Re: UO Thursday 4/20

  • Add me to the list of people with a Grandmom that says "warsh." We're from Philly, I have no clue where she got it from. She also says "wan," as in: "I wan at Bingo last week!"

@labby18 I too am not a fan of milk... and my dad is also from Pittsburgh so I definitely know that weird "melk" pronunciation you speak of.

Yeah and I was raised in VA and my mom is from a different country. I have a pretty effed up vernacular. I also was in speech therapy for like 7 years...hence why my accent(s) isn't as bad as it could be. But I'm so glad I don't say "warsh" lol
Ahhh my grandmother says "warsh" she was raised in rural Virginia. Is this how they say it there? It's awful. And "warshington"
If she's from the northwestern part of the state yes. I'm from the coast. I think "warsh" is an Appalachian vernacular. My fam in Pittsburgh say "warsh" and "melk" just YouTube Pittsburgh Dad and he sounds just like my Uncle.
  • All I've been craving this pregnancy is icing..  hahahah

Hahahahahahaha! My dog went from being my "baby" to being the most annoying thing on the planet/one more thing I have to take care of during the day after my son was born! Sometimes I feel bad about it but usually I'm like meh. She's a dog.
This is my life. And my baby isn't even here yet.
  • Can't get on board with the food UOs. Totally agree with the pets thing though!

UO: I find those one piece jumpsuit things totally ugly and unflattering. I have yet to see one on a real person that looks good.
Lol, well I think I look really great in rompers ;) i have two and they are very flattering in pictures. I love them and wore them all the time last summer.  Gap and Jcrew made some cute ones.
  • I'm also in the I-hate-when-people-call-pets-their-children camp. Throw tomatoes at me, but boy does it annoy me. A girl at work is due in a few weeks, and is still going around saying she still doesn't know if she'll love her baby as much as she loves her cats... probably the biggest eye roll of my life.
My sister, who doesn't have any kids and doesn't intend to (by choice), absolutely thinks her two dogs are equivalent to other people's children and it is SO annoying. When my other sister will say something about my nephew, she feels the need to reply with something that she thinks is a corresponding comment related to one of her dogs. No, your dogs are not the same as children.
