@jessieR358 holy crap! That's crazy! I am so glad it missed your deck and your house too! Whoa. Hope your insurance covers it! Also when I read it for some reason I read it as your DH got his picture with the fire truck and that made me giggle!
Hahaha...DH liked the fire truck too. We felt really silly calling but the power company recording said we had to call 911 to report down lines. I'm so glad it didn't hit our house or deck either. Crazy thing is that none of us woke up, not even our 3 dogs. A huge metal pole was ripped off the side of our house below our bedroom window too. My dad said it's a bummer it didn't hit your deck, you could have had a brand new one ha!
This morning it rained, and then the sun came out, and then it hailed and rained more, and now it's snowing. Wtf Wyoming?
Well, in Mass. it's gorgeous, but I was outside for lunch for about 40 minutes and got SUPER red. Stupid pale skin. The grass is always greener, I suppose!
I agree that the second tri energy is a myth they tell us to just keep us going! We walked about five blocks to get brunch and back, and I can barely keep my eyes open. Also, I am all kind of cranky today. I'd say poor DH, but he's managing to push all my buttons. We've been together long enough, he should know when he can push me and when he can't, so I only feel marginally bad about the grumpiness.
@mrsmarygs this is the dog beach by the portofino condos, not the one on the way to Ft Pickens. It was great, not many people, and no asshole dogs or owners lol my dog hates water but loves playing. 2 of my friends came and brought their dogs.
Guys, I just took a 3.5 hour nap with my four year old. It was glorious.

Hello everyone! I didn't get on TB much this weekend. I went to Jacksonville for the weekend and went to the fair with my family on Saturday. Watching my eight year old ride all of the rides either with cousins or by herself (cousins were too scared) really drove home how big she is getting!
Then today we stopped ar Alexander Springs in Ocala on our way home and went swimming and on this cool nature trail.
We are so beat! Tomorrow I start training for my new claims position at work so I am really looking forward to that.
Today DH and I went to Rooms to Go and Buy Buy Baby to compare nursery sets and prices. Rooms to Go is less expensive, you get more, and you can finance it over 3 years (if you want to run your credit). Buy Buy Baby they are more expensive for only a crib and a dresser, and the quality just doesn't seem as great. Plus, there's that atrocious credit card you have to apply for and have 1 year to pay it off.
I did love the Finley bedset from Buy Buy Baby, but unless some generous grandparent wants to buy it, we won't be spending the money on it.

We have our anatomy scan this morning! Excited to get to see our little lady again--and mostly for DH to get to see and hear her as he's not been able to go to any appointments or ultrasounds.
Just getting back from our anatomy scan and I'm devastated. We had the chromosome testing a while ago that told us we had a healthy baby girl and from the anatomy scan we do have a healthy baby, but with male genitalia. I never cared what we were having just that they were healthy....but now there's a mismatch between DNA and genitalia.... I just can't wrap my head around it. We will go back and meet with one of the OBs this afternoon to talk options/where we go from here. Prayers please
@jutondreau maybe they messed up reading thr DNA?? That happens sometimes. fx it was a simple mix up with the DNA. Also, my friend was told at an anatomy scan her DD was a boy so all her babyshower everything was boy stuff so her DD just wore boy clothes with a bow on her head til she out grew all the gifted clothes.

Well that is certainly unusual and I would feel very confused as well. Hugs I hope everything is great with baby and there was just an error with a test.

That is certainly confusing. I'm sure the highest likelyhood is that there was a mix up with the DNA testing. (Hugs) will definitely be hoping/praying that it was some kind of error.
I wonder how they will confirm? Repeat a dna test and see? That is so crazy. How often are DNA tests wrong?
I just read something where a woman said her Dr didn't recommend the gender part of the DNA testing because he had seen it be wrong, specifically when it said girl. Who knows who this woman/Dr are, but I thought it was interesting.

So I just finished reading a new pregnancy book and she talked about the DNA testing. It could just mean that they didn't pick up any Y chromosomes in your blood sample. That test is not 100%. If it were me, I would be more inclined to go with the anatomy scan over the chromosomal blood test. I know this still must be stressful and worrisome, but I think this is just a lab error. Does a human actually have to sort through and see Y chromosomes? There is way more margin for error If that's the case.
@HollyGolightly09 It was a little strange because I had the anatomy scan on Friday. But the ultrasound tech wouldn't tell us anything and said the radiologist had to look at it and would call us if there were any issues. She said there was recently a lawsuit against their imaging company for "practicing medicine without a license" because the ultrasound technicians aren't doctors and can't officially diagnose anything.
I will probably call on Tuesday if I don't hear anything by then but her not being able to tell me anything made me a little nervous. She told me not to worry or lose any sleep over it. Which may have been her way of saying she didn't see anything?
@jutondreau wow, I can certainly see that would be upsetting and very confusing for you. I really hope that this is something that is straightened out very quickly, and hopefully it's just a DNA mix up. I'm so sorry you're going through this

I'm sorry this happened to you!! It also happened to a very close friend of mine when she was pregnant with her son. She had the DNA testing done very early in her pregnancy and thought it was a little girl. Apparently there is a higher chance of error earlier in pregnancy though they are still accurate for the most part.

The lab will do PCR to generate more copies of the DNA strands pulled from the blood sample. Sometimes there isn't a high enough amount of fetal DNA in the mother's blood which causes the blood test to give false results.
To answer your question about sorting through for a specific chromosome, a person will not have to do that. They have machines that will run that data for you. One usually runs the sample overnight, and a lab tech reads the results on the morning. It's a pretty simple process really. Even if the lab were super low tech and just doing a gel electrophoresis, no one would have to sort for a particular chromosome. You would be able to note the presence or lack of a Y chromosome on the gel strip very easily.
@Msashley2010 ugh... how annoying! I've heard several people say that their ultrasound techs won't ever tell them anything, so I guess it isn't super unusual. I'm sure she wouldn't have told you not to worry if she had seen something, though. Hopefully you will hear soon!
@jutondreau I just read everyone's comments and I don't have anything to add strangely! They covered it! I agree with them all. I really hope it was just an error with the DNA test and not a mismatch, will be sending lots of thoughts and prayers your way. Biggest squishiest hugs to you momma
Also hugs to you @Sugargirl1019 I'm sorry you're stressing out!
@HollyGoLightly09 I didn't mean to totally freak out Gosh though! An adjustment, for sure. But hopefully it is just truly a dna mixup being unable to find a Y chromosome originally. I did some googling on other false results and I strangely hear more about dna saying boy and baby being a girl due to vanishing twin.

Oh my gosh, what a thing to deal with! As previously stated, the sex part of the test is looking for a Y chromosome. If they didn't see it, they say girl. So I think it's entirely possible that they just didn't pick up quite enough fetal DNA. I was reading somewhere that the sex part of the test is "only" 98% accurate. FX the ob has a good plan for you. Hugs.
Thanks ladies. Ive been doing some research online through some medical journals and just praying for peace. A good girlfriend of mine said she's been reading and sees that it's more common than we think (the wrong gender results from the chromosome testing). All that being said, I'm thankful to have all of y'all's support and realize that regardless of the outcome, anatomically this baby is healthy (per the radiologist). Tricare can be annoying, but at least it will cover everything for referrals and retests. Meeting with the OB will be helpful, I hope. Hugs to each of y'all
@jutondreau I'm so glad you have good insurance. It sounds like you're having a healthy baby, regardless of the gender and I will keep all my fingers crossed they figure out what happened soon. I know it would throw me off to get the results one way and then the opposite on another test. Hugs!
@jutondreau Nothing particular to add, just that I'd feel confused too. I will praying along with you for peace, and that everything is normal and easily sorted out. ((hugs))
Re: Weekend Roll Call 4/8
@jessieR358 OMG... that sounds like a mess. At least your house is okay.
If y'all have not tried the Jolly Rancher jelly beans, you really need to put that on your to do list.

@labby18 I always avoid that beach because it's so crowded (and I don't have dogs). How was it today?
