2x bfest post. I am so over food aversions and nausea. I don't understand the evolutionary benefit to having a pregnant female puke out all nutrients and meat proteins. Is this natural selection? AM I WEAKENING THE SPECIES BY LIVING OFF OF SPAGHETTI AND CHEDDAR RICE CAKES?
Midwives called today to reschedule my appointment tomorrow but they wanted me to come in TODAY which was impossible. We only have 1 vehicle so we have to plan ahead for things like this. The receptionist then acted annoyed with ME because I couldn't get there and said she'd have to call back once she found out where they could squeeze me in. Ummm...SQUEEZE ME IN!! I've had this appointment scheduled for a MONTH and you're the ones rescheduling, not me.
Also there's a major construction project going on in our area and the stupid idiots keep hitting things they're not supposed to. So far today we've been without water, internet, and electric at various times and the fire dept was called out yesterday because they hit a gas line...ugh
@Boobopgirl first the united flight guy then your midwives? Not a good day for customer service. Ill take it as a sign and hold off calling my insurance until tomorrow lol.
@jessafishy and @dumbledoredies definitely research insurance...I had a lovely talk with my insurance company because I got billed for a dating ultrasound when my plan says it covers "routine prenatal care" at 100% with no deductible. Except, according to this guy, "routine prenatal care" does not include any ultrasounds and "obamacare doesn't require it to." So my monthly ultrasounds (I'm estimating, it's about that much though), will be paid out of pocket until my deductible and then 20% I'll have to pay after the deductible. That was a cost we weren't expecting. Insurance sucks.
My STD at the hospital where I work is so convoluted, I'm not even eligible because I don't work enough but when I did before I didn't even take it because I might've gotten paid 60% for like 2 days. It only covers time above and beyond all sick and PTO time (so I'd have to use all that first) and then only while "medically necessary" for you to be out of work (4-6 weeks for a vaginal delivery, 8-12 for a csection). Also, if you delivered in October (which is when I did back in 2012) you could only use what PTO you had accrued that year which most people didn't realize. Our year started over in July, so it was like 20-30 hours or so and you could roll over 40 hours from the previous year but only if you were pregnant and delivering within a month of the changeover. So basically September/october due dates got screwed. It was this huge confusing system that HR barely understood. Maternity leave in this country sucks ass..
Bfest 2: Cleaning supply fumes have overtaken our office. I now feel like absolute crap and locked myself in an office. How inconsiderate that they can't use industrial strength cleaners at night!!!
My bfest is work. I was working my butt off all afternoon to the point of exhaustion. And my other coworkers literally sat in the office all days. It's not like I expect special treatment at work just because I'm pregnant but seriously someone could get off their freaking chair and help.
On a positive note. My husband is running to the store to get a brand of salsa I want even though we have other salsa options here at home.
My bfest is that a girl I knew back in college (we were never close, just acquaintances really) just named her baby boy the name I have picked out (she didn't know)...but we coincidently also have the same last name. Grrr...so annoying. We live in different states so I'd probably still use it bit we have lots of mutual friends so I feel like they're all going to think I copied her
@baker1jm2 oh that is so annoying!! Sounds cliche but I wouldn't worry about what they might think. I'd just focus on the name you're happy with, and enjoy announcing the name when you're ready :-)

Just to add to the pineapple/pizza debate, this happened to pop up on my newsfeed.
