I thought of my uo related to thank you notes: I have gotten several after weddings that are custom made cards with a picture of the bridal couple from the wedding as the image on the front of the card. They always strike me as really tacky, like they view the thank you note primarily as an opportunity to AW the wedding photos. I don't know why I feel that way, because I don't feel the same about save the date cards with engagement pictures on them, but I really dislike those cards.
I loved ordering nice invitations for my kids 1st birthdays. My son may have gotten one for his second too, but now I am so lazy a fb event does the trick! We typically do just small family parties so it is pretty informal anyway. I try and write thank yous for gifts or things given, but sometimes it gets away from me.

@erinh84 I overheard a girl in Starbucks today telling her mom it tasted like "unicorn poop." I'll take her word for it and keep my distance as planned.
I think baby names board is a snooze fest. I love talking names, but they never seem to be objective and suggest the same old names every time. Someone literally said that 'Annette' was "underused and fresh." Everyone has an Aunt Annette. Annette is not fresh.
Thank you notes for funerals????? That's a thing??? @ellie111227 I totally ordered custom wedding thank you cards using one of my wedding pics and hand wrote notes on the backside haha. We took a picture with all the attendees outside our venue and we used that as the thank you pic. For anyone who didn't attend that se
I have to say the Saturday ticker change thread is on its game. @graceriesz keeps a tight ship and its always up and running by the time I wake up. #blessup
@Knottie42089123 Thanks I enjoy the ticker changes (obviously), I like celebrating another week further along and while some weeks are slow, most times we have good conversation.
@Elyse1384 Haha, well, like I said, my feelings about it aren't super logical. I also think I would find it less AW-ish with a picture of all the attendees, not just the couple. I've never seen one like that.

I agree!! I've been frequenting it lately because I'm stuck on our name. We have a couple we like but I can't decide and I need fresh ideas and I feel like the same 10 names are given over and over. I thought about posting but I feel like I'll be given the same list they give everyone else!
I hate that it's common practice to say you're pregnant for 9 months. 40 weeks is obviously 10 months.
What? No it isn't. Months aren't 4 weeks long (except February). From my lmp (September 9) to my due date (June 16) is nine months and one week, and two of those weeks were before ovulation. Thinking of pregnancy in ten (four week long) segments would be easier, but that's not what months are.

Ditto. Pregnancy is calculated as 280 days after the first day of your last cycle. 280 days divided by 9 months is 31 days, or the number of days in 7 of the 12 months. So yea, pregnancy is slightly more than 9 months, but it's nowhere close to 10.
I got pregnant in September. I'd be having this baby in July if pregnancy was 10 months long. No thank you! My LMP is August 31st, but I ovulated late so my EDD is 6/13. Still not 10 months even if you add in those first three-ish weeks during which I wasn't technically pregnant yet.
Pregnancy certainly feels like 10 months at times. Especially the closer I get to June. I bet May feels like 3 months by itself. And it we get more 85 degree spring days that make me swell it's definitely going to be a long 6 ish weeks until this baby comes!
But I usually just stick to weeks when talking about length of pregnancy. It's just easier!
I always compare human pregnancy to an elephants pregnancy. Those suckers have to carry their babies for 2 whole years before giving birth. That is a hard hell no.

Did you mean 7 lbs 12 oz or 7 lbs 2 oz? Because those are different (hint: 7.12 is 7 lbs 2 oz).
