@Imajin99 I don't know the sensitivity of the clear blue but have always used frer. At 12dpiui it was barely positive so if you implanted late it could have been too soon to pick it up. Good luck!
@daisy222-2 - ugh, I am sorry about the CP, but also really hopeful for you - like you said, after years and years of negatives, this means: "that my eggs and my husbands sperm can in fact make an embryo". I'm unexplained too, so that's a huge question for me - like, is it that my H's sperm can't even get into my eggs, or that the cells can't replicate together, or that...? Any signs of progress, at least for me, are good signs. I hope that is your first of several BFPs, and that the next one sticks! Good luck to you!
@rayoflight80 - yes to mood swings. But for me it's hard to tell what of the mood swings are the hormones and what is the depression/stress related to IF and our string of failures.
For example, I've noticed sometimes I'm much clingier than usual with my husband. Usually, if I see him talking to an attractive female coworker or waitress, it's NBD. On my 2-3 clomid cycle, that kind of thing made me so upset - like, I get jealous and feel bad and insecure. But I never, ever felt like that when I wasn't on clomid. It was crazy - it's so out-of-character for me, that as soon as I felt it, I was like: "this must be the clomid", just observing the emotions like a zoologist: "the mating female exhibits territorial behavior".
But then the other day, I started crying - HARD - about something super minor. My H had made a mildly critical comment about my driving or something, and I was so so upset. I thought about it after and I realized that it was because the IF has taken such a toll on my self-esteem - just the actual work of getting up and trying again and again - that it's making it much harder for me to keep my cool in other situations. When I have healthy self-esteem, little comments and criticisms are like nothing, it's like: "You know, he's probably right, I probably should have signalled sooner", but when I'm down like I am these days, it's like: "THIS TOO?!"... My H is learning to give me a wide berth, and I am trying to take more time for self-care, just to keep something in my tank.
@Imajin99 you could wait a couple days and try again. A couple of my friends never got a positive pregnancy test until after their missed period.

@Daisy222-2 I'm so sorry about your CP. And also that's really frustrating that it seems like they proceeded with an IUI knowing that the embryos would probably be an issue. I hope you're able to get an answer from your RE about his/her reasoning.
@lmajin99 I've heard that the clear blue tests aren't so reliable early on, but I can provide zero evidence to support that statement. I know a lot of people use FRER because they're more reliable, but that's just hearsay on my part. I haven't done any research into it. I personally have just used Wondfos but I've also never gotten a BFP so who knows about their reliability compared to the other brands. They're certainly cheaper, though.
@funkykey Hello! I was so happy to see you over here, too! I took a bit of a bump break for a couple weeks, but now that we're moving forward I'm back and determined to be more active. I mostly bump mobile, but now I know how you're able to write such wonderful long posts! I'm illicitly bumping from my work computer and it's so much easier, haha.
My update today is that I did NOT get a positive OPK last night, which was wonderful! So I did my trigger shot and we're set for our IUI tomorrow morning (barring any flight delays or United-related mishaps on DH's part). Mostly I'm looking forward to several hours of uninterrupted HGTV, since that's the station they have the TV tuned to in my RE's waiting room. My first IUI the wait took forever and I powered through a marathon of Tiny Houses.
congrats @wabash15 and @lindyc13 that's amazing news! I can't wait to hear about betas!
@daisy222-2 How frustrating! Did they say anything to you about the eggs growing fast or something before the IUI? So they canceled the IVF and then converted to IUI? I remember you saying that but wasn't sure why. Sorry for a million questions.
@lmajin99 Apparently the early HPTs detect a lower level of HCG and so there is a pretty big difference in brand. I'm not an HPT fan because I hate seeing the negative and would rather a blood test but I do think the early ones are more effective. Especially as early as day 12.
As for me: I have 3 follies and IUI on Friday the 21st. Beta on May 4th. Another long cycle for me. My OPK is still totally negative. One of the follies was 17mm yesterday and the other two were 13 so that 17 might take over. Who knows. I trigger on Wednesday though. I keep remembering that woman that had the quintuplets and has a reality show had 2 mature and 2 that were too small and ended up with 5. HA!

@lmajin99 I bet it's just too early. My SIL didn't get positives until she was 5 days late!
I had my follicle scan today. Only only mature follicle, what she called my dominant follicle. I had two other smaller ones on my left side, which she said probably won't mature. She didn't tell me the sizes (I should have asked). I am set up for my IUI on Friday afternoon.
Follie check in the morning and hopefully we will trigger tomorrow, the IUI on Friday. Eeek! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, finally feeling a little hope to think there's a "possibility".

@Irisheyes81 They cancelled the IVF b/c of just having 3 follies, but also b/c they were weirdly large for being so early in the cycle. Our nurse said these eggs were not likely to result in successful fertilization (via ICSI) because they were immature in age although mature in size. But they still suggested converting to IUI. We were confused by this at the time... if the eggs are not likely to fertilize, why should we do an IUI? And they gave some unsatisfactory answer like "well, they have a better chance of fertilizing inside your body". Hmmm. Honestly at the time I was so sad about the IVF being cancelled that I jumped at this option so as to not waste the cycle and to give myself some hope, but looking back it was probably dumb. Good luck on Friday! FX for less than quintuplets

Had baseline US and BW today. 25 AFC, so dr thinks 100mg clomid will work well. Started it today. next US is on the 24th. Then we figure out when to trigger- so I guess, technically, I am in the wrong "month" now? Sorry!!
Hey all, just an update that while I was going to start this cycle after a month off, my DH and I are going to take a few months off because our schedules are not lining up to be home enough weeks in the month to make all the necessary appts. We also decided that the stress of planning around all of my work travel wouldn't help matters any. So thanks for putting me on the list, but I'll check back in when we officially start IUI again! For now, it's fun intercourse, timed intercourse with OPKs and hopefully no stress!
sad about this and want to get going again but don't want it to be a bad experience. I'll take a month off of travel in august and try then. Who knows, maybe 2 years of trying will trigger a new mindset about it for us? Ha! Yeah right

@Irisheyes81 We pay $650 per IUI and the insurance possibly stops covering their 50% after 3, so we could get a bill for another $650 for this last dumb round But yes, they are making changes for next IVF due to the whole ordeal! Adding lupron in with the stims, which is supposed to make follies grow go more slow and steady. I am currently happy w/ my clinic despite it all because the weird bleeding I've been having post-CP counts as my period because my hcg is back to zero(ish), and so we can start the IVF try 2 straight away! (well, 2 weeks on the pill first). I was worried they would make me wait a month to get things back to normal after the CP. Also my nurse feels bad about the whole ordeal and gave me free cetrotide and lupron today, enough for the whole cycle Do I remember right that you are also in CO? you don't happen to go to CCRM, do you?

@bpietronicco good to know! How are you feeling today? My cough is still lingering. I hope it doesn't flair up during the procedure.
@daisy222-2 I don't go to CCRM. I know they are the best and conceptions too but I just can't bring myself to spend the kind of money they charge. They have three marketing people on staff. I struggled because their live birth rate is inanely high. Like the best in the country. However, my friend had a bad experience before getting to IVF and said they push to the more expensive. Who knows if that's true and I might be knocking on their door after this weeks frustrations with my RE. Do you go there? If so, you are at the same place as Gulianna Ransic Sounds like you have a regimen and get to move forward. I wouldn't call the CP month a total loss. You know everything is working now!
@kristimh80 good luck today!!! I hope you get to trigger and have IUI tomorrow. I'm totally stressed because I barely had any ovulation cramps. Last month was unbearable and this time was barely twinges. Granted, last time failed. I really hope the trigger worked.

@wabash15 & @lindyc13 - CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Good luck to everyone who is waiting on BFPs!

@lindyc13 Congratulations!

HA!
I had my follicle scan today. Only only mature follicle, what she called my dominant follicle. I had two other smaller ones on my left side, which she said probably won't mature. She didn't tell me the sizes (I should have asked). I am set up for my IUI on Friday afternoon.
@lindyc13 Looking forward to seeing the number double for you!
J1006 Good luck with the IUI on Friday, it only takes 1!
Irisheyes81 Good luck with the IUI!
Thinking of everyone this week!

@daisy222-2 that is so weird the follicles grew so quickly. Are they going to modify something for the IVF? Do you pay out of pocket for the IUI? I pay like $450 per IUI so I would have been so mad if they said that to me!! What an emotional roller coaster for you guys this past month!
Miss you guys!

@J1006 3:30! I thought 11pm was bad. One more day!!
@bpietronicco I have a cold right now and have for the past week. Do you think colds effect IUI? My acupuncture lady didn't seem concerned. I didn't say anything to the RE
We pay $650 per IUI and the insurance possibly stops covering their 50% after 3, so we could get a bill for another $650 for this last dumb round But yes, they are making changes for next IVF due to the whole ordeal!

@J1006 thinking of you! Fx fx fx for today.
Don't stress too much @Irisheyes81. Last month I don't remember feeling anything after my trigger. I swear our body plays tricks on us!

@Ilky Welcome! Wow! 4 @20mm. You are stocked up! Do you know if there are two in each ovary? You muct be getting uncomfortable. I had a 24.5 and 28.5 in one ovary and it did not feel good until I ovulated. So much pressure. I am very excited for you!
@Imajin99 So very sorry. I know how devastating that is! Be good to yourself and plan a special treat.

@JaeJayStark - One on left side and 3 on the right side. My first time I had one big one on one side and one medium size on the other. It hurt when I ovulated and after. So, trying to brace myself for the ovulation pain. I just pray time has come!
Good luck ladies!
