We ate salmon, lima beans and brown rice. I gained 4lbs this week. Yipes! Tonight we got back to a more typical, healthier eating style.
I was hella productive today. Did laundry, got out to the store and hung out outside with DS. Did some weeding and worked in the garden. It's looking respectable. I really want to plant a fig tree and turn a big ugly patch of grass into a succulent garden. We'll see.
We had a BBQ buffet because DHs aunt is in town who lives in Ghana. Sooo I had BBQ, hash and rice, mac and cheese, Lima beans, fried chicken, black eyed peas, fried okra, corn fritters, and banana pudding. Yikes.
So I found out at my baby appointment today that my ob at my last appointment put my due date as 2 October when she ordered my anatomy scan that's why it was scheduled when I'm 24 weeks. The new ob called radiology and got us rescheduled sooner for this upcoming Tuesday!
All the talk of biscuit and gravey has me craving that now. I wish someone else in my house liked it and I would fix it more often . But since they don't I'll be going out to get some.
Today sucks balls. There is bad flooding in our area with another 5 inches still to drop tonight. I got called home from work this morning to help dig trenches to keep the house from going under water. The water got just to the lip of my front door before the trenches got the water to recede a bit. Thankfully I don't think it was high enough to damage the flooring. I was able to stop up the little bit of water that started to come in the door with a couple towels.
Thankfully DH's friend came over to help. They are still working like crazy to dig out a line of trenches to try to shift the flood waters away from the house. I had to come in to dry out and make lunch.
Those poor guys are working with pick axes to dig the trenches in the rain now. A mini escalator should be delivered shortly. Definitely wasn't planning to have to drop $300+ on an emergency equipment rental. Ugh!
Stupid rain needs to go away! It's supposed to keep raining through Monday. :-(
@jnr6510 oh no! I hope the trenches work and the guys are able to finish them in time! Can you sandbag the doors at all? We could use your rain if you want to send it here

I would love to send you all the rain. We have already gotten 4-5 inches, with another 5 expected by tomorrow morning. The guys are still working. A couple guys from the firehouse came by for a bit with the K-12 saws to cut the trenches through concrete walkways so the water doesn't follow the walkways back to the house.
I have been been banished to the indoors because apparently pregnant ladies must not get wet in the rain. So yay for coffee / hot tea duty!
It is 80 degrees here today, and will be 80 degrees tomorrow, and I've been so f-big warm and thirsty all day. I am officially not looking forward to being giant all summer long.
Had my first, "Are you pregnant?" from a stranger today. She was a super sweet lady who was cleaning my engagement ring. I seriously thought this was the last shirt in my closet that was hiding the bump, but apparently not. Kinda excited that people are noticing
So sad I can't post my anatomy scan picture! We actually got really good ones with this pregnancy. For DS the printer streaked and the photos weren't anywhere near as clear.
Also, I'm ready to move to Alaska. Or Antarctica. Or somewhere that never gets warmer than 75 degrees.
I got my galaxy 8! New phones are confusing. I think I'm getting old oh, but I didn't get that glass of wine after all, so you can let go of your pearls now.

It's a slippery little sucker. Thank goodness for a case with grip. I think I like it. The camera seems to be significantly better and I liked the photos with my last galaxy. Get yourself a good deal on it. We needed new phones and a new carrier.
