I know it seems like a step back when we're all introducing more solid foods but does anyone make/buy pouches? Jackie has had a couple recently, and you can't beat them for on the go convenience. I got one of the pouch squeeze stations from my sister, but I'm debating if it's worth it to make them myself or not.
We do our own pouches and it has been great thus far. I plan to use it for on-the-go snacks as he gets older. We just did a batch of apples today. I think we saved a lot of money by doing it ourselves but it can be time consuming. We generally pick one day to do a big batch of fruits, veggies, and proteins. Takes most of the day but then we are set for a couple of months. There is a spoon attachment for the Infantino Squeeze Station that I use when we are out and about.

We do 95% of meals/snacks in pouches. Some store bought and some home made purees put in pouches. He eats puffs/baby snacks with his fingers and occasionally has bites of what we are eating but it's normally spoon fed to him. I'm not big on messes but I am trying to remind myself he needs to work on using the spoon and grabbing the food with his fingers.

I said I was gonna make all my own baby food, but it's so not worth it for us! I really just give her what we're eating because she'll try anything. She eats all real food cut into small pieces and then has an occasional pouch- I just buy organic ones. If she ate only purees maybe I would try to make my own, but for 1-2 a week it's so not worth it IMO.

We use pouches when I'm too lazy to cook breakfast. Lol. I buy organic and I'm a couponer so I never pay more than .80¢ a pouch if I can help it. They normally go for $1.50-$2.
@laurenm2123 that's what I'm trying to figure out. I made her baby food when she wasn't eating much, but now we're doing BLW and she eats what we eat. The pouches are good for when we're on the go or aren't planning to eat at the same time as her. I took some to the beach this weekend so she could eat them semi sand free. But diy pouches need refrigeration and the box said they're only good in the freezer for 2 months. Her food is provided at daycare, so really I'm only feeding her 2 days a week, so I don't think I'd go through enough to make it worth the savings.
For those of you that buy pouches which brand do you like?

When I traveled over the border and couldn't bring my pouches, the only brand that didn't make Damien vomit was Beech Nut. They have great pouches.
I make all of Jacks food, it's super easy but time consuming. I've started making them a little chunkier so he can get used to it. I've found alot of recipes on Pinterest and he's liked all of them so far! We have the squeeze station and it is super easy for on the go! I just don't trust things that is able to stay "fresh" on a store shelf for months.

Yeah, and with all the recalls over mold issues recently it makes me nervous, but I generally only use them for the convenience factor, and having them not be shelf stable and only good for 2 months wouldn't help with that.

You must be super mom. The fact that you make all is food and are still pumping so much. You should be very proud of yourself!

We mainly do Gerber Organic, they have some great combos that she loves!
I only buy organic and only clear pouches so I can see the inside. We like Happy Baby pouches. I still buy organic jarred baby food as well (earths best and beech nut).
I bought reusable pouches to use with yogurt, keifer, and jars of food (from WIC). They are great on the go and she likes that she can "hold" them as she eats. We haven't tried to do bulk recipes year but I just got more pouches so we can try it. We get beech nut jars from WIC but I stick with Peter rabbit organic (she loves anything with mango) and plum organics when I buy them. We always use organic dairy and grain though.
In a day she eats two fruit/veg/grain pouches, 4 to 5 oz dairy, freeze dried yogurt chips, and everything we eat.
We make most of Lillyana's food. We have a pouch thingy to make our own but I never do. It's just so much easier to put it in a storage container to freeze/eat right out of. Less dishes.

Hahaha Thanks, ladies. I thought your children had super powers or that my little guy was particularly slow-- but it seems just I am. Lol I have been squeezing it for him too.
Ugh, did anyone's LO attempt the Gerber Lil' Bits? Sorry, we are workaholic parents and while we used to make our LO his food, we stopped and are just tossing baby food in the daycare bag. These are stage 3 Gerbers and my LO gagged so hard he vomit. They have these little chunks of real food in them, but my LO has eaten puffs, watermelon, cookies, etc, so I can't imagine it's due to the pieces of food. They must be really gross.

I just read on the other page that your little guy went in for mucus. Maybe that was the cause of the gag/ vomit? I know personally when I have a lot of mucus sometimes I have trouble swallowing.

Nah, this was back during Spring Break, before he got sick. He made poo poo faces and then vomit. The daycare attempted to feed him again the Lil Bits, different flavor and he gagged.

We tried them and Charlotte spit it out and refused another bite and had the same reaction the second time. She eats pretty much everything we give so we gave up on those.

How weird. My LO can eat cookies, bananas, crackers, cheese puffs and other things without gagging but something about the Lil Bits makes him gag and almost vomit. I thought it was the flavor, but I tried an apple blueberry and it tasted pretty good. Still, he ate only half the tub. 2.5oz. The daycare did say that not a single child has liked these - even the hefty kids who are big eaters will refuse them. Today, the teacher told me that one hefty little boy who eats EVERYTHING (a 9 month old) finishes them off and wants more. He is the first known child who will eat these. O_O. At least they wont go to waste.
