I am a FTM and I have ABSOLUTELY no idea or basis for these guesses, but here goes nothing

Birth date: July 7 (due July 5)
Birth weight: 7lb 13ounces

Total time in labor: 15 hours.

I have no idea where I got any of those numbers. The only thing I have any sort of inkling on is the due date, I feel like I will go a few days late.

So I haven't talked about this much on here, but my dad had a massive stroke in January of 2016 and has permanent brain damage which makes him confused a lot and his memory is not great. We kind of joke that he has psychic powers now because a few times, he has said that he saw something (the end of a sporting event or something like that) and will tell us how it ends, and each time it's actually happened. He did it for the super bowl! Well, he keeps telling people my due date is July 7 instead of July 5, so my mom and I keep joking that if the baby comes on July 7, dad really is psychic!

FTM, expecting to go late. Talked to the doc about risks of going beyond one week late (my sister was two weeks late and I was one week late), so I'm thinking I'll get very close to being panicked about having to justify wanting to wait longer -as long as the baby is healthy of course. And then she will come out like JUST KIDDING!! Weight based a bit on me and DH. Feeling like I'm gonna have an overnight kinda situation but I'm expecting the whole vaginal labor thing will happen relatively quickly or not at all (cs)... seems like that's how it happens a lot these days

Me and my brothers gave my mom a hard time, all of us went late, were super long labors and 10lb (or close). I hope that whole follow your own birth isn't particularly accurate.

just your friendly neighborhood know it all here checking in, but unless your doctor is planning on inducing because you're "measuring ahead" (which is NOT A MEDICAL INDICATION -- if you are a FTM please think long and hard about an induction before post dates if not for a medical indication), you are no more likely to go early than measuring "on time". The measuring is based on percentiles and there are big babies and small babies, that's how a bell curve works. (Not calling you out @SquirttheTurtle! it's something I see everywhere)

I was in labor for 12 hours with DD1 before emergency c-section. Both my girls weighed the same (7lbs 15oz) DD1 was born at 38w even and DD2 was born at 38w5d.

Birth Date: 7/27- just thinking 7/27/17would be fun and my due date is 7/26. DD was 5 days late so I'd be happy with 1

DD was 7lbs 10oz and I just think this one will be a little bigger.

Birth Time: 11am
DD was 4:05 so I'm guessing morning baby this time.

Total time in Labor: 8 hours. I'm with you @tripledaggerWed95976, a girl can dream! Total labor with DD from the start of very first contraction to birth was 14 hours, so I'd like to knock a couple hours off that in a dream world. Mostly I just don't want to push for 2 hours again.

Birth Date: July 8th. DH thinks she will come early and SMIL thinks she'll come on the 7th (07.07.2017) I think she'll be late regardless. I was only a day late, not sure about DH. My EDD is July 5th.
Birth Weight: I'm going to go with 7lbs 8oz. I was 7.5 and DH was 7.12 (does that make sense? I know there's 16oz in a lb but I've never heard of a baby being 7.12 oz lol)
Birth Time: Oh my gosh I have no idea. 2:42am.
Total time in Labour: My mom had long labours (as did most women back then. 24h with me and 36h with my sister) But my sister had relatively short ones. I'm going to say 10 hours give or take, from beginning to end.
Team Pink - however I've been worrying lately about the possibility of them being wrong. What a nightmare that would be! (In terms of all the clothing and bedding that we've bought. Not that we'd be unhappy with a boy)

I am basing the birthdate on the fact that my DD was 3 1/2 weeks early because I was induced for pre-eclampsia. My current BP has been higher than baseline (130-140s/90s), I have some protein in my urine and my platelets are also low... coupled with kidney stone issues and hydronephrosis, I am assuming this baby will be early, although I am hoping I keep him/her in a little longer than my DD! The weight, I completely guessed!

FTM here with a question out of curiousity, since I see a lot of people referencing their own birth and siblings births: is there any genetic correlation at all between your own birth and then the birth of YOUR child? I didn't think that birth weight, time in labor, etc. could be considered genetic and then therefore pass onto you with the birth of your child. I understand comparing your own previous children's births but I think it's interesting some are basing their predictions on their own birth (their mom giving birth to them).

@kat0607 my doctor told me explicitly that not only does pregnancies and deliveries vary from family but vary from even your own. Certain genetic factors may come into play but if your own pregnancies and deliveries can vary so drastically that unless there is something specific you know about (For example I am a bleeder so I hemorrhaged both times - they had blood in the OR my second time because of it), i think it's more fun to conjecture.

My mom had small babies and my son was almost 10 lbs and my daughter was 7.6 and came more than 3 weeks early which was the size of my moms biggest and overdue baby and we are built identical.

Interesting to see a lot of first time moms guessing an early delivery. I had always assumed my first would be late (and she was....). I guess its based on a lot of the anecdotal stories of those around you.

I think it's a myth that FTMs typically deliver late. I believe the true stats show that it's pretty 50/50.

Granted take this with a grain of salt, I didn't dig too far into the methodology although it seems sound. I truly think it's closer to 50/50 too once you factor in repeat c-sections (typically scheduled at 39 weeks) but I think there is some good info in here.

@kat0607 I had read that how early or late you go from your due date does have some genetic basis in what happened to your mother. I don't remember the source so take it with a grain of salt. As far as measuring the baby's weight based on me and my husband's weight at birth, I was basing that on the fact that my husband's family has big heads (no way around that) and my kids head was measuring a bit big at the anatomy scan so I'm assuming that my little girl will be just a little bit bigger than I was (w my normal sized head at 7lb, 3oz) but not as big as the average American boy at birth (about 8lbs per the CDC) and less than my husband (8lb, 14 oz). But anyways, whether it's based in fact/science or not... it's all we have to go by

Birth Date: June 15th (38 weeks is my induction/possible c section date, which is the end of June. The average for twin pregnancy is 36 w so I am thinking it'll be 36w. My 40 wk isn't until July 13).
Birth Weight: Baby a - 5lbs. Baby b - 5lbs. I hope they get to 6 each, but I think they will be on the small side.
Birth Time: Hmmm. 2am . bc why wouldn't it be inconvenient? If it's a C section, then 10am. I want the first appointment of the day.
Total time in Labor: 20 hours. (basing this on NOTHING).

It makes me chuckle to myself seeing all these pre-due-date predictions (I did it too, so I'm not judging!) because we're all optimists

My prediction is based partly on DS's birth and partly on pure hope

He was born one day early @ 7 lbs 13 oz after 13 hours of labor start to finish. I just like the sound of 7/7/17 so that what's I guessed but we shall see what really happens!
