Sorry for being late with this week's GTKY. I've always loved pasta. Add some cheese & marinara, and I'm in heaven. I've had serious carb cravings this pregnancy, which is a good thing since they normally stay down (still dealing with m/s). I've craved jalapeño poppers from Arby's this pregnancy, with the bronco berry sauce of course!
@pinkprincesspiper I live on carbs! With you there. The running joke between me and DH is to quote Mean Girls, inflection and all, "Is xxx a carb....?" "Yes."
My death row last meal would be proper Yorkshire pudding with roast beef, mashed potatoes, and maybe some roast vegetables. I could skip the veggies but they're part of the traditional meal.
Aside from that, DH and I both believe you can never have too much cheese. When we planned our wedding menu the caterer pleasantly cautioned us that maybe there were too many elements with cheese and we gave her a blank stare and joked that we're like 60 miles from Wisconsin, there's never too much cheese!
My all time favorite food is spaghetti. The sauce must be my dads and/or DH's 3 day spaghetti sauce. My dad taught DH how to make it when we got married, so I could have it when I wanted! Its a sauce my dad has been trying to replicate for almost 30 years. His uncle made it, but passed away when my dad was young, and so he has been trying to make it ever sense. We have it every year for our christmas dinner, and its amazing!
I havent really had any crazy cravings since getting pregnant. I have wanted sweets even more than usual, so I have been eating a lot more fruit to combat that craving (instead of just eating a ton of crap).

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
White chicken cheese lasagna. Soooooooo gooey and good! But basically cheese, all the cheese and anything with sauce - ranch, gravy, red sauce, green sauce, I don't care, give it to me. Pregnant craving has been Mexican food - most specifically, pollo fundido from our favorite Mexican restaurant. But also tacos. And refried beans. And salsa.
@DeansGirl14 DH and I had a cheese buffet after dinner at our wedding...so I'm 100% with you that you can NEVER have enough cheese. And bread. And wine.
My favorite food is macaroni and cheese. Every year for our birthday, my mom would let us pick what we'd eat for dinner. I always chose homemade mac n' cheese with a side of pickles! So gooey and delicious.
So far this pregnancy, I haven't had too many intense cravings. I'm also loving mexican food and anything citrus.
Ice Cream/Gelato has been my pregnancy craving - I've given in a few times (I had cut out dairy as part of my endo/fertility diet) and it's been soo good but I pay for it after. The cheesecake gelato I had last night...oh man I could eat that every night.
Me: 37 DH: 37 - Married 10.2015 ❤️ Canadian DX: Endometriosis - Stage 4, DOR, RPL
My dad's homemade lasagna is my all-time favorite food. He's Italian and loves to tell the same stories of his grandmother and aunt making lasagna every single time.
This pregnancy, my cravings have been relatively healthy: avocados and light tuna. Every time I eat something green or some fish, it's so so satisfying. Even though I get some pretty strong pangs for fried food and all the sugar I can fit in my face, it doesn't hit the spot the way a fillet of salmon and asparagus does.
@DeansGirl14@secicc12 all the cheese! We had stations at our wedding and each one had something cheesy on it! Mini grilled cheese was 100% an appetizer. Fondue is up there-just a bowl of hot cheesy goodness. There is a place near us that does it pretty well, though Melting Pot is amazing and not close! The other would be a mushroom cheddar baked potato from a diner in the town I grew up in. Loaded with cheese and sooo fluffy. Seriously, cheese makes me happy.
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
I'm just not a huge cheese fan (typing that makes me think it needs to go in FFFC)
All time fave is either really good pizza (thin crust Neopolitan like from Italy--agh!) or sushi. Sushi is one of the few "banned" foods that I haven't given in on (yet).
During pregnancy my craving for sure sure has been carbs and cereal. I mean I normally love carbs but man some buttery French bread would be so satisfying right now.
I don't have a favorite food, there is so much I love. Going out to dinner at a nice restaurant is would be high on my list, whatever they serve will be good and I don't have to cook or clean up.
This pregnancy I have been all about red meat and fresh produce.
@SouthernMama15 crab legs were the one craving so far that I thought I'd lose my mind if I didn't get. Put away 3lb of those and could've crushed more.
Too everyone who loves crab... "What's that part of the crab you're not supposed to eat, you mean ALL OF IT!?!?!?" - Jim Gaffigan.
Do you know his seafood bit? It's a riot. Easy to find on YouTube. "I found a rock with some snot in it." "Lobster tail? Mmmm bug butt!" "People say ' I looooove lobstah...' Yeah I like butter too."
I do like seafood but only if it doesn't look like it did when it was alive. But Gaffigan's several-minute long rant against seafood always has me in stitches.
My family gets embarrassed when I eat crab legs. It flies everywhere. My BIL and I like to see who can get the best prices out of the leg. Dang, now I want some.
I've eaten way more pizza this pregnancy than one should eat...heartburn n all! I loveeee cheese, in my head I'm part Italian so sausages with peppers, pasta, sauce, all of that excites me. Loveee garlic bread! Also love southern comfort food. I make a mean baked macaroni and cheese, candied yams, collard greens and slow cooked BBQ chicken. Omg this thread while I eat this wack fish sandwich on my lunch break is making me feel a way.
Wow. This is going to take some serious podering over yonder.
My favorite food of all time has to be pretty much anything my grandmother makes. She used to have her own Tex-Mex restaurant in Kingsville, Texas called La Siesta. Her soup, picadillo, carne guisada, mexican rice, and calabaza con pollo are the best foods I've ever eaten. Her brownie cakes are to DIE for. I wish I could cook half as well as she can!
My all time favorite food is homemade mac and cheese. A bowl of mac and cheese is like a comforting hug for me.
This pregnancy has been all about beef, dairy, and salt.
Crabs are the best! My husband and I have an amazing local seafood shack that always has the best blue crabs. On nice summer nights, we pick up a few dozen and spend hours out on our back deck eating crabs and drinking beer. It's like a crab massacre out there when we're done.
Together: January 2002 Married: May 2008 Baby: August 2017
Clearly we like to rush along at lightning speed...
My all time favorite food is hands down my dad's round steak with lima beans, gravy, and rice. It sounds so weird but OMG, heavenly. Now I want some! I 100% agree on all the cheese lovers. I am obsessed with anything cheese. Block sharp cheese sliced and mozz sticks have always been my drunk food craving lol. As far as pregnancy cravings, I'd have to say that lately I've been wanting fresh asparagus drizzled with olive oil and salt and put directly on the grill. Hubs hates asparagus and I'm pretty sure he's sick of me making him grill this almost every night!
My favorite food is beef carpaccio. I know, I'm weird. Pizza and milkshake have been my go-to this pregnancy. I was really hoping to crave grilled chicken and vegetables instead.
Favorite food of all time is definitely pasta.... DH is the worst Italian though and doesn't like pasta, so I rarely make it for us. He travels maybe 3 or 4 times a year for work, so I binge during those times haha.
Also... any dessert with chocolate or peanut butter. Even better when it has both. Yummmm.
Omg, all the cheese for me too! Cream cheese is one of my favorite foods and I've been finding excuses to make cream cheese dips lately. I also want Chinese food at least once a week. Mostly for the crab rangoons. Which also have cream cheese
FF of all time? So hard. I would probably say shrimp or seafood in general. I am dying to take a trip somewhere for fresh seafood that's better and cheaper. I've lived in MN for most my life so we get second rate seafood here. But I grew up on a beef farm and I love a good steak too.
This pregnancy my go to foods have been lighter foods like seafood and salads. But I also crave milk and could probably down a half gallon a day (But I don't. I usually have a nice big glass though!)
I feel boring saying this but all time favorite food is bread, like rustic or sour dough...something with a really good crust. Doesn't matter how full I am, if someone comes home with a fresh warm loaf of bread there is always room for a slice smeared with real butter!
This pregnancy I've been all about the Mexican food. It always sounds good!
I also feel like this is a FFFC, but I hate cheese and I don't like pasta. DH's parents are from Italy and the whole family is amazing cooks and DH himself lives on cheese and pasta. I usually have to make myself some boring picky eater food when we are with them. I live off of peanut butter, so I guess that is my favorite food. I also love omelettes, salads and smoothies. My biggest food weakness is baked goods, particularly anything baked with chocolate chips. This pregnancy I had my first hamburger in like a decade and I dream of having one every day now!
Honey Brick Toast! Add in fixings of mascapone cheese, condense milk, strawberry ice cream, whip cream...bam! I always go to my fav place in San Diego for my craving - Up2YouCafe. I can devour that like nothing!
My favorite food is sushi. I miss it. I had cooked rolls really early on, but it's not the same. I also have a big sweet tooth and love any chocolate peanut butter dessert.
For the past month or so, I've been really into cantaloupe, pineapples and mangoes. I also want chocolate pretty often especially at night. During the first trimester, I ate a lot of cheese and crackers, but that craving has subsided since then.
