I'm glad to see that baby grew, but I'm so sorry for the news about the heart. I hope you get answers soon! Still keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers.
@SpongeWorthy I'm so sorry you're going through this. I'm so glad to hear the baby is growing and you truly don't deserve such stress. You're in my T&P and FX for continued good news with your dear LO.
It's wonderful that baby grew. You, your husband and baby are in my thoughts and prayers every day. Sending you positivity and hoping you get good news from the echo. (((Hugs)))
@SpongeWorthy I've been off the board for a couple of weeks and it's so great to come back and see the prognosis is good for your little one! I work in cardiovascular medicine and we follow adult congenital heart patients - that means I see people every day in their 20s, 40s, 60s and beyond who had surgeries decades ago like the one your little one may face and have gone on to live normal, healthy lives! Plus the surgical techniques have only gotten better and more refined since then! So many hugs to you
TTC #1: Mirena removed 5/26/2015; DH - normal SA, me - diagnosed with PCOS 8/4/2016 - on Metformin; BFP - 10/29/2016!!!, EDD - 7/8/2017; DD born 6/29/2017
Happy to hear that baby is continuing to grow consistently and that heart issues are all operable. Still scary I'm sure though. Sending good vibes your way.
Glad there is good news! Baby and your family will continue to be in my thoughts Also just for support, stories, experiences, etc.. my cousin founded a CHD awareness organization called WearRedOrGoNaked, it's all over fb if you have one, check it out. My cousin and his wife do amazing things for their daughter and other chd warriors.
I'm glad that your baby continues to grow and you are slowly getting some answers. I was previously a nurse in a cardiac ICU and I can tell you, cardiac kids are warriors! Not only that, but the advances they have made in surgical techniques are miraculous. I will continue to pray for you and your little one!
TBH, I'm feeling conflicted. If the IUGR is caused by a genetic defect, the pregnancy will probably be okay but it means we are dealing with permanent problems throughout our child's life, and there's a possibility it's hereditary and will affect future children. If the IUGR is caused by a placental problem, the likelihood of early delivery, stillbirth, and preeclampsia is higher, but the long term prognosis is probably better. Also if the baby is premature, we may run into problems with doing the heart surgery because the baby will be too small. Obviously neither is a "good" outcome, but I'm not sure what to hope for at this point.

Dear @SpongeWorthy, your update made me so happy!!! Of course it's scary to think of all the surgeries ahead, but I am just so happy to hear that baby is growing and that there are no genetic abnormalities as far as the doctors can tell, and most importantly that the heart defect can be repaired (is it like a pulmonary atresia with VSD? I'm no expert on the topic but they definitely have a very well established surgical approach to this spectrum of heart defects).
continued hugs and good thoughts to you, baby and family!
@SpongeWorthy I can understand how you feel. At this point no situation is perfect and I'm sorry that you even have to face this entire situation. My hope for you is for the best possible outcome, one that gives your baby the best chance for a healthy future. It seems to me that if there is a placental problem there's still a chance it is functioning enough to sustain the baby throughout the pregnancy and you could get close to term. But I know regardless it's hard to have to think of all the possibilities until the baby is born and you can finally know for real what you are facing.
I know it's not the same but when I found out our baby might have a ring around her trachea and esophagus because of her right sided aorta, one thing that helped me was feeling like there was a plan in place for every scenario, that I knew how things would unfold in both the best and worst case scenarios (including transfer to a more specialized hospital if required). I'm sure you and your H are doing tons of research, and I hope all the specialists are available to you to answer all your questions and help you come up with the best plan of action for each possibility.
You all remain in my prayers, feel free to vent (or not vent) to us at any time!

I'm so glad to hear that the prognosis is good. It sounds like they have a good sense of what to do in terms of surgeries. I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts and hoping for the best possible outcomes for you all.
