I've been awake since 7 but I'm still in my pj's and robe watching tv. IDGAF I also watch Let's Make a Deal & The Price Is Right every Friday, and without fail I get teary eyed when people win and when people lose. Happens every single week.
@BabyMC517 - That list is hilarious! I especially love "how do I stop myself from kicking my husband in the neck"...hahaha. While I try to stay away from google, I did just make the mistake of looking up whether I could eat a specific food item from Panera. There are so many uninformed, judgmental women on the internet. I'm not sure what I was expecting.

I think everyone now a days is too overly PC... and I feel like things are blown WAY out of proportion... sometimes you just gotta let some stuff roll off your back. You do not have to get the media involved and get the lynch mob ready every time something/somebody hurts your feelings a bit....
Now, that's not to say there aren't things that deserve the attention, but i would say 75% of things that are blown up are just dumb.
Last night, I was a bit gassy after some tacos and I was perfectly okay with farting (just letting them rip) because SO worked late. At 3AM I woke up to my own loud fart

@kayemjay2 THIS. I googled "should I get an epidural" (dumb mistake) and found a blog that made me want to get one for the sole purpose of pissing off a random, judge-y Internet woman. Good basis for big decisions, right?
I visibly teared up when we watched a video of a baby being born during our childbirth prep class last weekend. But if I'm honest, I was mostly just emotional because I had just looked down at my phone to see that my team had lost in the NCAA tourney.

As I was preparing breakfast this morning, I found a hostess cupcake in the cupboard. We bought cupcakes a few weeks ago and I thought they were all gone but nope, there was one left. I took the wrapper off and ate it in 3 bites just so that I wouldn't have to share with the kids.

I have my gall bladder surgery next week. When I Was discharged last week, they said to try and stick to a low fat diet this week. I took that to mean low fat, high carb and have been fully enjoying sweets all week. I am devouring an M&M brownie right now.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot I"ll have to think of some better examples but this is sticking with me right now. The whole media frenzy over a woman getting fired from cracker barrel... yes it sucks being fired, especially if what she claims is true and there was no explanation give (bur honestly at this point no one really knows why, because its not like her employee can give out these details). However, I don't think it necessarily needs its own hashtag, news time, and thousands of people trolling the cracker barrel Facebook page because of it. It was unfortunate that she was fired, either file a wrongful termination suite against them or move on.... the rest is unnecessary...
I don't feel this is an overly PC one more just a general annoyance with the misuse of media and news sources...
@mcvgal - I think the biggest reason why they say to do that is to prevent gallstone attacks before the date of your surgery but if you are feeling fine, I say go for it! I would!

@BeachMommy2B - did you read the Scary Mommy article on it? Hands down, the best part was the very last picture on it. Chick Fil A has a sense of humor!
My FFFC is that I talked DH into signing up for Weight Watchers (he's gained about 75 lbs over the last two years, and I couldn't handle listening to him complain about his clothes not fitting anymore). My last bit of coaxing to get him to agree to it was to tell him that I was going to do the program with him....I'm not. Not even a little. I just stuffed a bunch of candy in my face. But I eat relatively healthy normally, and I felt like he just needed a little nudge to get going in the right direction, so I lied.
Also, I've spent the last hour designing an invitation for a celebration we're going to have at work in a couple of weeks. My boss is marrying one of our VP's tomorrow, and no one thought to put together a shower beforehand. So I'm throwing together something for the day that they get back, and using work time to plan it. Best employee ever.
@BeachMommy2B are you talking about the whole "Brad's Wife" situation. I thought it was a joke at both Brad's and Cracker Barrel's expense. And now it's gotten completely out of hand. While the posts on CB's Facebook page are hilarious, I actually feel bad for the company here. Granted I don't know why she was fired.
@vrj0522 I feel the same way. DS saw Trump's picture on a magazine we had on our coffee table and asked who he was so I said "that's the president" and I actually felt a little sick saying it out loud to my child. Like, I felt guilt that my kid has to be exposed to the Trump presidency in any way...
@BeachMommy2B Usually when I hear people say that everything is "too PC" lately it's followed by something that is unmistakably offensive in regards to race, sexism or equality, but your example of the Cracker Barrel story leaves me a little confused about what you mean by PC...but I do agree that there are a lot of news stories out that are not by any means newsworthy.
FFFC: I intentionally ordered a bigger food platter when I got takeout last night fully knowing I wouldn't be able to finish it and would have delicious Mexican food leftovers for lunch.
Maybe this is more of an SO rave rather than a FFFC, but on Thursday I was working from home and I was supposed to start the dinner as well as maybe get a few house things done such as putting laundry away. We had explicitly discussed the dinner plan, though. DH had actually put the mind/effort into it and I was just supposed to do some minor work to set things up. Well, I forgot. He made the whole dinner, three courses, while I was at a birthday party with DD. Luckily DS wasn't starving so he was able to eat it a bit later, and DD was getting dinner at the party (also FFFC -- I totally ate at the party AND at home). So...thank you, DH!!
Oh and I did NONE of the house stuff and didn't do the errand I was going to do outside of the house, so not only is that form not sent into the pediatrician, but I also left the car with no gas. Normally I would have been the next to use it, but a friend drove DD and me to the party and I borrowed the in-laws' car to go to work today because DH is taking our car on a trip with his friends this weekend. So even the gas ended up having to be his job. I guess I'm making it up to him because he's ditching me all weekend to do this thing with his friends? Maybe? Either way I felt like kind of a shlump on Thursday! I didn't even get that much work done either.
I almost never use the wipe thingy when I leave a urine sample.
My office specifically says to only use them when told to, which for me was only the first visit. That they don't need a "clean catch" every time. No idea why though!

yea in that instance it really isn't a good example of what I meant. and maybe "too PC" isn't a good wording for what I meant. I know I've heard a story, thought this before, but I really can't come up with a specific reference and I don't want to give a generalized reference for the reason you stated. I am more conservative in my view points, but I'm not OK with racialism, inequality, or sexism by any means. At this point my brain isn't working with me to be able to really back up my first statement...
I keep rolling my eyes at all the people posting odds of having a baby on a given day based on the WTE website. Skeptical stat nerd side of me is like what is there source data and methodology? And most importantly the standard errors on those estimates? Because I'm guessing 3% versus 7% isn't a significant difference!
@mcvgal the night before my gallbladder sugery I had pepperoni pizza and chocolate donuts! For my issues food wasn't a trigger to the attacks. It was when the stones tried to escape anyway I ate just incase I would have issues and not want to eat it again after surgery
I haven't followed the wife/Cracker Barrel controversy, so I can't comment on it. I do side-eye people who either don't care or don't understand cultural appropriation. One of my friends recently dressed herself and her baby girl as female native americans for Halloween. She's caucasian and it was so full of stereotype. I can't decide if she's just ignorant (she's conservative, sheltered, and living in TX - not that those things all go hand-in-hand) or if she didn't care that it might be offensive.

@ChristinaWild FWIW, I loved WW and plan to go back on it as soon as I can after baby is born.
Today is MH's last day off before going back to work and he is going to be gone all day tomorrow doing a Tough Mudder, so today he is running around doing a whole bunch of errands for me. I want to just relax tomorrow, so the more that he can get done today, I don't have to do.

@BeachMommy2B - This isn't directed at you, but in general, I feel like when people complain about how everyone (usually liberals) is overly PC these days....it's usually coming from straight white males or people who just don't want to change their (often bigoted) views. In my head, it's often the same as when older people look back at the "good old days." The past was good for white men, yes. But giving other people rights and recognizing that those rights have been trampled on does not take away from your rights. It's not a pie.

This complaint ALSO comes from liberals, typically the ones of privilege (e.g. whites), levvied at oppressed groups for "overreacting" or "being divisive." If you want to be an ally maybe you should spend some time listening. (Edited: to be clear, "you" = random white/rich liberal person, not anyone in this BMB or any person in particular!)

So the Halloween one is where I would fall on the other side of the fence. I feel that kids should be able to dress how they want for Halloween, they are just pretending to be one of their favorite characters. I don't feel there is racism in a 6 year olds heart...
For example, there was issues with a Moana costume around Halloween time of Chief Tui. I don't understand how a child wanting to wear a bodysuit that was tan with the tattoos and muscles to look like one of their favorite characters should be taken as offensive.
This is probably about the extent of my original comment, when I feel this way it normally comes down to kids.
My pre-maternity-leave work to-do list was out of control and I was able to work completely remotely this past week, so my FFFC is that I 1) shirked all household duties and checked myself completely, selfishly alone (I'll be a FTM so those days are numbered) into a nearby 2) hot springs resort. I spent every day working off and on from 6 am to midnight interrupted by short stints swimming in hot geyser water. I know lots of people would object to pregnant women being in that temperature but I took frequent breaks and avoided getting overheated. I am very much not sorry--it was great exercise for my whale-like proportions these days. (And I knocked out the scariest portions of my to-do list, so this baby won't cause institutional meltdown if she comes early now.)
I sometimes refer to my unborn daughter as "this bitch" when she does something annoying such as kick me in the crotch, push on me to where it hurts or sitting on my bladder. Ex: This Bitch just woke me up again.
@nda_roxybabe@LilMissCrafty umm I must be doing it wrong bc what are these wipes you speak of supposed to be used for? I honestly just noticed some alcohol or something wipe packets at my last visit and didn't think anything of them until now. WHich if I was supposed to do something with them I might be mortified that I'm not.
