I don't get why he doesn't just pay for it with his own money! Yes he is technically entitled to it as President but he is really taking advantage. Can I please redirect my taxes from his golf trips to helping feed children? Effing ridiculous.
But of course if we refuse to pay our taxes that support such idiocy, we'll be sent to jail.

I just lurked on the vaccine debate in October and I just have to say, those ladies are amazing. I had so many opinons, and the women on that thread addressed them all.
@DuchessOfCambridge I lurk that board since I'm borderline oct/nov. the "anti-vaxx" poster is a reg trying to stir up some drama. Rereading it after that had me cracking up. She played her part well!
@DuchessOfCambridge lol!! Since I use a birth center there are a lot of moms there that don't vax. I'm always in the "thanks but no thanks" group when it comes to play date invites. I'm around infants far too much to bring any of that mess home with me! Medical science is a wonderful thing!
@BayCamp agreed. I love science. But was the antivax stuff really a joke? I'm so confused, I guess I wouldn't think to pretend to hate vaccines for funsies? Lol.

From what I understand she was trying to lure out people that were anti vaccine. If you read the randoms thread the whole thing was staged right from the posting. Must have been a slow day at the office
My eyes roll so hard the minute somebody uses the term "big pharma". It was a fun thread to read. Now, I just need to waste 26 more minutes before it is quitting time.
My pediatrician will not accept patients any more unless they vaccinate. They will talk with couples who want to stretch the schedule out a little and they will accept some patients who can't be vaccinated - like if they are too medically fragile. But they draw a pretty hard line. It was one of the things that drew us to them.
They said they used to accept any patients, but they had to shut down and be quarantined so many times for things that were preventable that they didn't think it was fair to all the other patients to have to be shut down for weeks at a time or to continually expose their staff that way.
So I saw (but didn't read) an article posted on FB that Trump makes money when he goes to his place in FL because taxpayers pay his hotel for places for his security and staff to stay in.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@NYTino24 I figured as much, honestly. All the Secret Service and staffers have to stay and eat somewhere. Nothing like using your political office to line your own pockets...
If he owns the hotel, couldn't he let secret service stay and eat for free? Come on! It's so horrible that he's benefiting from this! If it were Obama, he'd be tweeting up a storm.
@lahansen of course not, why would he want to show everyone he doesn't pay his taxes? My parents are immigrants and they have paid taxes the whole time they've been here. All of them. And it really hurts them financially to do so, especially when I was growing up. Who is he to build an effing wall and say all these things about how bad immigration is when they pay taxes and he does what he can to get out of them? America doesn't have money because these a-holes with large companies don't want to pay up and use tax havens! I HATE TAX HAVENS.
@DuchessOfCambridge You tell 'em! I just can't get over working and middle class people paying higher tax rates than the uber-wealthy and mega-corps. 110% bullshit.

@DuchessOfCambridge I honestly think it's more than that. I think he's not worth nearly as much as he says he is, and his tax returns would reveal that, and then one of the very few things he was riding on (that he's a good business man and this country should be run like a business, so obviously he's the right man to do it), would be proved phony. He's probably doing a little better now, because people are paying out the wazoo for mar a lago memberships(/presidential access), and our tax dollars are funneling into his businesses, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's been struggling a bit (by his standards).
@SweetMelissa4 that's true too, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a combo of not having as much as he says but also his businesses using tax havens. He may not be as wealthy as he says he is but he's still not unwealthy by any means. I seriously hate the businessman argument. He literally did not pay people for the work they did. That's not being a good businessman, that's stealing.
I was pretty surprised to hear Aaron Hernandez committed suicide. Just from my perspective, he seemed very arrogant and smug during all the trials. Kind of makes me feel like he was convinced by his lawyers...with potential motivation being that it would protect his estate and go to his daughter.
I wasn't sure where to put this but I feel like it fits under current events. My 4 year old niece spent last night yelling "My body, My choice!" after my sister told her not to call herself a poopy butt. She is 4 and already gets it better than some of our men in power.
Our leadership at work just sent an email expressing their support of the March for Science and very eloquently explained the importance of the March and how the current administration is attacking science. I knew how our leadership felt but reading this email made me so incredibly proud I started crying at my desk. Anyone going to the March in DC tomorrow? I wish I could.
@jess0211 That's wonderful. Our leadership are so terrified of seeming partisan it sometimes handicaps us on issues like this that really shouldn't be partisan at all. I'm glad you aren't facing the same.
We are marching in St. Louis tomorrow. Henry has a shirt that says "Save the planet for me", DH has a shirt that says "Science is not a liberal conspiracy", and mine has Smoky the Bear on it with his first raised and says "Resist". I can't wait. Toddler's first protest
I had planned on marching in my city. But I'm feeling deterred by the crappy weather on top of the concerns I had about wearing myself out too much (having to park far away, handling DS on my own, plus the inevitable standing around waiting before actually marching.). The women's match was exhausting too. Invigorating and amazing, but exhausting.
Is anyone else frustrated that Fox and O'Reilly have paid off a bunch of women over the years to "go away" and then Fox also turned around and gave O'Reilly $25million? There are many, many families who could've used that money. So much money is wasted when there are people who desperately need it.

YES. This to me says sure you might get fired for sexually harassing but you'll get ALL THE DOLLARS so being fired won't matter. Disgusting.
@jess0211 We demonstrated last weekend for the Tax Day protest, and will demonstrate next weekend for climate change. Last weekend we were 2 out of 10 people who showed up to demonstrate in our little town.... hoping we get more next weekend!

There's an animal shelter a few hours from here that's just been struggling so much. They set up a go fund me to literally be able to pay their electric bills, their employees, and just generally be able to not shut down. It's for $5,000. That's it. $5k would change everything for them and our stupid president is just off wasting millions golfing and going to his stupid resort and they just need $5k to save these animals. It just makes me so mad. It's not fair and I've ugly cried more than once over this today. This is a coal town that's been hit hard lately and was promised not to be left behind any longer. He so clearly lied to them. I hate it.
@ArtificialRed do you want to share their go fund me page? I'm happy to share it on my social media. I know a lot of animal lovers who would be happy to donate?

All of this and animal shelter is interchangeable with so many things. I always feel like the wrong people are the richest.

That is so sweet. Thank you. (Made me cry again lol)
@DuchessOfCambridge you are absolutely right. I had been thinking about how it's so many things. Medical bills we can't afford. Schools that need fundraisers. Places of worship that have been vandalized. It's obscene that it's come to this. It's also beautiful to see how people give and how lives are changed everyday from crowd funding.
