Although it was a really good weekend, and the weather is finally beautiful, I'm still sick. DH and I have doctor appointments this afternoon. The worst part for me is the damn coughing. Coughing while pregnant is tricky and dangerous. I'm thinking of investing in some depends.

Comcast---our cable and internet went out yesterday when our tree took down the lines. They were supposed to be out yesterday and never showed and now they can't come until tomorrow. So annoying.

@jessieR358 ugh, I freaking hate waiting around for cable companies.

My BF is... ok, so I know it's incredibly sad to see sick babies/children and you want to help them as much as possible, but honestly, being PGAL and with a twin pregnancy that carries all of its own risks, I really am getting so sick and tired of seeing people sharing posts of preemie babies in incubators with tubes surrounding them, or children with cancer. Honestly I understand it's their prerogative to do this, but I really think there should be a trigger warning or spoiler on Facebook for people that are really affected by seeing these things.

I really don't want to start blocking people because of these posts, but I am almost at my witts end seeing them every single day.

@cmar1006 I totally agree with you. I almost unfriended a friend not too long ago, because she was going through a phase where she re-posted all these poor kids/babies with cancer.

@Swazzle That's my biggest pet peeve. I hate the chewing sounds.

@CSL522 oh I would BF about that too. DH gets them all the time and I never get them. I got one about 5 months ago and it was quite possibly the worst pain ever. I am so sorry!!!! Have you tried canker covers? DH swears by them and I tried one when I got mine and it worked wonders!!!!!

@cmar1006 @MyNamesTaken I haven't tried either of those but I'll look into them. Thanks! I used to have an Rx cream that I used but I can't find it. I also used to take Lysine which I think helped but I try to avoid taking anything other than prenatal vits when pregnant.

My BF is at people who don't understand how not to overstay your welcome. One of DH's coworkers came over early yesterday morning to help DH with renovations. That was great! They got all the flooring installed, the kitchen table put together, and the heavy furniture moved back into the rooms. They got done around 4pm, and I made dinner for everyone.

DH had to leave at 6pm because of another appointment he had that evening, but his friend still stayed at our house and just played Xbox. Then he invited his SO to come over. DH didn't get back until 9pm and his friend and the SO were still at our house. The SO was complaining about having not eaten and being hungry, so I ended up cooking a second dinner again. Ultimately the friend and his SO didn't leave out house until nearly midnight, and I had to be at work at 5am this morning.

The friend and his SO and really nice people, and I enjoy hanging out with them. I just wish they understood how not to overstay one's welcome.

Needless to say I am sleep deprived, nauseous, and bitchy today.

@JNR6510 Whoa! You really are a saint. I can't believe he didn't leave when your DH left. I think I would have strongly hinted at being exhausted and needing to go to bed but something tells me this guy would have just told you good night and continued playing Xbox.

The front storm door of our house rental was broken last month during a bad storm. It flew open, and hit the railing. The glass shattered, the frame bent, and the railing is broken as well. I really want our property manager to get on having it fixed. Not only so I can have a nice breeze and sun in the afternoon, but the railing is a safety hazard.

I have another: It's going to be absolutely gorgeous here today/this week. I usually work 6:45am-3pm but I have to cover for a coworker this week and I'm stuck here until 5 everyday. I kind of want to cry about it.

My boss is incredibly hands off which is usually fine except he is TOO hands off and doesn't actually deal with problem employees or issues, just lets them get sorted on their own. There is a woman in my office who is just awful- I hate to throw the word bully around but she fits the description of it perfectly. He refuses to deal with her- his response to complaints is " thats just the way she is" She has been here since the dawn of time getting away with this and we're in a union so there are added layers of difficulty- recently she turned her attention to me ( I am still new to the office) She managed to pull some serious under handed mean crap and said some just awful things about me. I had the second in command call me on Friday to tell me how sorry she is about what happened and how I didnt deserve that kind of treatment and so on and so on. The call was nice but you know what would be even better? TAKING CARE OF THE DAMN PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. Doing damage control like this wouldn't be necessary at all if she was dealt with properly in the first place.

@cmar1006 I so agree with your BF. Not just because I can't handle that stuff. This girl on my timeline shared a post someone else posted. I thought about sharing the story in a spoiler box but I can't even bring myself to do that. It was horrible and I didn't want to come across that on my timeline, I wanted to cry and throw up. The photos were so disturbing. I didn't sleep that night. Edited to add that also because kids pictures get stolen and used for fake news all the time.

My BF today is just DH being an ass and arguing with me over MILK. Not even kidding. I wanted him to go get milk because he was dressed but he though I should get dressed, get the baby dressed, put the baby in his car seat, drive the baby to the store in the snow, take the baby out of the car seat into the store, get milk, put baby back into car seat, come home take baby back out of car seat... when all he had to do was slip his shoes on and go. Wtf dude.

@JNR6510 wow!! No way would I have cooked for them. I would have said, oh restaurants x,y,z are near us! I can't stand people who over stay their welcome. DH had some friends do that this summer. I was pretty ticked off by the end saying, "well...it's getting late and I have to be up early". Like get the freaking hint people.

@cmar1006 I agree with your BF, but I'd like to extend it to the neglected/abused animals. I'm so glad they finally fixed where videos don't automatically play. I have some friends who are vegan and/are animal lovers who share some pretty disturbing things to get their viewpoint across. Like I don't want to see a pile of dead dogs to prove your point that I should "adopt and not shop" or a cow being butchered to death.

@JNR6510 wow.. you're so much nicer than I am, haha! But you're right, some people suck at overstating their welcome.
DH invited a friend to stay with us for a few days when he was separating from his wife so he could find a place to live. Friend thanked him and said not to worry, it would be just a few days. Haha well.. 6 months later, we had to kick him out. He wasn't paying for anything, was eating all our food, was bringing a bunch of random women back to our house, etc.
However, that was a different situation. I still maintain that you're a much much nicer person than I am!! I definitely wouldn't have cooked for them (again) and I would have made some bitchy comments about being tired and needing to get up for work until they ended up leaving!

@cmar1006 Ugh, yes! Recently a couple who went to our college shortly after we graduated delivered a son at 24 weeks, and were posting daily updates w/pictures. It was EVERYWHERE. I could not open Facebook without seeing the same update multiple times because we know so many of the same people. It was really sad, I ended up blocking them. I understand wanting to keep people updated, but it was the last thing I and my PGAL brain needed to see on a daily basis.

Similarly, since getting pregnant I've been targeted by more and more adds and articles about pregnancy and having children. Fine, I'm cool with that. What I'm not cool with is being targeted with horror stories about pregnancy and child birth gone horribly wrong. Yes, every news source ever, I am aware that the worst case scenario exists. But no, I don't need you to tell me all about them every time I open my computer!

Also, a woman in my building keeps trying to tell me how her daughter's nipple almost fell off while breast feeding. I'm running out of ways to tell her I don't want to hear about it, and I'm not even being polite anymore!

@wyomama0427 haha milk.. really?! I hope he ended up going to get it! I've had to tell DH before the massive struggle of taking DS anywhere.. a simple errand is no longer simple! It's like they don't fully get it. I think sometimes my DH loves to bring up petty arguments lately. It's weird.

I saw on another board where they did a post called calling all lurkers and let people re intro and stuff, it was kinda cool and maybe we could do that?
Also @mrs_tacos my MIL kept telling me a similar story about her breastfeeding DH, (which is strange... I get it but I don't want to picture my lovely hubby breastfeeding haha) anywho, I have good news. I breastfed DS for almost 14 months, through many teeth and lots of biting, and my nipples are in tact! They never even got dry or cracked or anything.
@ColoradoHiker wow they still haven't fixed that yet?? I remember you posting that quite a while ago... I wonder what the hold up is! Hope they get it fixed soon!!

@mrs_tacos There was a woman who worked on my floor while I was pregnant with DS, who I literally had only ever said hi to in the hallway. At the very end of my pregnancy, she asked me if I was having a natural birth, or a C section, and then proceeded to tell me all about her horrible attempt to have a vaginal birth, that led to a C section.
Why share this story with me?? And why on earth, strange person I don't know, would you ask how I want to get my baby out? I only share DS' birth story with women who actually ask for it, and preface it with the warning that it was a bit scary. Not with complete strangers. It's like being pregnant gives people free reign to acknowledge that we had sex, got knocked up, and now need the rest of life's (usually horrific) mysteries revealed to us before we give birth.

@cmar1006 I'm going to disagree with you on your BF. I am sorry about PGAL and I don't have personal experience. I would think it's hard to have to see things that are triggering while being at higher risk. I had a preemie and had some triggering experiences with posts in the past. Knowing what it's like to have preterm labor, be high risk and have a preemie, I can say that it is often a very isolating experience and I think that it's not right to expect people to keep what they are going through to themselves. Sadly most people do keep quiet, feel alone and struggle. I personally wish more people would share. Limiting your exposure to their posts is probably the better idea in this situation.

@ColoradoHiker I don't understand what it is about pregnancy that makes people think they can say whatever they want, as if pregnant women are community property. We were at a baseball game on Friday, and three different women and and old man thought it was ok to touch my belly. Thankfully DH ran interference, because I am in no mood to be polite to people these days. But the worst are definitely the people who come at you with unsolicited stories and advice. A woman in the ball park bathroom asked me if I was planning to have a c-section, and then started telling me about hers. Um, how in any way is that an appropriate conversation to have with a stranger?! I literally just said, "Um, okay, bye now," and left the room.

@ColoradoHiker @mrs_tacos Oh people have zero filter when it comes to pregnant women. It's unbelievable. I went grocery shopping on my due date with my last pregnancy. I was pretty sure I wasn't going to go into labor that day and we needed food. So I get to the cashier and she looks at me, tells me how huge I am and asked me when I was due. When I told her my due date was actually that day, she laughed, told me I wasn't having the baby anytime soon, the baby was nowhere near my cervix (umm.. really?) And then asked me if I wanted to give birth vaginally. I'm pretty sure the way I looked at her made her regret asking, because she said nevermind and stopped talking. I went to the effing grocery store to buy food. Not to talk about my cervix and how I wanted to give birth.
I don't get it.

My BF is my mom. I went to visit her this weekend and I love my mother very much. But I was very irritated with her because of some inappropriate comments. First, she asked me if I planned to breastfeed. (No big deal.) I said that I will try because I really want to do it longer than I did with my daughter. (I was 18 when I gave birth with my daughter and I wasn't able to eat so DD wasn't getting what she needed. she would cry and cry and never sleep. I had no help or instruction. I switched to formula after two weeks and she was able to get her fill and sleep and was so much happier.)

Anyway, my mom started making some comments about how "You know, you don't have to do *insert useless inconsequential advice here* to get your baby to drink. It should just come naturally."

I didnt say anything at the time but the more I think about it, the more it pisses me off because you know when that advice would have been warranted? 8.5 years ago when I was actually going through the breastfeeding process. It doesn't mean a damn thing to me now.

Also, I'm going to do whatever the hell works for me and my baby this go around. I hate unsolicited advice.
