Re: March TWW

  • @ShyTonia and @thothscribe81 thank you!! I think after work I'm going to watch my show and read a book. Make something I really like for dinner tonight.

@LoveDontCostAThing I am so happy for you!! Congrats :)

  • Anyone on crinone have it cause you to vomit?  I've been feeling slightly nauseous for two days, then that increased to some dry heaving, and then actual  vomiting a bit ago.  I know the crinone can both cause nausea and increase morning sickness, just curious what others experiences are - if only to keep me occupied while I'm feeling crappy
  • Thank you everyone!!!!

@baseballhoney -I was kind of down/ emotional a few days ago...all this really puts a damper on your mood--between the hormones and natural emotions of it all.  I am still feeling on edge.

@thothscribe81 -the crinone hasn't made me nauseous...I heard that can be a side effect, but hopefully it's a symptom of pregnancy!  The only thing that has made me nauseous is doxy if I don't eat...that made me puke!

  • @LoveDontCostAThing congrats girl!!!! So exciting, I've been thinking about you all day!
  • @thothscribe81oh man, that stinks about the Cronine making you sick to your stomach. Def did not get that side effect from my progesterone (Endometrin) I really hope that subsides.
  • Is anyone on here taking the Endometrin suppositories? I started taking them 2 days after my IUI and side effects mostly have been tiredness, gassy, bloated, sore boobs and irritability. But today I had a headache out of no where's about half way through the day.
I haven't had a headache since my last ganerelix injection which was a couple days before my IUI. So maybe just stress?
  • @Irisheyes81 welcome to your 2WW!!
  • Thanks @ShyTonia and @LoveDontCostAThing :) I'm already over the 2WW and it's been 9 hours.  I'm not taking endometrin supositories.  However, I feel like I need to be. Why did they put you on them??

@LoveDontCostAThing YAY so excited for you! How are you feeling?? Mentally and physically of course

@thothscribe81  Girl! Sorry you're feeling crappy.  That sucks.  Are you feeling better?

  • @Irisheyes81 I can't tell you why exactly my RE put me on them, it was just his approach I guess. This is my very first IUI and I'm still learning so much about how all this works.  :#
  • @shytonia Thanks!  Last night was kinda rough up until around like 9pm, then I felt slightly better and was able to fall asleep after napping on and off from the time I got home from work.  Woke up feeling a bit nauseous but was able to drink a protein drink.  Taste in my mouth is a bit better but back to dry heaving now at work, ugh.  I just keep hoping this is pregnancy and not just the progesterone!  I will happily not feel well for a bit if that means my body is adjusting to a little embryo!!@Shlei

@irisheyes81 welcome to the TWW board!  Doesn't it suck? lol  Hopefully it goes by quick for you!  My doc put me on progesterone after the first week of the TWW because my progesterone level was slightly low (it was 8.4 and they wanted it at 10 or above).  From what I understand the higher the progesterone creates a thicker lining for the embryo to bury into for the first 10 weeks or so when the placenta is forming.  My doctor wasn't super concerned about it but they do it to be on the safe side if its lower than they like.  I believe if I am pregnant I'll stay on the progesterone until towards the end of the first trimester.  Do you go in for bloodwork around 7dpiui?  You may be able to request a progesterone check if they don't automatically schedule you for one (my office does it automatically but I've heard of others that you have to request it).

  • @ShyTonia - Thank you for thinking about me!!!  I think the headache is a good sign.  I got headaches here and there during the TWW, and the one evening I had a headache for a few hours.

@irisheyes81 - Thank you :)  Mentally I am feeling worried/ anxious for my second beta tomorrow.  I had a chemical pregnancy in December, where the beta went down the second time.  This beta is much higher so I am hoping it's good news tomorrow, but so nerve wracking.  Physically my boobs are tender, I still have cramping here/ there, tried on/ off.  I've been feeling like this most of the TWW.  How are you feeling?  Also, I take crinone and oral progesterone.  As far as I know, I don't have any issues where I lack progesterone.  They put me on it as a precaution.  Yesterday my progesterone was 83, which is very high.  They like it high...so I guess that's my they pump me full...lol.

  • @thothscribe81 How are you feeling?  This 2WW is brutal. I can't even deal and it's been less than 24 hours since my IUI.  I was googling how to deal with 2WW and it said join a forum.  HA! Thanks for the info on progesterone.  Last month, I randomly (at my own request) did a blood draw at like 9dpo.  Progesterone was at 12 and so I did a half an HCG trigger shot.  They told me this month to do that again. I am going to request a blood draw again.  I feel like my RE's office is not nearly aggressive enough during the 2ww.

@LoveDontCostAThing How was your beta!? I am so excited to hear. Hope you are doing well.  I wish I had high progesterone.  PCOS= low progesterone and clearly the doctor doesn't even CARE ha.

  • @Irisheyes81 I hope your TWW goes quick!  It is brutal though isn't it??  This second week feels worse than the first!  Though at the moment I'm struggling because of all the symptoms.  Its frustrating not to be able to tell the difference between stuff caused by the crinone and possible pregnancy symptoms!  Its also annoying because I'll feel better for an hour or two and then panic that I'm not feeling anything.  Arrrgh.  Been battling nausea off and on - right now seems to be ok.  It got worse yesterday late afternoon into the evening so we shall see what happens.  Also lots of saliva in my mouth and a slight metallic taste - it was worse yesterday afternoon, a bit better today so far.  My boobs are surprisingly not super sore - they are tender a bit but not like period achy.  I dont know if thats a good or a bad sign!  Its good that your RE office tests you if you ask.  Hopefully the numbers are good and if not they put you on something to help boost it!!!

Still trying to hold off until my beta on Monday before testing.  Every time I have the urge to test I remember that I made a deal with DF not to test until after bloodwork!
  • thothscribe81 No vomiting here yet, but I'm dealing with a very unsettled tummy today. My cramping has pretty much stopped at least. Not sure if that's good or bad.

I'm only at day 5 of my TWW though. It sounds like you're in your second week? Hoping it's not just the progesterone causing your discomfort! Fingers crossed for you!

  • @katherind today has been a little better - still have that taste in my mouth but the nausea has been better, just kind of off and on.  It got bad late afternoon yesterday though so we shall see!  At least I was able to eat lunch!  I'm so so so hoping the symptoms are pregnancy related and not just crinone messing with my system!  I am 9dpiui   so only a few more days before my beta Monday morning.  If I can make it through this week at work hopefully the weekend will go by quicker!  Waiting on the results all day Monday is going to be torture though!!!!

I hope your tummy settles a bit and that you get some happy news in another 10 days or so!!!!!!
  • @LoveDontCostAThing hey there! Hope your day is going well  :) I'm home now resting for the rest of the day. Headache is still lingering but I finally just ate lunch so I feel better now. I had to stop at cvs to pick up my folic acid and had to run out of there quickly so I wouldn't buy a test! Hehe two more day to test!  :D
  • @thothscribe81 glad to hear you are feeling alittle better today  <3 you can do it!!! I told DH this morning that I may test early and he said don't do it! The dr said 2 weeks for a reason lol. So now I have his voice in my head helping me to wait. I stopped at the grocery store earlier and almost caved but then ran into like 3 people that totally would have said something if I had the test in my cart! Lol. And then I stopped at the pharmacy and got in and out of there. Now I'm home for the rest of the day. So safe to say I can make it one more day!
  • @ShyTonia  I made a deal with my DF that I would wait for my blood test!  Every time I think about testing I think of him and take a deep breath and wait lol
  • @thothscribe81 That's a good deal you made the deal with DF and it's too soon on those HPTs.  I refuse to use an HPT.  They have said no to me too many times.  I despise them. I'd rather just wait for AF or a beta.  Just me though.  It's just too much uncertainty. I can't believe you're only 9dpo.  I feel like you've been waiting for three months. Sorry you feel sick.  Metformin gives me that weird taste in my mouth too. Nasty! Good thing you had some lunch.

  • @irisheyes81 yeah I feel like the hpt are just to unreliable if I'm going in for a blood test anyway.  I get the urge to test but then remind myself even if its positive I'm  going to wonder if its the hcg left from the trigger, and if its negative its going to make me upset and wonder if its just to early for a positive.  I might as well just wait until the beta and find out for sure!!!  I will admit the urge is definitely there though.  lol if I get a positive beta I think the first thing I'm going to do is pee on a stick to see those lines!!!  It feels like its been 3 months for me too!  Monday can't come fast enough!!
  • Have any of you had beta results while you are at work? I worry about that. I don't want to cry at work. Although *TW* I didn't cry when I found out I was miscarrying. I was more shell shocked. *End TW*

My clinic requires a BFP HPT before you can go in for a beta.

  • @JaeJayStark my REs last words were to take a HPT in two weeks and to come in immediately if I test positive, don't even call, nothing. Lol so his office opens at 630-7 am so when I get my BFP on Friday morning I will be up there 7 am sharp with my bells and whistles on  B)
  • @thothscribe81 -your symptoms sound promising...especially the metallic taste.  I haven't had that, but read that's a symptom.  I take crinone too so it does suck not being able to differentiate for sure.  I've never heard of progesterone giving a metallic taste, though...have you?

The TWW sucks, and so does this beta wait lol.  It's all so difficult.  I am feeling tired.  My second beta is tomorrow, and I guess my nerves come in because between my first and second beta last time it turned to chemical pregnancy.  This beta is much higher than last time, thankfully.  I am so happy that all of you were talking about HPTs because I was planning to take one tomorrow morning before my beta to make sure the line is still there and darker, but I am thinking I just shouldn't.  It feeds into my anxiety.  What do you all think?  At what point would you stop taking HPTs?

  • @LoveDontCostAThing I would stop taking HPTs now. THe HCG in your system will be there even if you have a CP. If it drops, it will just be a bit lower and you can't really detect that on a HPT. It will just make you nuts.

*TW* - when I had my MC, My HCG was super high still and would take a long time to zero out similar to how you have to wait for your trigger to be out of your system. *End TW*

I have such a good feeling for you! Sending lots of good thoughts!

@LoveDontCostAThing I agree that I'd stop with the hpt - as @JaeJayStark said you probably won't see a significant enough difference to tell anything and it will probably just increase your anxiety which you don't want right now more than ever!  Take some deep breaths and try and distract yourself (I know easier said than done!!).  Do you have to work while waiting for your second beta results today?  If not maybe take some time to go do something for you, like visit a bookstore or go see a movie :-)  sending good vibes for a double of that first awesome number!

  • @sonebone welcome to the TWW!  I know what you mean - I second guess everything - I carried a case of soda and grocery bag in the house on sunday and was like omg did I lift to heavy?  lol
  • @LoveDontCostAThing I forgot to mention that I've read about the metallic  taste and it does seem promising!  Its the one symptom I've noticed isn't tied directly to progesterone so I'm hopeful!  The only thing that has me down is my boobs aren't really sore yet!  They are tender, which I'm assuming is from the progesterone, but I expected them to but hurting by 10dpiui - still hopeful but worried thats not a good sign!
  • @LoveDontCostAThing good luck to you today!! Hope you were able to hold off on the HPT and also hope your beta doubled!!
  • @thothscribe81 I worry too...I carried a  20lb bag of flour yesterday and I thought I really shouldn't be doing this!!
