I have to AW a sec for my H...we were just chatting about how are days are going over lunch via text and I asked if he slept better because the night before he said he didn't sleep well. He said that he slept but didn't feel necessarily rested when he woke up. So, I said sorry and all that jazz. He texts back "its okay, I know you're having a harder time than me"....I love him.
Don't have a dash button, but I think its an actual button...not 100% though

@Louise_Belcher okay, I just looked up the dash buttons because I was curious...you don't have to have a physical button to push, you can do it from your phone's app or on their website. You can purchase the wifi button to have at home if you want though.

@SWE2@BabyMC517@Jens_Hoes@nda_roxybabe@Louise_Belcher@SKZW (wow tag mania) I set up a general shopping list on Amazon Prime for essentials like Advil, Razors, Pet Foods (On subscription), Brita Filters, batteries, basically anything we replace all the time so we can just log on at 3 am in exhaustion when we suddenly realize we're out and order for next day delivery with the click of a button! Anytime in the last month I've remembered something new, I add it.
In the garage we have stocked up on: TP Paper Towels Dish soap Trash Bags All Detergents Cat Litter Pet food (the rest we may order on Amazon for the first couple months) Pet prescriptions Coffee Creamer (the non-dairy kind keeps forever in the fridge) Makeup staples (for me that's foundation, powder)
I also set up a favorites list on Sephora.com for the fancier stuff so I can log on and order fast without having to search for it. I realize this has digressed away from SO Rants & Raves. Sorry!!
@BabyMC517 Ah! The app makes more sense to me. A physical button in my home that buys things every time it is press is terrifying with a button pushing crazed toddler on the loose! I would show up home to a shipment of toilet paper the size of my house!
I haven't stocked up on anything (other than unnecessary baby things)... leaving the house to get stuff is going to be my excuse to get out of the house...
last time around it was actually easier to leave the house than to stay at home with my DS. The car ride would put him to sleep and then he would sleep while I shopped. At home, he would just cry...
this time, I plan to leave both kids at home with husband while I slowly stroll around the grocery store or wherever enjoying some peace and quiet.
Just to continue the digression... another essential I plan to stock up on is paper plates and maybe even some plastic silverware for days I just don't think I can stand to do dishes or guests come over etc. I've always wanted a dash button but it does seem like asking for trouble!

Thank you for reminding to pick up this stuff! I had this idea months ago and look at me, with no paper plates in my house... From what I've read about the physical dash button is that every time it's pushed, it sends you an email, and you get x amount of time to cancel the order, like 24 hours, before it's processed. This way when the husbands actually help around the house and push the button after you already took care of it, you won't get 2 of the same thing.
Totally getting more paper plates and plasticware. We had some when we first moved and still have a bunch of plates left, but definitely need some of the plasticware! Our dishwasher is so loud (maintenance is hopefully coming to look at it tomorrow) that I don't want to mess with it for a little bit with a newborn. I know they need to get used to noises and all, but if we can't sit in the living room with it running I'm not sure how well he'll do in his nursery which is right across from the kitchen...

Rave: DH did laundry. Yay! Ok, so he usually does most of our laundry.
Rant: He dried (and shrunk) my maternity jean shorts and now the band seems annoyingly tight. Or maybe my stomach ballooned more between washes? Nah. I'm blaming him.
Does anyone have a dash button and like it? That is like an actually button you have at your house and can press right?
We have several. The best is our TP one. I tell H were running low in our linen closet (or he notices), he presses the button and 2 days later we've got a box at a door step. I also have a dash button for trash bags (when the box starts feeling light we give it a press), dishwasher soap, toilet bowl cleaner (we use the clorox scrubby wand thingy), and I think we have another, but I cant think of what. Then for dog food I set up a subscription based on how quickly he goes through a bag.
ETA : Those are all physical buttons. You can push it 100 times, but it'll only send the first time you pushed it. Then once that item is received you could push it again, but much lower risk of getting a crazy amount of stuff from over zealous button pushers aka toddlers.
@nda_roxybabe Ah!!! The built in toddlerproof makes it far less scary to own a physical button. Because if something even remotely looks like a button he will press it a hundred times!
I have a rave finally! H cleaned out my car (vacuumed and detailed) and installed the car seat today.
i also have a small rant though, he then came inside playing with DS running around the house, when he stepped (jumped?) onto a belt that he had left on the floor puncturing 1/2 an inch into his foot, so I've been playing nurse to his blunt force trauma injury and had to bandage and ice it for him -.- good thing blood doesn't worry me

@PartiallyDomesticated: Wow, that sounds painful! How did your son react to that? ... And hooray for a nice clean car---you're one step closer to ready!
@PartiallyDomesticated, I'm so jealous that he cleaned the car for you! I've mentioned that I want that done a bunch of times, but I have a feeling I'll be doing it.
