Re: Monday Ticker Change 3/27
1. 37 wks!
2. Swiss Chard.
3. Pink. No name.
4. Wednesday NST and routine appt.
5. It's hard for me to get out of bed. Lots of (expected) pelvic pressure. I'm tired. Other than that I feel great.
6. Rave- My mother blessing was yesterday and it was so lovely. I felt so much love and support and I really needed that more than I knew. I'll post a pic of my belly henna and the necklace made from the beads below in a separate reply. Rant- I am feeling a little bummed about 3 people who didn't show up. two of my oldest friends and our nanny that has been with us for 2.5 years. I am trying not to dote on it though.
7. Washed the last load of laundry, DH did his final tasks as well so he is done with his prep. All we have left to do is order a few things off our Amazon registry when I get paid this week, I will lanolize the baby wool and I need to finish packing my hospital bag including buying a bottle of crampbark tincture today.
8. I feel very ready in all the ways. I love giving birth so zero apprehension and I'm mentally ready. Our house is ready. My mom isn't in town yet, but we have 2 back up people to come be with our kids if I go into labor before 4/5 when my mom arrives. My close friend is due 3/30 and we share a doula so I hope she has the baby soon so I don't have any worries about our births overlapping and one of us not being able to utilize our amazing doula!

1. How far along are you? 37 weeks--early term!
2. How big is baby? Approximately 6 pounds?? 5?
3. Team pink, blue or green? Pink!
4. Appts this week? Regular weekly at 37+2 on Wednesday.
5. Symptoms? Reflux is still lingering. Muscle aches and spasms in legs, glutes. BH literally all day and my belly is rarely NOT right like an overinflated basketball.
6. Rants/Raves? DH felt this weekend that our lives are almost over and we'll never get out on a date again (lol), so he took me out and we explored the city some and went to the Cheesecake Factory. That cheesecake was fantastic. I took it home and have managed to get it to last three servings.
Oh and rant: I just do not feel like shaving my legs constantly, and yet every day I think "if I go into labor I'm going to be so prickly and wish I'd shaved." Even though I know in the end it won't matter to anyone. Lol.
7. What have you done to prepare for baby the past week? Just about finished the hospital bag--but there are things I'll have to throw in at the last minute because I need them until go time. DH installed the car seat. Preregistered at the hospital. Wrote several more thank you notes. Does bathing the dog count?
8. Are you feeling ready? (mentally, physically, etc) Yeah. Part of me wants to have all my t's crossed, but the other part of me doesn't care if the thank you notes are finished or the house is spotless or I make it to my last day of work. Mentally labor is still intimidating. But the biggest part of me is thinking the same way--I kind of don't want to overthink it and just go in ready to push out a kid and that's it.
1. How far along are you? 37 weeks
2. How big is baby? Romaine lettuce
3. Team pink, blue or green? Pink! Miss Hailey Grace
4. Appts this week? Had an NST/OB check up this morning and ultrasound for Thursday. Everything looked good with baby girl so we got the all clear for this week. She offered to check me since I've been having contractions but I don't think I'm in early labor so I declined. We will check next week just to see if these contractions are doing anything.
5. Symptoms? Lots of contractions - a mix of braxton hicks and real ones. The real ones really do catch me off guard. Other than that, just lots of heartburn.
6. Rants/Raves? Starting drinking red rasberry tea - hoping it helps to get things progressing so if we have to be induced then we won't have to come in the night before. I'm really hoping to be able to leave within 24 hrs of having this baby. Of course, that's dependent on a million factors but it's still a hope!
7. What have you done to prepare for baby the past week? We got the final items we ordered in so totally a relief. I ordered the most adorable blanket that has her name/monogram written in different fonts. Can't wait to use it in her hospital photos. Also got the last item needed for her nursery (sign from TheTrendyTimber) for above her crib - it's adorable and the perfect final piece. I also finished putting together the postpartum baskets for each bathroom. All in all just need to keep up with the house being clean and we should be good to go!
8. Are you feeling ready? (mentally, physically, etc) Haha nope. I tend to avoid thinking about actual labor/delivery until it's go time. It's worked for me before so I'd expect it'll be just fine this time (let's hope so!). If I really prepared myself mentally, I think I would just go down the path of what ifs and it just wouldn't be beneficial for me. I can't really wrap my mind around have 2 kids but I know once she's here she'll just fit right into the family perfectly. DS seems really ready for sister to be here so that's a huge relief.

Hopefully I did it right? We wanted something fairly simple and this seemed to fit the bill perfectly!

1. How far along are you? 38 weeks
2. How big is baby? Winter Melon/Swiss Chard
3. Team pink, blue or green? Pink, Harper Elaine
4. Appts this week? Sizing Ultrasound tomorrow morning, and a visit with the Midwife on Friday.
5. Symptoms? Pelvic pressure and low back pain. It feels like I'm about to start my period! What's that all about?
6. Rants/Raves? The crib (and dresser) was supposed to be delivered 2 weeks ago, but the store called to say they got the wrong one in (same style and color, but without an added feature of 3 upholstered inserts), and could have the right one in a week. Now they say it will be several more weeks, but they aren't sure. Although it doesn't make much sense, they are going to deliver and set up the wrong crib until they can get the right one in. I feel a bit irrational having the wrong crib delivered. I know we've got time, and she won't be sleeping in her crib for the first few weeks. But without the big things in the room, the nursery is just a bunch of piles of decorations and clothes. I really thought we'd be all set by now.
7. What have you done to prepare for baby the past week? We picked up the rocking chair, installed the car seats, set up the bassinet and changing station in our room, set up the pack n play in the living room, and put together the bouncer. Once we get the crib we can put her decorations on the wall and put away her clothes so we can organize the closet a little better.
8. Are you feeling ready? (mentally, physically, etc). I feel mostly ready at home, if she were to come tomorrow, it wouldn't be a big deal that the decorations aren't on the wall. However, I don't feel ready at work, but I'm getting there. I'm really learning to let go, and I think it will help me in the future, but man is it hard!

1. How far along are you?: 36 weeks, 4 weeks to go!
2. How big is baby?: papaya according to the bump. At my growth ultrasound last week at 35w2d, she was measuring apx. 18 inches long and apx. 6lbs, 13oz. Taking those measurements with a grain of salt of course but holy cow lol
3. Team pink, blue or green?: pink!
4. Appts this week?: regular ob appointment tomorrow
5. Symptoms?: I think baby cracked my rib! I'm in so much pain and there's nothing that can really be done, argh! Of course also the usual reflux, back pain, insomnia and the occasional Braxton hicks.
6. Rants/Raves?: rave: I should be getting everything I ordered to complete the registry tomorrow, which is awesome! I'm also getting so excited to meet this little munchkin DH has been in hardcore nesting mode this weekend...he's been steaming all the floors, steaming the couch, pillows, just everything. I think it's adorable haha and I truly appreciate how he just jumps right in to help out.
Rant: my ribs are KILLING me.
7. What have you done to prepare for baby the past week?: cleaning the house from top to bottom! Also, we set up her nursery with what we had available. Once everything else arrives it'll be complete
8. Are you feeling ready? (mentally, physically, etc): I think I'm ready . I just want her out safely and I am so anxious to meet her! Even though it's hard at this point, im trying to enjoy what's left of my pregnancy. I'm trying my best to overlook the discomforts and enjoy every little hiccup and kick I feel while I can. Once she's out, that's the end of it and I know I'll miss those little things that only I was able to experience with her
