to go to tonight that I'm already wondering how I will be able to stay awake through.
This is kind of a long rant:
Whenever I talk about maternity leave or daycare or picking out baby things my bff will dramatically go on about how she's sooo happy she doesn't have to think about any of that stuff because it sounds sooo miserable and not fun at all and she's DEFINTELY not ready. First of all, I'm having a baby so that's a little bit rude? Second of all, might I suggest someone is a teensy bit jealous and is making a big show about how she isn't in that place yet? I hope all of my friends don't do this because it will be a very easy way to make a pregnant me feel very alone.
Also, maybe it's just me, but I've cared about maternity leave pretty much since I learned about it because I care about women and parents in general having time with their children and women having time to heal. I didn't need to be even close to thinking about becoming pregnant to care about it. My bff also works for a human rights organization so I'm just surprised by this reaction.
WTF to the coworker who just declined a meeting because it's during her lunch time. We work for an international company and will have people across the country and overseas on this call. This is the time that worked. Be an adult, eat lunch at 12:30 instead of 12. Or mute your headset and eat on the call.
@BayCamp This might be my biggest WTF but our state has a code that the AC doesn't need to be turned on until May 15th. Furthermore the heat needs to remain on until May 1. We've been fighting and found that our county didn't quote the entire code that the buildings can change over within 14 days due to weather (It's going to be 90 degrees here on Saturday). What a joke. We've had the news, the state, and the county contact our building updating their code yet engineers are supposedly refusing to come out due to fines they believe they'll incur. Everyone is stupid and I hate them and somehow the hot tenants are wrong.
The good news is every representative I spoke with believes this code is ridiculously out of date and hopefully we'll have that changed. It has to be at the state level though which might be more difficult.
My doctor (her nurse but she signed it) only filled out half of my FMLA paperwork so now my work is talking about termination! Obviously I called and got it all figured out right away and I don't think they can legally fire me (she was just being a b*tch) but either way, WTF
