Since this will probably be the only time today to do this, I'll do it now.
How far along are you? 18w5d
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? started feeling baby move this week! Not much but just here and there. I love it. What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? I'm a fourth grade school teacher and we have 28 days left till summer vacation. I love summer break almost as much as the kids although it's somewhat sad because I won't be returning next year. Any Questions? is the only really to do the anatomy Svan around 20 weeks to find out the gender? Or are there other reasons for it? Also I've been doing alot of research about the vitamin k shot and I'm worried about all the extra preservatives. Did anyone else wonder the same thing? GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? We celebrate Jesus rising from the dead. We have a sunrise service on Sunday at our local lake. So beautiful watching the sunrise over the lake. And it's another excuse to hang out with family. But other than that....nothing big.
@septpromise The anatomy scan is primarily to check measurements of certain things, and to look at the heart, kidneys, etc. Gender, if you don't already know it, is just an added bonus.
Just growing. Feeling every growing pain, RLP, and pressure. OB suggested I get a belly band to help support my belly, so maybe I'll be shopping for one this week. Lots of gas, which everyone can agree is pretty uncomfortable. That's about it for now. Finally starting to join the land of the living again.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life?
Family vacation starts in about 3 hours and I can't wait to have a few day with family and friends. And to finally tell the rest of our family that we're pregnant.
Any Questions?
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend?
Yes! We are heading to Virginia to see our families. Will go to church on Sunday and then my MIL has an annual Easter picnic that we will go to after church.
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? Really starting to get a belly now! There's no hiding it anymore. But I'm excited -- the weather is finally warmer, so I'm ready to wear maternity dresses.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? This is one of the busiest months of the year for me at work. We have our biggest fundraiser of the year at the end of the month, and I'll probably have in around 60 or so hours by the end of that week. At least I'll have an excuse to take breaks and sit down since I'll be 21 weeks pregnant!
Any Questions?
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? We do! My daughter attends a Christian daycare/preschool, so she's actually off for Good Friday. My husband works for the state, and they get off, too. So I think I'm going to take off work and we're going to take a trip to the zoo. Saturday we have my husband's family Easter dinner and egg hunt, then we're having my family over to our house on Sunday after church. I love it when Easter falls later in the spring and it's actually warm and sunny for all the pretty Easter dresses!
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? Not too many symptoms to speak of, at least compared to the first tri! ;-0 These days I definitely feel increased thirst (I've never drunk this much water in my life -- I would be super surprised if it had to do with gestational diabetes, but we'll see), urinary frequency (duh), and some occasional backaches and headaches. Have felt vague flutters but I'm not going to say that it was definitively the baby because it really could be gas or something else going on! Anatomy scan is Monday so that will be a really important experience for my husband and me, especially since we haven't seen the baby since the Nuchal. We're not finding out the sex, though!
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? Nothing too exciting...
Any Questions? Wondering if/when you all were going to have a shower? So far mine is "slated" for June 10th, hosted by my mom and good friend, but I'm sure I'll have a lot of input because I tend to like some control re social events. I definitely want mimosas, for instance, because if I were going to a shower I would appreciate that. I'll be about 28 weeks I think.
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend?
Parents are joining us at our church and then we'll have lunch at our apartment. We share a bunny rabbit with my parents (currently at our apt) so we have to make sure he feels very special! ;-)
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? Not too much! Stumbled across an article about second trimester losses last night and got really wound up. I need to step away from the internet scaries. Still waiting to feel some movement and would be more worried except for breaking out the doppler every week or so.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? Having a nice quiet week at work due to the multiple holidays coinciding (easter, passover). Realizing we are leaving for a weeklong trip to Portugal in a little over two weeks and maybe I should do a tiny bit of planning. Also a rave: I broke down and bought my first dunkin donuts iced coffee of the season (as I seem to recall, DD coffee is controversial on this board, but I think with milk and sugar it tastes like pure happiness). Got a small instead of a medium for caffeine limiting purposes, and am trying to ration it out to make it last longer... mmmm...
Any Questions?
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? I actually have a big easter this year; I'm converting to catholicism (DH's religion), and my baptism/first communion/confirmation happen on at the Easter vigil on Saturday. Also going to the services on Thursday and Friday, and taking Friday off work. Then a more secular Easter like what I grew up with-- egg hunt etc-- with DH's family on Sunday!
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? I've started really feeling her move around the past couple of days, which has just been so much fun! Definitely feeling better than I was, but I SO wish the nausea would 100% go away. Still having lots of crampiness, which is both painful and stressful. My mom keeps telling me "there's just a lot going on in there!" so really hoping she is right.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? We've almost got our back yard completely fenced in to put the 6 month old husky outside. She is so sweet, but is a very large puppy and has been driving us crazy in the house. There is almost no surface in the house she can't reach at this point and she wants to chew everything, so we come in to a mess most days. Our backyard was fenced, but not very well and I didn't feel it was very secure. So, DH and my dad have been slowly working on it after work. We just have to replace the gate and we'll be done! I'm also hoping to transition one of the cats outside now that the weather is nice. I feel terrible about it, because she is tiny and precious, but she has Manx syndrome (basically, she has absolutely no tail and is also missing her last vertebrae) which causes a lot of using the bathroom issues. Luckily, her's isn't bad enough to cause urinary incontinence or mobility problems, but she does have a hard time pooping, and we have to confine her to the bathroom a lot to prevent a huge mess.
Any Questions? I did have one, but now I've forgotten... ugh! I guess I can ask if anyone else is cramping? My Dr. said she felt like it was round ligament pain a month ago when it first started, but what makes me question that is that it doesn't happen when I'm moving around... its almost solely at night.
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? I love all things Easter! This year, it also happens to be my birthday, so we have a lot going on. Easter specifically, though, we'll dye eggs with my nephew on Saturday and go to my Granny's for a big family lunch and egg hunt on Sunday.
cmar1006 - I'm wearing this one right now. It's $28, and feels really well made. Right now I'm wearing it folded in half (to cover/hold up my unbuttoned pants), and later I can wear it full and feel really supported.
margareth - I think our shower is going to be late July/early August. I'll be pretty far along by then, but we have a memorial service July 8th, and I don't want people (including me/DH) to have to travel back to back weekends. I have requested more of a Baby-Q than a traditional shower. A lot of the people in our lives are men (eg my step dad and brother, since my mom passed a few years ago) and would like to comfortably include everyone.
How far along are you?

What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise?
A/S is Friday at 8am! I am excited and of course a little nervous. I watched a few 18 week scans on YouTube yesterday, and teared up. I can't wait to see his little fingers and toes.
Had a regular visit this morning, and NP says the pain to the left of my spine & the electricity in my hip are likely baby pressing against my sciatic. So I will be researching today to see if there's anything I can do about it (other than the moist heat she recommended). She also said if Excedrin Tension doesn't work, she can prescribe me something for my ongoing headaches.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life?
Mostly just working. Reeeeeeeally need to get my act together and get preapproved for a mortgage so we can find a house before the baby comes.
Any Questions?
Anyone have experience with sciatic pain? Or prescription headache meds while pregnant?
And do you have a favorite lotion/voodoo medicine to prevent stretch marks?
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend?
FIL is a minister, but none of the kids are really active church goers. We are driving up to southern Maine for Easter dinner. It will be the first time we've seen the family (other than a quick dinner with his parents) since we knew we were pregnant, so this could be kind of fun. I took Monday off from work because I know I'm going to be exhausted and need to get extra sleep. And my best friend and I are going to go to the Outlets locally in the afternoon, there's a maternity store I want to check out. The belly band works, but it's not ideal.
So the promised story!
I can't remember if I was already posting in the group or not... but in late Jan/early Feb we had dinner with H's cousin and her husband (K&J). I was deep in the first trimester strong smell aversion. A waitress walked by with some cooked broccoli. GAG. K&J were like.. uhh, you ok?
I said well we're not going public with it yet, but there's a Baby B on the way.
And then I saw it. The smallest flicker across her face. So I went on to say we had had a loss the week before we lost Nana.
**TW** She confessed they had had a loss as well, fairly recently. A MMC discovered at their 10 week US. **End TW**
So DH and I have been trying to keep things on Facebook pretty quiet, I just didn't want to make her feel upset. We've been meaning to make it to CT to have dinner with the cousins/aunt, but didn't want to "flaunt" my growing belly.
K&J called last night. They're 10 weeks along!! Just had a great US where baby is measuring right on track with a perfect heartbeat.
We are just so over the moon for them, and we all know just how she's feeling. And our little Zebzeb is going to have a cousin just two months younger than he is
How far along are you? 16+4 (I think I posted 16+3 on the HDBD thread. Oops. I don't know why I keep getting this wrong!)
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? I am getting bigger by the day! It's actually exciting. I always worried I would hate how I looked but I feel really proud of my bump.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? We are ONE school day away from our vacation (in Massachusetts, schools have a spring vacation in April; the 3rd Monday is a holiday called Patriot's Day and is also the running of the Boston Marathon). My mom is coming for a two-day visit while our school vacations overlap. And we are a few days away from heading to London for our babymoon!
Any Questions? Just a rhetorical one. When am I going to start feeling this baby move?! I think I felt something last week but it was brief and just once.
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? Nope - we are Jewish! We had a lovely seder to mark the start of Passover on Monday night. I am still tired two days later from eating such a late meal and getting so little sleep, but it was worth it to get to spend some time with family.

@jena333-2 I have had sciatic issues before pregnancy, and what always helped was lying in the floor on my back, and pulling my knees up one at a time.... definitely more difficult when pregnant, but maybe worth a try? Heat does always help mine, too. And yay for your cousins!! That's so great!
@divinemsm620 I will be 19 weeks tomorrow, and just really started feeling her the past few days. So hopefully you'll feel the little nugget soon!
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? not many symptoms...I can tell my belly is growing and I feel bigger, but it's not always obvious....
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? on a week off this week. Yay!
Any Questions?
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? we are having dinner with an older couple from church on saturday. Normally we'd do family stuff for Easter but we are overseas so no family!

@jena333-2 weeerrrrk! Hah I love it. I actually have one of those but have used it more to hold up pre-pregnancy jeans. I think my doc was talking about something more supportive to specifically lift up the belly/support the back. I tried on a couple in A Pea in the Pod, but no way I want to pay $70 for that ish. Especially because I have no clue how big I'm going to get and I want something that will last the whole pregnancy. Dilemma.
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? starting to feel some movements here and there but really want them to be regular. I can't wait until DH and DS can feel them! I need to schedule the anatomy scan too. We are team green but I'm excited to see how far baby has come! I've gotten a few pangs of worry this week for no real reason so I think that will put my mind at ease.
Sciatic pain has popped up a few times but hasn't been too bad. I just sit in bed and use the heating pad for a few minutes. Always goes away by morning
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? nothing too much. Looking forward to a long weekend at home!
Any Questions? not really.
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? we have a non-religious Easter. We'll do an egg hunt for DS on Friday since that's the only day DH is off and hopefully spend the day outside. Then family dinner on Sunday with my extended family. We haven't seen any of them since we announced so I'm looking forward to it. OOT friends tend to come back for family stuff so we'll probably get together for lunch or something on Saturday.
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? no movement still i'm plus size so i know that can make me feel things later but i want to feel him move already!! haha also I have my anatomy scan tomorrow which I have tons of anxiety about but i'm also super excited... I haven't seen him since the NT scan at 12 weeks which i know is normal but i had ultrasounds at 6 weeks, 7 weeks, 9 weeks, 11 weeks and then 12 weeks so I got spoiled with seeing him so often and going 7 weeks without has felt like a loooong time What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? not a lot... today is DH's birthday... he doesn't want to do anything for it tho so i just got him a gift but not doing anything else. Any Questions? anyone else feeling a lot of pelvic pain/pressure? i know i've seen conversation around that I think in the symptom thread but it makes me wonder if i should be concerned about preterm labor or if its normal pains
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? We have a family dinner with my inlaws... they aren't religious but they do use all the holidays as a reason to get the family together which is nice

How far along are you? 18+3 What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? I had a lot of anxiety the last several days, but after a good talk with both my therapist and my OB, I'm feeling better. Otherwise I'm doing well, just hungry all the time, and still battling the heartburn and pelvic/pubic bone pain. Oh, also, I'm not feeling a ton of movement because of my anterior placenta, but Sunday night my hand wasn't resting on the left side of the belly, and underneath it I suddenly felt things shift, and my uterus underneath got hard. The left side of my uterus was really hard and full feeling, and the right side was a little squishy, he must have completely shifted. I wouldn't have felt it normally, but I'm glad I got a little confirmation that he's as squirmy in there as ever! What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? Things are good! I had a really productive talk with my editor yesterday, and DH is going to make dinner tonight. Score on both counts. Otherwise, my life is mostly about the acquisition and consuming of food right now, so I can't really complain. Any Questions? Nope.
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? We do celebrate Easter. I'm finishing up my Lenten daily readings and celebration this week, and on Easter Sunday we're going to church and then getting brunch after with some friends. If we were home with either of our families there would be a big family dinner, and a family egg hunt, but we decided to stay home and enjoy one last holiday that isn't kid-centric before this baby comes. (Also, I just had a wave of slightly sad nostalgia for all our holidays past that we're just the two of us. I'm so excited for this child, but I'm still not quite ready for everything to change, if that makes sense.)
@mrs_tacos yesssss I totally agree about the holidays thing... usually we do Christmas Eve at my in-laws but then we have Christmas with just the two of us...last Christmas I didn't know I was pregnant yet and part of me is SO excited to have our son around this Christmas but then part of me is going to miss it being just DH & I

@divinemsm620 I listen to NPR on my commute and there was a whole episode about charoset yesterday! It was so interesting! I'd love to attend a Seder some day.
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise? just plugging along. Getting bigger, which I think helps DH. He was getting nervous that things weren't progressing because my body wasn't changing much.
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life? im taking a class on top of working full time and I'm straight up over it. Less than a month left, but I checked out a long time ago.
Any Questions?
GTKY: Do you celebrate Easter? If so, what do you have planned? If not, anything going on this weekend? DH and I were both raised Catholic but neither of us practice....Or really like Catholicism all that much. I'd be interested in exploring other religions at some point, but for now, we celebrate Easter for the eggs and bunnies. On Saturday, were getting together with our parents (and Skyping with siblings) for a gender reveal. Super low key, but excited to be rid of the secret. It's killing me!
@divinemsm620 I listen to NPR on my commute and there was a whole episode about charoset yesterday! It was so interesting! I'd love to attend a Seder some day.
It's really fun, but they can certainly run long!!! We use a family Haggadah (Seder book) that has a lot of kid-friendly material that must have been very useful when my H and his sister were younger. We are not synagogue-goers, so I especially enjoy that this holiday is about celebrating at home with your family.
Charoset is delicious. My MIL makes a really good one. I helped with some of the prep and we added a little more wine to keep it fresh-tasting; it ended up being better than her usual. That was the only wine I had--no manischewitz this year!
@HollyGolightly09 I meant to mention earlier that I've been having cramping too. I'm fairly certain it's all RLP, as it tends to get worse after I do something like sneeze, and also it's exacerbated when I sit or lay with my legs in certain positions. Like, if I sit with my legs curled up for a long time I'll notice it feels like I'm cramping, but when I stretch my legs out it goes away.

That may be part of it... I tend to sleep with my legs all curled up and don't really move when I'm asleep.
Hi ladies i had the anatomy scan- baby looks good however my cervix has started to dialate ...they sent me over to labor and delivery and I'm waiting on them to do an amniocentesis to check for an infection.....if there is no infection they are going to try to place a cerclage.....here's crossing my fingers that they can keep me pregnant

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers....unfortunately the amniocentesis shows a severe infection in the amniotic fluid so they are unable to place the cerclage and I've been advised waiting much longer I would risk the Infection causing me to lose my uterus ......we've had to make the horrific decision to induce now:

19 weeks!
What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise?
no movement still
What's going on with you in other aspects of your life?
not a lot... today is DH's birthday... he doesn't want to do anything for it tho so i just got him a gift but not doing anything else.

What's going on with you baby/pregnancy wise?

Charoset is delicious. My MIL makes a really good one. I helped with some of the prep and we added a little more wine to keep it fresh-tasting; it ended up being better than her usual. That was the only wine I had--no manischewitz this year!
i had the anatomy scan- baby looks good however my cervix has started to dialate ...they sent me over to labor and delivery and I'm waiting on them to do an amniocentesis to check for an infection.....if there is no infection they are going to try to place a cerclage.....here's crossing my fingers that they can keep me pregnant
