This is a thread where anyone can feel free to request a chart stalk, second-guess FF's interpretation, or post TTC-related questions, regardless of where in your cycle you are. Sometimes FF is wrong. That's where we come in. Get your second opinion here.

Not a chart stalk, but a TTC question - Since I have started charting I have noticed that I do not produce much EWCM. In fact, I didn't see any this cycle. I know several of you ladies take evening primrose oil and I wanted to get your thoughts on it. Did you see a significant increase in EWCM production? Do you take starting CD1 until O? Do you recommend a certain brand? Are there any recent grads that used it?

@morado23 yes!!! I started taking evening primrose oil last cycle because I had hardly any EWCM and both last cycle and this cycle I had a lot of it and for multiple days instead of maybe one day like I used to. I take it CD1 until O and I use the Target brand, you have to take three pills a day so I usually just take one after each meal.

@morado23 I would definitely read up on Primrose before taking it. if you're using it for ttc purposes it suggests stopping it after ovulation because it can cause uterine contractions that could prevent implantation. (It being dr google.) It also says right on the bottle not to take if you are pregnant and that it can cause "reproductive system adverse effects." Search for the great big supplement thread on here- it's definitely worth a look!
@Redpuma119 - That's why I asked if those who took it stopped at O in my original post, because I had read about the uterine contractions. I did actually go back and read that thread, but I didn't see where anyone definitively said that primrose oil had increased their production of EWCM. I'm sorry if you felt like I was unecassirly asking a redundant question.

@morado23 Not an unnecessary question at all. I often have questions about supplements so I'm always going back to that thread! I thought taking primrose was a good idea and then read up on it so I wanted to pass that info along!
@wabash15 - I do see a couple of days of wet CM and one day of EWCM if I'm lucky, which is why I feel like maybe I could find a way to produce a little more!

Ok also, I'm here because I wanted to share my chart and get insights. FF originally said I O'd on Friday, the switched to Saturday. Any guesses why? And what's that drop on 27 about? Thanks ladies. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm doing it anyway!
@aalauren - I agree with FF about O-ing on CD 16. I think it adjusted the day baesed on how your temps rose above the coverline. Also, most people O 12-36 hours after a +OPK. Otheres may have better insight, but I think the chart is right and you're doing a great job collecting data!

Hey ladies - the folks on TWW suggested I share my chart here. My temp has been inconsistent but it is largely my fault I think because I've been getting up to take it. I had EWCM starting CD13 evening, had it through CD14, then it was gone. Admittedly CF is still a bit slippery. Secondary signs - cramping on CD 14, and around CD10 cervix became softer and starting today is firmer again. I think I O'd on CD14 but with temps so erratic it's hard to confirm. Took OPKs several times CD13 and 14 but negative (but I drink a lot of water so?).
Any my thoughts are appreciated. I am going to have to start being better with the temps going forward, clearly.
@zamora_spin There is no ovulation pattern that I can see currently on your chart. I would suggest to continue using OPKs, temping and HIO. Also just as an FYI, if you decided to switch to temping vaginally do not do so until the start of your next cycle as vaginal temps are generally higher than oral and they can really mess with your chart.

Eek, thank you very much - because of your suggestion and the suggestions of the ladies on the TWW thread I decided to try taking another OPK while I was home just now for lunch and it was positive - and then I took another to be sure, also positive (I am rich in Wandfo tests). I am relieved to both have certainty and at least one more shot at well-timed BD tonight. Never would have thought to test it again if not for y'alls help. Even though we have just started TTC, at 35 I am trying to make every cycle count. Thanks also on the additional temp tip.
@zamora_spin I understand making every cycle count due to age, I'm 36 and feel like the clock is ticking as the cycles go by. The ladies on this board are a wealth of knowledge and information and are always happy to offer help and suggestions.

GL to you and thanks again, I hope this is your cycle! I think for us ladies 35 and up it is hard not to get a bit psyched out by the way that people talk about fertility after 35. We will work on proving them wrong

Yep, I've noticed that FF will always adjust O to the day before the temp spike. So because CD17 is higer then the previous 6 days it predicts that CD16 is O. Idk a lot about OPKs and what the norm is but I do know that it can take some women up to 2 days after O to see their temperature rise. So it's not always the next day like FF tends to predict but you also have the OPKs to go off of so if what Morado23 is saying about 12-36hrs is true then CD16 is probably right!
My temps always rise very similar to your chart though and your rise between CD15 and 16 is what always makes me question O as well. Cuz why would your temp spike that much unless your body hasn't already started releasing progesteone? Sorry, don't mean to confuse you more, I've just felt stuck with this as well.

@JJMNO1616 That is incorrect. Your temp rises the day after O but the rise pattern can vary even from cycle to cycle with the same person. What I think you meant to say is that it can take some women up to 2 days after a +OPK to see a temperature rise and confirm O. O typically happens anywhere from 12-48 hours after a +OPK
@aalauren Based on the watery CM you had on CD17 I would actually venture to say that's when O was

@lulu1180 It's very possible that I am confused because I have certainly been feeling that way lol but... according to what I have read in TCOYF the 24hr temp rise after O isn't always true. I actually took a picture of what the book says (see below). Please let me know if I am misinterpreting what this is saying though!
@JJMNO1616 Huh... I've been following this just because I always learn a lot from conversations like this and once again, I relearned something I must have skimmed over when I read TCOYF. Thanks for sharing
@Sailing_Mama It's kind of hidden. This page out of the book was in the "trouble shooting your cycle" section and is being discussed in regards to LP defects. I only found it because I actually went digging for it after reading online that some women do O more then 24hrs before the temp rise. I never recalled this from my first read through the book either.
JJMNO1616 I have the same issue with the slow reaction to progesterone. It really threw me off at first. If you have the 20th Anniversary edition of TCOYF there's a longer explanation of this on p. 102 in the gray box. FF actually showed mine correctly but IDK why.
@JJMNO1616 I basically reread that whole chapter looking for it because my CM completely dries up 2-3 days before my temp rise (with OPKs lining up with the CM--not with the temp rise.)
@vflux33 So it seems like in terms of PP @aalauren this wouldn't apply because her CM is pretty consistent with her temp rise. For me, the confusion is that my fertile CM seems to last forever... i'll have 5-7 days of watery or EWCM with a slow temp rise. So it's super difficult for me to tell what's happening. I should probably start experimenting with OPKs.

Interesting. Yeah, I agree that does sound different. Either way I'd def invest in some OPKS!
What are some reasons to discard a temperature? I think I need to discard today's but I'm not sure. I KNOW I was breathing through my mouth all night long last night, and my temp was significantly higher than previous temps. Do I give it a couple days to see if they stay higher? Or go ahead and discard?
@cecilb93 typically we don't recommend discarding a temp unless it was a clear fever. I would keep it for now and if it appears to be messing with your O interpretation than you can discard it. I often keep temps when I've been mouth breathing.

Okay. It just threw me off because yesterday's was so high (as I mentioned above) and then today's was almost a whole degree lower. Yesterday I had dotted crosshairs marking 3 days prior as O then they went away today. Still my first cycle temping (currently CD47), so I apologize if I have dumb questions at any point...
I need a chart stalk, mostly because I'm getting impatient.
I've had several days of fertile CM. A long stretch of fertile CM has happened for me in the past so it's not out of the ordinary. The watery CM has been a combo between watery and creamy. It dried up a bit yesterday, turning more into sticky with a bit of EWCM. I also had a massive headache and nausea all day yesterday, which I've noticed are a sign of O for me.
The OPK was slightly darker yesterday and then lighter today. I'm wondering if it was + because I don't even turn it as dark as the control line. I marked it as positive on my chart for now. Question: is O today?

*lurking / loss and pregnancy mentioned* @JMN02184@lulu1180 Disclaimer: the two cycles I'm about to discuss are immediately post loss, but I didn't get a temp spike for 2-3 days after O these times. It's definitely not my typical pattern, but I didn't get my spike until after my OPKs went negative. Also, judging by my last two ultrasounds, (another two tomorrow), I probably did ovulate a couple of days before the spike because baby has measured 2-3 days ahead in both. It's still early, so who knows... but it could definitely be possible.
ETA baby is now measuring 4 days ahead on both ultrasounds.

First time poster here, so i may be in the wrong spot lol But I suck at reading BBT charts and kinda need someone to look at it a tell me what they see. I havent ovulated or seen AF in 5+ years and started taking metformin in February. my chart is usually erratic and crazy but it seams to be leveling out(metfomin maybe?) and i think i finally have a ovulation pattern, but then it dropped but I haven't seen AF yet.
