My Facebook feed showed me the most vile Easter treat ever this morning. I seriously about barfed when it popped up. Apparently there is an Easter egg that has a shell of white cheddar and a pickle relish filling. So nasty...
My sister is pregnant! She's been trying for baby #2 for 1.5yrs, she did her first IUI earlier this month, and now she's 4 weeks pregnant! Super early and I really hope all goes well! But if it does my LO will have a cousin his/her age. I'm so excited for her and my family! yay happy days!
I got to see my little girl today she is so perfect! And DS is napping. I think I might join him. Btw I missed y'all! I had the bussiest week/ weekend of my life.
Does anyone have experience taking someone other than their significant other to prenatal appointments? I finally (!!!!!!!) have my first ever appointment this Friday and DH won't be able to go. SIL volunteered to go w me and is super excited as am I. I was just wondering if the Dr. is going to care? Idk. I'm unreasonably anxious about some weird stink being made for nothing.
I've not gotten this "2nd trimester libido boost" I keep hearing about. Is this OK? Anyone else not really interested? Poor DH. I can count on one hand how many times we've done it in the last 4 months.
A guy asked me today if I was "expecting a baby or something" I said yep! And he said when. I said September. His response was "this September?" lord people are dumb .

Nope, September 2019... I selected the slow cook option.
@jessieR358 You should have said, "No next September. The average gestation period for a human is 20 months." Let the next person deal with his stupidity.
@JNR6510 The idea of pickled relish with chocolate will haunt me forever. That's nasty.
@LosAngelesMama Congratulations to your sister!! My nephew was just born last week, and I too am excited to have cousins so close in age.
@mrsmarygs Mmmmm...now I want second breakfast, but nothing will be as tasty as a beignet.
@Cats*in*space I have the libido boost, but not the energy boost. Also, DH is still getting used to sex with a belly in the way, so sadly my libido is not being put to as good of use as I had hoped.
Since I didn't get to post a photo to make everyone jealous yesterday (stupid mobile), here's one today.
Coffee and beignets at Cafe du Monde. Take me back to New Orleans!
This is just not right. ::drool:: glad your trip seemed to be a success. DH refuses to go to NO even though I always bring it up. Maybe one day I can convince him.
@JNR6510 that's so nasty.. I almost gagged when I read it. I've had several days where I'm so sick, I couldn't open facebook. And I never actually realized how many food pages I subscribe to until nausea kicked in! Even now, I have to just quickly scroll past most food posts. So much looks nasty, but I think yours wins!
@Cats*in*space I have not experienced either the libido or the energy boost. If DH and I are both home at the times we might usually want sex, I choose nap almost every time.
@beccam1230 I didn't realize how many food pages I was following previously either. My first thought after seeing the pickle relish candy abomination was trust Easter candy from no one! It looked just like a Cadbury egg. How traumatized would a child be if you gave that to them? It is pure evil.
@LosAngelesMama Yay! Congrats for your sister. FX she has a very uneventful 9 months.
@cats*in*space I got the libido boost, but DH has now decided he no longer wants sex until post partum. After he felt baby kick one night while we were cuddled up on the couch, he was just to weirded out by the concept.
@Cats*in*space I'm definitely experiencing it, and DH is thrilled, lol. That being said, he couldn't get near me from weeks 6-17, so there's that as well. I never had the boost while pregnant with DS, though, so I doubt it's unusual at all.
@JNR6510 That's an awful long time. Maybe compromise with some adult toys, etc? There's more than one way to get the job done, so to speak.
@Cats*in*space My libido pretty much disappeared and pre-pregnancy I was constantly in the mood so this is definitely different for me. My drive is generally higher than DH's, though, so it might be a welcome change for him

DH and I are going away in 3 weeks from Wednesday and I realized we didn't have a hotel booked for 2 nights on the 'road trip through Oregon' portion so that's what I just spent my entire day doing. I had to figure out how much driving we're going to do each day and and then find a decent town nearby with a decent hotel in it and omg my eyes are crossing again just talking about it. Long story short: my whole trip is officially booked and I would like to just go away now, thanks.

@Cats*in*space no libido boost (or energy boost for that matter), but we are on pelvic rest for the foreseeable future (low lying placenta-> spotting), so maybe that's for the best?
Took today off, and went to the Outlets with H and the bestie. Spent all the monies, which was hard, but H and I reminded each other that we only buy clothes like once every year or two. I went to Destination Maternity and got jeans, leggings, a dress (bonus: nursing dress), a maxi skirt, and a pair of black work pants. H got shoes, shirts, and boxers.
Had a couple interesting conversations over Easter dinner. MIL is totally on board with cloth diapering, SILs think it's gross. And one SIL is a nurse, so I was asking about health care workers being properly trained to clean uncircumcised men. She said they ARE trained as CNAs, but if the don't see it often, it can get forgotten. She did say that when our nephew was circumcised they had to pay for it out of pocket, that many insurance companies are calling it elective surgery and not covering it.
I still want to talk to our doctor, and H and I need to have a long talk about it. But we have time.
@Cats*in*space I had the libido boost. For about two days. Then my migraines and stomach aches from migraine meds set in. So sex is so far off my radar now.
@jena333-2 we had to pay for DS's circumcision OOP since our insurance didn't cover it since it's "not medically necessary", in their words. It was almost $600
DH is working until 7. He just text and asked "what's for dinner?". The text message woke me up from a nap... I have no f'ing clue what's for dinner, lol
Edit: apparently he meant to ask what I want him to pick up for dinner, but was in a hurry. That's better.
I cried yesterday when the grocery store was closed after church. The crying hormones have come on full force lately. Lol.

@jena333-2 ours wasn't covered under insurance either since it's considered elective. It was around $150-200. You are taught as a nurse about uncircumcised males (at least at my undergrad program). An uncircumcised penis looks way different than a circumsised one so I don't buy the "you forget" when bathing and providing catheter care. We were told "put it back how you found it" as in you must pull the skin back down over the head of the penis because you don't want to cause a tourniquet I live in the south and the pediatrician told us it's still 90% circumsiced here.
