Here's another lame on for you; I don't like coconut flakes or coconut cream pie or anything with the coconut flakes on top. It's a texture thing.  Now a coconut pina coloda?! I'll take that any day.
Mmmmmm that sounds SO good right now!!

  • I totally say my bad haha. And I don't care for coconut stuff in general but DH loves that stuff.

He hates it when I say pretty good or pretty great.

I strongly dislike Angelina Jolie. I don't think she's that pretty.  I don't care for her movies.  She's an obvious man stealer.  It truly bothers me when people talk about how wonderful she is because she adopted all these children from other countries.  I know first hand from working in the foster care system how many children in THIS country need safe, happy homes.
I would love this more than once, if I could. I know part of my dislike comes from my intense love for Jennifer Aniston and general "Friends" obsession, but it is what's it is. I do like a lot of her movies though. I've spent many nights watching "Girl, Interrupted."
  • I forgot to add my UO in my response above. I think being too full is more uncomfortable than being hungry.
  • All I can come up with is that I hate peeps. I think they are disgusting!
You, my friend, are not alone. Even before I became a vegetarian and couldn't eat them, I hated peeps. I loved marshmallows, but not in peep form.
  • @ChristinaWild Well now I just want to stuff my face with macarons, YUM

  • @sarah0985 I agree! If you are going to snoop why wrap the presents anyways?

@livin541 I was totally a Reese's anything and still kind of am. First year DH and I were together it was his first time celebrating Christmas (he's Egyptian) and he filled my entire stocking with Reese's trees. I love them but after eating so many I'm kind of over them. Don't hate me. I will eat one or two here and there but a whole bag is a no go now.

Hate coconut nut taste but LOVE coconut smell

my UO I don't like small dogs. They are yippy, usually untrained as they are small and just annoying. I will love on a medium or large dog any day but small dog no thanks.
  • mmm reese's eggs...amazingly I still have 2 in the fridge at home!

@swe2 that's sad, but I get it. I think you'd like Stella even though she's a small dog ;) haha she's not real yippy and is pretty well trained. She used to be better, but then we lived with my parents and well their dog is not very trained and she developed some bad habits!

  • @BeachMommy2B My fiancé is the same way.. he only likes a handful of kids that have grown on him, like fam kids or our godson. When I've offered to babysit the look on his face is " no, no, no. please, no"

I finally have one of my own on a Thursday!
I think it's really tacky to check what others have bought off of your registry before they've given you the gifts. I liken it to snooping for Christmas presents in your parents closet. I like to be surprised when receiving gifts and when giving gifts, I like to see the persons face when they open their gifts. Especially if it's something they really wanted.

Okay, I was definitely guilty of this with DS- but only so I could start writing thank you cards! It was so nice to write them as people bought things, then have them ready to send after the shower. Maybe it's tacky, but it's tackiness no one knows about. Plus, it helped with my post-shower laziness- and I have super punctual thank you cards that I took more time to write than I would have had I sat down to write them all at once!

@SWE2 - Totally agree re: small dogs, with few exceptions. Generally, I like small dogs who act like big dogs. Also, the only cats I like are those that act like big dogs. So, really...I only like big dogs.

I LOVE coconut! Give me all of the Almond Joy bars and pina coladas! The only thing coconut related that I'm not crazy about is coconut water.

Peeps are completely disgusting. Princess Bride and Angelina Jolie are both overrated.

    Still thinking on my UO....

I read that as "Princess Brad" which is quite fun haha

I like other people's kids just fine but I would never babysit them unless they're obviously in a pinch and a close friend of mine...and maybe someone who could reciprocate when we're in a pinch. But I wouldn't be doing it "for fun" or to make extra cash or whatever. Nope. And I wouldn't enjoy it.

My UO -- I have said this before for my UO, but I don't like SUVs or minivans. It's just on my mind now that we are looking into a new car. So my full UO is that my ideal car (for a family of 5!) is a station wagon that looks & drives like a car and has manual transmission. Also, preferrably no or very few bells and whistles. I guess I've come around to the safety-related bells and whistles, but I'm not interested in the entertainment-related ones. I know this is a UO because it's extremely difficult to find the car I want. Basically I want to buy a car from the 80s/90s like the volvo station wagon we had when I was a kid. OR maybe the tesla that has the rear facing seats with 5 pt harnesses. It looks like the golf sportwagen might work for us but we were hoping for something used/cheaper. The cars that fit us are the 90s / early 2000s subaru outbacks and the like, and those are impossible to find with less than like 200K miles on them. If I'm getting a used car I'd rather it be under 50K miles.

I was looking at the labor and delivery thread, and I thought of another UO I have. I actually am interested in looking at placentas. I'll also google mucous plugs from time to time. I'm a first time mom, and I want to know what they can look like. And my embarrassing confession is that I sometimes watch YouTube videos of gross things, from terrible pimples to a worm being surgically removed from an eyeball. It's not something I'm proud of.
  • Peeps and coconut are gross.

The Princess Bride will forever be a classic solely for how quotable it is.

@Jens_Hoes Angelina Jolie is definitely overrated. Obviously I don't know her personally, but the timing of all the adoptions always made me feel like they were less about the children and more about changing the public's image of her as a husband thief who drinks blood and kisses her brother.

I prefer big dogs, but there are a few little dogs that have grown on me.

@kat81 I don't agree about SUVs, mostly because I live somewhere that necessitates having one but I agree with everything else. It's so hard to find a car these days that doesn't have all the unnecessary electronics. I guess I prefer simplicity.

My UO: I enjoy most nerdy things and everyone kept recommending Dr. Who, but I just can't see the big deal and couldn't get into it.
  • Ya'll are crazy, I love coconut anything..especially Pina Coladas!

Peeps and Cadbury Eggs are disgusting. I'm obsessed with the Reese's Eggs that are kind of like Reese's Pieces but bigger. I think I've eaten like 3 bags this month.

I can't stand Angelina Jolie either. I like the Princess Bride but don't get the cult following, it's just ok in my opinion. Along the same lines I can't stand The NeverEnding Story, I don't get all the hype over it at all.

  • @MollyandD I think placentas are pretty cool and love to look at them afternoon deliveries. It's  cool to see how they differ in size, color, how the cords all look so different (thick, thin, super corkscrewy) and how that impacts do the baby (big fatty babies, little skinny ones, etc).

As for mucous plugs I have more leniency when seeing them on here, but please don't save it on tissue paper to show to your L&D nurse. We will laugh at you :)  but when I lost mine I had a momentarily panic because I didn't know what it was. Contractions started almost immediately. I felt goofy later for freaking out about it.

  • My UO is I hate blueberries! But add me to the Reece's egg club:)
  • I will not google the plug.

I never noticed losing my plug with DD. I honestly don't know if it happened too gradually to notice, or if it was just on one of my liners and I didn't see it, or if I never lost it before labor. And my labor/delivery was so fast and urgent that I was still answering basic questions after DD arrived while delivering my placenta that I never saw that either. I only saw DD's umbilical stub after they cut the cord and I was able to hold her later.

This time, I've had some discharge the past few weeks that I didn't have with DD. It's not a lot and it's without abnormal odor or discomfort so my OB isn't worried about it. It's also not every day. I've read the plug can present as discharge, but I've also read that discharge is a means to keep the birth canal flushed out and prevent infection etc., so IDK?

But I'm still not googling it.
