@mariposa_767s maybe fizzy water will help? Just check sodium levels before you buy! @ShePersisted thank you thank you thank you I had sex this morning and I was like NOPE too much wiping I can't deal, go away. @slaven I'd go ahead and donate them, because you're doing a huge move it's not lIke you're getting a moving truck and driving an hour away... @dragonfly87 pretty sure week 8 was the worst week of my entire life. It got better for me partway through week 10 and now halfway through week 11 it's just a distant memory! You're right it's all worth it.
I'm so tired. So so tired. Not sure if it's pregnancy, parenting , or grieving... but whatever it is it's rough. I just need sleep all the time. If I don't take a nap when the exhaustion hits I get nauseous. If I nap then I'm fine. It's rough. I also have some cramping at the moment, no blood so I'm not worried.
Oh my gosh y'all!!!! I got Phenegren and holy moly mother of sweet baby Jesus himself the nausea is almost gone while the medicine is in me!!! Most of you know since halfway through week 6, now at week 8, I've been crazy sick. The medicine makes me sleep so much but if I have to pick between sleeping and puking I'm happily sleeping! Since I'm self employed I'm taking a hiatus from work for now. We don't rely on my income at all and I have enough saved to get my expenses covered for a few months. For now, I'm giving in to pregnancy being hard and letting myself take medicine that helps even though it knocks me out. My OB did not recommend zofran for me because of another med I'm on and I trust her so we're just so excited I actually ate two meals and kept both down easily today.
The fatigue is really hitting me hard this week. It's been warming up outside and it gets SO hot in the kitchen at work. I just want to curl up on a sack of flour and nap in dry storage! I haven't had trouble drinking water because I just feel thirsty all the time, but I feel like I develop a new food aversion every day. I work in a fine dining restauraunt and can cook myself pretty much whatever I want whenever I want, but all this baby wants to let me eat is ham italians and cereal!
For everyone having issues drinking water - I personally found a mixture of a little pure cranberry juice (not cranberry juice cocktail) mixed with water to be really helpful. The tartness helps with the nausea and just gives the water some flavor. The other trick I've used is to eat a hard sour candy for nausea and then drink water while I have the candy in my mouth...sounds kind of weird but works for me. Maybe it'll work for one of you too!
@DuchessOfCambridge thanks for the tip. It has been a struggle for me as well to drink water. Good to know that I'm not the only one having that problem. I've been so worried because I'm not drinking near enough.
@MississippiCatfish yes i had physio and aqua physio also. It helped a bit. The massages and realigning helped the most....but things just never stay put!
DH has a bit of experience in massage and lastnight he was able to undo some of the tension....it was amazing.
I also found some light pilates classes after birth helped quite alot.
I got Charlie horses in my hamstring and toe with no warning at two different times yesterday even though I was well hydrated! I was also refluxing before bed and had to take my night guard out before I gagged. Luckily I got it out in time and didn't get sick. I also have eczema on my hamstrings with itchy shins. Fun times!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
I think I can check every box on that chart! The nausea is only in the morning and I haven't throw up in weeks (but when I did, it was literally all day. Not morning. LIES.). Although, I had a close call yesterday when I was walking upstairs. Other than that, sore boobs, headaches (AND NONE OF MY MEDICINE ON HAND IS SAFE)(and I'm too lazy to buy something that is), aversion to all foods that aren't beige or pickles (so basic), getting real light headed and random lower back pain. Oddly enough, I feel pretty calm and happy 95% of the time, except when I'm tired and I become completely apathetic. Bonus points if I'm at a meeting at work. Just. Can't. Care. Trying to grow a human here.
I'm struggling with feeling sick. All day everyday. It's gotten pretty bad since Saturday, and it's stayed that way. Im past 9 weeks now, so am hoping this is the peak. Does it get better or worse?:(
im so torn between feeling like I'm a pussy, and it actually being tough ahaha. I'm struggling with work and wondering how the hell women cope with work demands. How many times can I tell my boss 'I don't feel well?' Sigh.
The plus side is that the growing sickness makes me feel comforted that baby should be healthy and growing inside me. I'm also hoping I'm one of the wonder women who loses all symptoms at 10 weeks ahahaha I'm probably dreaming.
Re: the water discussion - I've been drinking tons of ginger tea (boiling water poured over minced fresh ginger), and in the evenings I have fizzy water with a splash of pure cranberry juice (like @DuchessOfCambridge said) or tart cherry juice. Since it's been cold and I've been having a hard time staying warm I've also been drinking a lot of hot tap water because it helps me feel warm, but I don't have to wait for it to cool enough to drink like tea. I've been finding that ice water makes me feel sooooo cold.

@ss145 I don't think if you cant cope with work and sickness you are being a sissy. You are growing a human- don't feel bad about feeling sick girl. I am totally staying home today because I was miserable yesterday at work and needed to lay down for a little bit in order to function. I realize some of us don't have the luxury of staying home from work so I totally get its not as simple always.
On second serious thought- I think I am more sick when I am working. Anyone else feel that way? When I am home I am usually ok but that's cause I am constantly munching something when I am home but of course not at work. so maybe that's was causes it. So strange.
I'm having trouble with my back, I think I pulled something out of whack in my lumbar spine so now it's sore and burns at the spot. I know the extra hormones make it easier to get injured, its so annoying. And the constant boob pain, I wake up all night when I turn or DH grabs a hold of me.
@maximumeffort I had no clue the extra hormones made it easier to get injured. I did a 5K on Saturday and I'm still extremely sore. It's not normal for me to be this sore after a run. Not even stretching is helping.
@mariposa_767s your body releases Relaxin, it causes the ligaments to stretch more which is helpful for having a baby, not so much for our poor joints. I also forgot all the progesterone that is softening the ligaments and discs in the back. My muscles tend to be more sore after a hard shift, more so than before.
I have a herniated disc with SI joint dysfunction and the Relaxin actually helps me because everything is usually so tight. We will see when I put more weight on. I've only had issues with sciatica one day so far in this pregnancy.

Re: Back Pain... I have definitely been feeling back pain from doing things that I normally do all the time with no problems (standing to do the dishes, sitting up straight to work at a table, making candles which requires lots of repetitive lifting). It usually goes away when I stop what I'm doing, but it's very annoying.

Hey all! So far morning sickness continues till about 2-3pm. Feeling hot and cold. I laugh real loud and crazy at random things and I think that freaks my fiance' out road rage and I cry lil bit at little silly things on TV and movies. Bloated and hard time digesting. Oh and the worst is itchy skin, rashes and acne on my chest and back sooo bad
My anxiety/depression loop is getting worse. I may have go to my doctor which I really didn't want to have to do. These hormones are causing all kinds of crazy.
@DuchessOfCambridge is it due to bad constipation or something?usually the doctor can recommend something safe to help with that. Meanwhile take in lots of fluids and fiber in diet to not worsen it. Sitting on the toilett or just regular chairs for a long time can worsen it too. Take lots of breaks and walking to get the bowel moving. I've struggled with it since I was young on and off so I understand the pain
The laziness is real today! I came home from work this morning, got DD on the bus then came in the house and passed out, we had a busy night and didn't get to bed until 1am then back up at 530 for shift change. I set my alarm for 930 for a quick nap and that turned into 11, I finally got up showered and fixed some lunch. I planned on going to the grocery store, laundry, cleaning house, and going to the dump...
UGH. Freaking out a little guys. I've had some intense cramping since my appt yesterday, well started late last night. I thought maybe her poking around in there maybe just bothered me so I didn't think too much of it. I woke up with cramps in the middle of the night but they went away after a couple hours. I was feeling better when I woke up (just my typical pregnancy symptoms) so I came to work. It's pretty much been off and on all day now so I called my OB. Waiting on a call back now. Everything was fine yesterday and no bleeding whatsoever, so I know that's a good sign. I'm still scared sh*tless though. I hope they don't just say this is normal and that's that. I KNOW it's normal, but I need reassurance!!!
@JDW0325 Last Tuesday and Wednesday I was having really terrible cramps (no bleeding), bad enough to leave work they were so intolerable. I called my OB sobbing because I was so worried and the nurse told me it was normal but Dr. Google said to be seen if the pain is severe. The OB called me in Friday and showed me everything was fine with baby on the ultrasound and we chatted about how my uterus is stretching a lot and it sucks that it's painful but it is normal and ok especially if there is no bleeding. Pain is gone now though I get milder cramps here and there.
I hope that's reassuring! I cried a lot last week out of fear, I understand how you're feeling. Based on my experience I do think it's normal but glad you called your OB anyway just to make sure!
@JDW0325 fx all is ok. If it helps I still get cramps. In fact today I've had cramps all day and my stomach feels like I've been doing crunches. I try to assume it's our uterus stretching, but it is nerve wracking. Keep us posted!
@ShePersisted I feel much worse at work than I do at home too!! It has gotten a little better since I've been snacking more at work, but I think it has something to do with my posture in front of the computer as well. I'm going to try and get up/ change positions more.
Guys I'm like seriously showing. I know this is not a symptom or hdbd yet but I cannot pretend the bump or blump whatever it is is not there. I have no clue how to bring down the bloat if that's what's causing it and everything is tight. I'm seriously worried about putting on too much weight now. With my first I did not show till like 22 weeks and I'm only 10 weeks now. What's going on?Am I crazy I think im showing? My H definitely thinks I am. I know some of you ladies also feel like they are already showing. Is it a second time mom thing?
@ShePersisted I'm 11 weeks (FTM) and I have some poochiness that won't go away. I'm trying to find work clothes that hide it so I feel your pain! I don't think it means you need to worry about overall pregnancy weight gain though. It seems that STMs+ show earlier and that's totally normal.
@ShePersisted I definitely have some serious pant tightness. I haven't gained any weight but there is definitly something going on! I swear in the dress I wore today ppl would be able to tell. FTM here so not sure what to think.
@ShePersisted Have you actually checked your weight? I've lost 5lbs but I still have a bump at 11 weeks as a FTM so it's not necessarily a worry of gaining too much weight too soon. I know it's not all uterus but it doesn't change like my belly did the first few weeks from bloating. It's just constantly there. I have at least 4 pairs of pants that don't fit at all. Not even the hair band trick will work.
@slaven you are absolutely right. I should just get on a freaking scale. I don't have one at home but I'm sure I'll find one somewhere. It feels so strange to show much this early.
The positve- nausea has gotten better. The negative- Kidney Stones still!!!! It's so painful and I'm not taking any prescription pain meds for them. The scariest part is that they cause cramping and lower back pain which is super scary being pgal. I'm just trying to push through the pain and remind myself I won't be in this kind of pain forever.
@JDW0325 I feel you on your stomach cramping! So scary! But like others said hoepfully it's just normal stretching. I've had cramping pretty much the whole pregnancy and everything is fine with the baby (have had several ultrasounds bc of the pain).
Also @ShePersisted I'm already showing as well (STM too). I think our bodies are all so differnet and some of us just show sooner.
