@Msashley2010 I gotta say, I don't think I'm the most secure person either, especially anymore. I will definitely let him know how it makes me feel when he does what he's been doing. Thank you for your advice!!
@bridge-and-wall not cool. I don't get how people can just eat/drink something that they know isn't theirs. Last time someone stole my soda, it turned out to be the CEO, later in the day he was like oh i drank someone's root beer earlier sorry... who's was it? He apologized and gave me money for it... but it's like I don't want a root beer now I wanted one with my lunch which is why I brought it! People sometimes
The TW award goes to a tree trimming and chipping company currently trimming trees away from power lines in my neighborhood. They work from 6am to 9pm all weekend and yesterday and the sound of their machines is getting annoying. There's no noise ordinence here so complaining won't do anything. I just hope they finish soon and leave.
I know I've mentioned this nurse at various points, but to recap: There is a nurse you see until 16w at the midwives group I go to, and after that, you see the midwives. I'm overweight, but a size 14 and tall, so it's not like I'm the biggest person this nurse has ever had cross her path. For reference, the nurse is not overweight.
So, I've dealt with various little comments she's made since I saw her a month before I got pregnant. At my 12w appt, it was, "Well, because of mom's size, we may not be able to hear baby's heartbeat externally". I never had to deal with this at my last midwives' group, and all they ever said was hey, don't gain too much weight. Yesterday, I had an early gestational diabetes test. I asked what the cutoff is, and she said, "135. We'll see if you pass." I got the results today- 104. Passed with flying colors. I wish I had another appt with her, just so I could rub it in her face. Twatwaffle of my week.
Oh jeeeeees. So my boss has not said one word to me about the work I "didn't do" (according to coworker B ). But I was just at her desk, and the form I "didn't do" is printed out and sitting on her desk (fully finished, because I fixed the computer issue this morning). So that cow went ahead and emailed my boss (she works overnights). Oh I hope this blows up in her face.
@ColoradoHiker That is so unprofessional. I wonder if there is a way (or if it's worth it) for you to mention it to the midwives at the practice... I'm sure she's behaved this way to others.
@ColoradoHiker I had a medical assistant tell me I was "growing a big baby" when she weighed me once. I am not overweight, but I gained a lot of weight with my DS. I was like thanks a lot! Weight comments are not appropriate. I don't ever comment on someone's weight unless it's medically necessary and it's matter of fact statement, not passive aggressive comments to make someone feel bad. So sorry you have to deal with that.
@ColoradoHiker I would definitely say something to someone. At the very least the midwife, when you get to see her. That's so rude and unprofessional. I'm so emotional and so worried about my weight. If I had a nurse like that, I'd probably cry
@ColoradoHiker WOW that's ridiculous, I can't believe she said that to you! I'm sorry I wish we could all see her face when she saw your results. I'm so petty next time I'd be saying something like "Man did you see my GD test results? I did so good!" But like I said, I'm petty lol
My TW today is DH. He has been off all day and did nothing but nap. He has been asking for favors all week, and I haven't said no once. Today I asked for 1 thing, the only thing I asked him for all week, and he is too busy / makes up this excuse about how he is upset that I wasn't horny when he woke me up Sunday night at 1am when I had to be up to get ready for work at 4am. Don't wake up the pregnant lady for sex when she has to be up before the ass crack of dawn! The answer will almost definitely be no.
So I had just got got off a 10 hour shift working since 5am; so I am exhausted. DH had said he was making dinner tonight and said not to cook. I waited for 2 hours and then asked when he planned to cook. Apparently he wasn't hungry since he ate lunch late so he decided wasn't going to make or eat anything for dinner.
DH is usually awesome, but this man period crap this week is killing me!
Thanks, ladies. The kind of weird part is that I actually like this nurse for being a straight shooter, she definitely tells it like it is. But when it comes to the weight related stuff she could be a bit more tactful. If she had said anything more like the GD test comment, I would report her. Having someone cast doubt on your ability to pass the test bc of your weight is definitely demoralizing, though. I won't see her anymore, so at least there's that.
@ColoradoHiker I would be absolutely pissed with her behavior. How hurtful. As if pregnancy isn't already hard enough on our bodies. Being shamed for the size of your body and making assumptions about your health and commenting about it to you is absolutely ridiculous. I would definitely mention something to the midwife about her poor bedside manner.
I can get a bit of an attitude when medical professionals are rude to me. Last pregnancy I had a very overweight medical assistant make some hurtful comments to me about my weight gain near the end of my pregnancy. (I had gained 35 lbs but I was underweight before I got pregnant so it was an acceptable amount of weight to gain.) Then she began to lecture me about proper diet and exercise as if I'd just sat on the couch the whole pregnancy eating cheese puffs. I told her that I really hope that she is practicing in her life what she preaches to her patients because I would never judge her health based solely upon her weight the way that she was judging me.

I won't even lie. This is how I gained 76 pounds with DS. Lol.

If my energy would kick in so I don't want to spend my days off like this, that would be great!!

I love that you said that, I'm don't think I'd be quick enough to come up with a good response in the moment! People can be so insensitive.
Cheese puffs though. That sounds delicious right now.
I'm going to go with the guy who tried to break into our house at 2am this morning waking us all up. Broke out the back door frame but didn't come in thanks to my husband and our friend who was staying the night chasing him off. And we called the police who caught him thank goodness. But....Eek. My stepson didn't wake up which was also a big plus.
Mine, a day late, is the OB clinic I wasn't trying to make an appointment with. After playing phone tag for 3 days I finally talked to someone. After her being super judgey and asking me repeatedly if I was sure I hadn't hadn't any prenatal care (I've been dealing w insurance stupidness) she tells me the firstborn available appointment is April 21st...and their website advertises same day appointments available if you call before noon. Ugh. Then I callles the only other OB clinic that takes Tricare and they won't even schedule my appointment until after my insurance is effective on April 1st. But the lady "thinks" they have an appointment available in the next 2-3 weeks. So they are both getting nominated.

This is terrifying and I'm really glad you all are okay and nothing happened! I'm sure you're all a little shaken up though. This is why I have a 9 ready to go in the gun cabinet in my room. DH works nights sometimes and I know if something bad happened while he was gone I'd need it. Hugs to you and your family.

So scary! Glad everything turned out okay and everyone's fine (although shaken up I'm sure!)
Thanks everyone. It was the best possible felony burglary scenario it could have been. Our property management is getting someone out to replace everything today, no one got hurt, our son slept through the whole thing... I'd still rather not deal with it but...Could have been a lot worse. And the guy is in jail. I am definitely a bit freaked out though!
@wineren oh my goodness, I'm so glad that didn't escalate further and that the guy was chased off. How scary that must have been. I'm glad he was caught too!!
