@nda_roxybabe@LilMissCrafty umm I must be doing it wrong bc what are these wipes you speak of supposed to be used for? I honestly just noticed some alcohol or something wipe packets at my last visit and didn't think anything of them until now. WHich if I was supposed to do something with them I might be mortified that I'm not.
lol they're like alcohol wipes, but something else. To clean up your bits before you pee in the cup.
So the Halloween one is where I would fall on the other side of the fence. I feel that kids should be able to dress how they want for Halloween, they are just pretending to be one of their favorite characters. I don't feel there is racism in a 6 year olds heart...
For example, there was issues with a Moana costume around Halloween time of Chief Tui. I don't understand how a child wanting to wear a bodysuit that was tan with the tattoos and muscles to look like one of their favorite characters should be taken as offensive.
This is probably about the extent of my original comment, when I feel this way it normally comes down to kids.
I don't think my friend's 6-month old chose to dress like a Native American. And if my kid wanted to dress like a specific race, instead of a specific person, I would steer them to something else. If my kid wanted to grab a Disney Moana costume, I'd let her wear that, but there would be no face painting (think blackface). I think you can dress like a character or famous person of another race without being offensive.
@WombThereItIs I totally went to that website, put in my information, and laughed. Almost two weeks at one "percentage"? hahahahahaha @nda_roxybabe I despise people who skip the wipe when they're told to use it, but it interferes with my job and makes me do additional unnecessary testing. That said, if you ever think you might have a UTI, use it or don't be mad when the doc says you don't have one.
I've seen those wipes by the pee cups, but I've never been told to use one before. I had no clue they were for wiping myself. I assumed they were to wipe the cup if it got wet on the outside.

Interesting! All my suspected UTI's (ugh, rough few years) came back positive so maybe they were bad, haha.

That's what I thought they were for too! I've never been told to use them last time or this time either.
I keep rolling my eyes at all the people posting odds of having a baby on a given day based on the WTE website. Skeptical stat nerd side of me is like what is there source data and methodology? And most importantly the standard errors on those estimates? Because I'm guessing 3% versus 7% isn't a significant difference!

haha It could be! There definitely seems to be a point where it doesn't seem to matter for some.
Edited: Oh man, can that be my FFFC? I love it when really bad UTI's come in and I try to time them to see how fast they grow...
I hate those wipes! It always burns when I wipe with them- I must be sensitive to something in them? But I'm paranoid that they will say that I have some weird infection if I don't use them.
Lies I've told my toddler in the last 24 hours: - The iPad doesn't work during dinner - The pool isn't open right now - The store doesn't have popcorn - Starbucks only sells croissants in the morning - This gas station doesn't have goldfish
My doctors' office bathrooms all have signs with instructions on how to use the wipes before giving a urine sample ("clean catch" method), and they specifically say that pregnant women giving routine urine samples don't need to use the clean catch method. So unless you're deliberately going against dr's orders you are all probably truly Flame Free in your Friday Confession.
I just keep adding things to my Target registry so I can do one big order and use my completion discount... No one even knows I have a registry, it's just my own personal shopping list basically! I just added the nursing gown that was recommended in the maternity clothes thread!

@vrj0522 , I really struggle with this too. I don't ever refer to him as president. I guess it's sort of a FFFC that I am not supposed to comment on political stuff at school, but accidentally said, "Well Trump is doing the first thing I'm ok with by adding bees to the endangered list!" in class today.

Chiming in (late) to agree with several posters - the common accepted practice is to check urine for basically EVERYTHING including bacteria/signs of UTI on your first visit. Which is when the wipes are important to get rid of the bacteria on your skin to prevent false results. Routine testing at the OB adter that is just looking for protein and glucose in your urine (signs of pre-e and GD, respectively). Wiping or not wiping won't affect your results on that so these samples are not "clean." So you ladies are absolved of your sin! I always get @swe2 and @SKZW mixed up too.
Maybe my FFFC is that I typically remember/know one or two big things about each of the regs and your lives but I seem to suck with details. I'll remember the detail but no idea who to assign it to in my brain. I.e. I struggle to remember who are FTMs, what some people do for work etc. then I feel like an ass when I say something that makes that fact obvious. I suspect I will have an easier time come Hogwarts because it's easier for me to associate information with faces etc. Also a little worried it's going to be hard to re-associate all our SNs with our names/faces!
I'm one of those people that doesn't fart in front of DH if I can help it, I don't go to the bathroom in front of him, and I don't talk about poop and all that fun stuff... but I bitch about pregnancy discharge all.the.time to him. He knows all about my discharge issues.
(His mom is a nurse and he really doesn't care about bodily functions and whatnot. It's just a boundary I like to keep set, except when it comes to discharge apparently).

I guess my lame FFSC is that I think I'm actually going to be quite bummed when everyone moves to Hogwarts. I don't have an account and don't plan on getting one, but like the community we've built here. Seems like so many of us are on the same page that it'll suck once it's split. Anyways, that's the best I've got this week.
