Re: Unpopular Opinion 4/6/17

  • I think Dunkin Donuts coffee is trash. I'd also pick most other donut places over them, too. One of my biggest pregnancy cravings has been Duck donuts, which I've seen people mention on here before!

Duck Donuts is so overrated! They are very cakey - if that makes sense.
  • While we're on food: i think white chocolate should be stripped of the privilege of being called "chocolate".
Agreed! I do not like it and I love sweets!

No, no, no. White chocolate is the only chocolate I love (although I know it's not real chocolate). All other chocolate is much too rich and I don't love it. Plus they taste similarly enough to carry the same name.

I don't think this is a UO but talking about labor made me think of it... I think the show "I didn't know I was pregnant" is amazing and so interesting! We don't have dish/cable anymore so I watch it on YouTube and I am amazed every time. I also knew a lady who that happened to. How that EVER happens to someone is beyond me, I can tell I'm pregnant even before I can turn a test. I'm jealous of all the women who don't have enough symptoms to even realize that they are pregnant.
This was basically my coworker. Found out she was 5 months pregnant...surprise! No symptoms, no bump, nothing.
  • @vrj0522 I agree. White chocolate is the only chocolate I like.

Re: the Dr. Who appeal... it's been on the air for decades and decades so you have to understand that it's truly a piece of Brit cultural history. Plus it's totally a funny, escapist, thought-provoking, morality-bending show!

@vrj0522: I completely reject your premise! :) You just said it yourself, white chocolate contains no chocolate, so ipso facto you can't call it chocolate! It's purely the butter fats, so there's no way it tastes similar.
  • I've actually never seen Princess Bride...
  • @livin541 neither have I

  • I have no UO myself today, but will agree with the following:
    I hate Princess Bride.
    I don't like white chocolate.
I despise all things coconut or coconut flavored, except a good piña colada.
    I hate peeps.

    I think that is all.
  • I don't think I've seen the princess bride either. Whenever I watch the show "I didn't know I was pregnant" I think this must be a made up story. White chocolate is not chocolate but it is delicious. Breastfeeding and pumping sucks and I don't like coffee.
  • Ive been trying to think of a good one... I hate movies that make you feel bad/sad/scared. I want to be happy when im done watching... If i felt like being sad id turn on the news. I realize that makes me really picky for movies but scary movies and all that are OUT. We watched nocturnal animals last night and it was AWFUL!

  • @vrj0522 my husband's cousin was about 20 weeks pregnant at our wedding and had no clue. She got wasted, and obviously was drinking the other 20 weeks, smoked the whole time.
She had irregular periods, so missing for a few months wasn't odd, she was in nursing school and not taking care of herself so the little weight gain didn't mean much. She's a bigger girl so no bump or anything. It was insane when we all found out. Her son is perfectly fine 1 1/2 year old!
  • bacorrea, the cakiness of duck donuts is what I love about them!

  • I can't believe how many Princess Bride haters (or never-seens) there are! I  it

@bacorrea have you ever worn birkenstocks? I totally agree that they're hideous, but they are sooooo comfy it's worth every ugly step I take! And especially good for swelling pregnant feet. But I also hate flip flops, which I guess is my UO. I can't stand the feeling of things between my toes.

@vrj0522 I was just thinking about that show tonight! I was riding in an Uber and almost gasping while the baby squirmed around and used my lungs for kickboxing, and I thought, "how can ANYONE not realize they're pregnant?!" But I know it happens, and I know someone who didn't find out until she was 20 weeks along--so crazy!
  • I've never seen Princess Bride.

I'm not a fan of coconut flakes and will gladly pass on any dessert with them.

My UO is that I don't like the Housewives reality shows. My SIL watched religiously. I turned it on to see what the fuss was about and couldn't stay awake.
  • @vrj0522 this happened to my cousin - she didn't know she was pregnant until she went into labour! She was recovering from anorexia when she conceived. Hadn't menstruated regularly for years. Bloating, nausea, bigger boobs and weight gain were all attributed to her change in diet. Baby was small but healthy and she said the occasional movement she felt was attributed to gas. It was a total shock. Her doctor said it was the perfect storm for this to have happened. She's had three kids since then and another pregnancy of hers there was almost no movement either.

  • I don't believe I need to supervise my 3yr old and my dogs 100% of the time they're together, I check on them, but I will let DS play outside with the dogs while I get things done inside. Why have the dogs at all if I can't trust them as part of the family?

Side note, one of my dogs taught DS to walk and the other lets him climb on her back so they can steal food to share... they really are my other children.
My dog has never growled at a human. But I won't let DD play with her unsupervised. I don't trust DD not to hurt her and my dog not to react as a dog would when hurt. They are great with each other and best buds. Of course that could happen under supervision.   I'd hate for anything to happen without me being able to fully understand it first hand.

My cat playfully bit DD the other day right in front of me. I was like, "well, you shouldn't have petted her. She bites."  I would have been concerned if it had been aggressive, but I think this is the first time DD realized cats play with teeth and claws.

  • I never have a UO lol. But I agree princess bride isn't all that great. Coconut is alright not something I crave but I do enjoy an almond joy every once in a while! Peeps are gross.
