37 week appointment today with the NP since doc is out of town. I also have a sono to confirm the position of the baby. I may decline a check this week because he isn't here and the one from last week seemed to give me some intense contractions shortly after. Also, I'm pretty sure I lost part of my mucus plug after the check, so I'd rather just wait another week until he's back in town. That, and I have a TON of work to finish up before I go.
Also, GBS negative this time around. I was positive with DS, so I was expecting it again. It's so crazy to me how different this pregnancy has been!
@HGRich your first ever professional massage?! Hopefully is amazing. I just had one and it was wonderful! Prenatal massages should be covered by insurance lol
Mine are, at least technically they are since I do them through my chiropractor's office. If it isn't fully covered, at least it goes toward my deductible!
My doctor said the same as @BabyBlake042017 re: 37 weeks being full term. Basically if you go into labor after 37 they wouldn't consider it preterm labor and try to stop it - but they won't do inductions or scheduled c-sections until 39 weeks per hospital policy.
Just got back from a sick appointment...I have officially contracted DS's sinus infection and it's given me the WORST cough in recent memory. I was up all night hacking up a lung (and constantly peeing myself...pregnancy is so glamorous!) Got a script for an antibiotic if it doesn't start to clear up in a few days (DS's infection was viral, so mine probably is too) and got the go ahead from my OB to take some cough medicine and an antihistamine to get some relief. Bah.
I went in because I was worried that I had the flu (it's been going around my school and the family), so I wanted to definitely rule that out. At least it's not as bad as it could be!
Ultrasound and appointment this morning - all is going well!! Little lady is measuring 7 lbs 7 oz at 37 weeks - I am trying not to let that stress me out so much since there's been so much talk about late ultrasounds being waaaay off on measurements. She's head down and facing the right. Her face looks so squished in there but soooo sweet Next appointment one week from today!
@SnarkasaurusRex Hope you start feeling better soon! Coming from someone who suffered from a sinus infection for a month before going to the doctor (yes, I enjoy torturing myself), once I got the antibiotics in me, I was feeling SOOOO much better.
Just left my weekly ob. DH has a job interview 5 hours away that we are leaving for tomorrow, so I decided to get checked and see how things were going/see if he thought it was okay I went along. Two weeks ago I was between 1-2 cm dilated, 50% thinned, and at -2 station. Today is was 2cm, 80% thinned and at 0 station. He sent me with records in case something happens while we are out of town tomorrow night. Says he doesn't think I'll go over my due date, told me who was on call this weekend, and told me to watch to see if the cat was acting funny- "they can just tell".
Yikes! Not getting my hopes up because I know the checks don't necessarily mean anything, but all that info just made me panic.
Met with pediatrician today, had ultrasound, and saw my OB. The pediatrician was really nice. I think we'll go with her. The ultrasound went well but baby was uncooperative (hand in front of her face) and we didn't get any pictures or a good 3-d shot. She weighs approx 6.5 lbs and is in the 30th percentile. The doctor still thinks a 7 lb baby at term. OB was good too--found out my hospital does intermittent monitoring unless there's a problem and I get to stay two nights, which I'm planning on doing. I declined a cervical check. I scheduled my next appointment for Monday the 27 since my doctor is on CME next week--that could be my last one!

Just got back from my u/s and 37 wk appt. I was debating on whether or not to get checked, but I've felt a lot of changes this past week and was curious to know if I've progressed. I've got from nothing to 1cm and 50% effaced, which is more than I ever did at 39w5d with DS. Apparently they forgot to give me my Tdap shot at the 36wk appt, so I got that today, too.
Baby is head down, measuring on track, and they guess is about 6.5 lbs, give or take a pound. I'm just thankful there isn't any talk of induction this time around.
Had my 34 week appointment today. Nothing new - baby's heart sounded good, and everything else seemed fine. Next appointment is the last time I'll go two weeks in between.
I did find out my midwives offer a "sibling party" where they make t-shirts and play games so I'm excited for DD to get to do that! AND I found out that a prenatal massage is part of my package so I booked that for the week I'm due

Appointment this morning went just fine and nothing new to report. My ob is gone for spring break M,T,W so baby better stay put til at least Thursday next week. I'm really not expecting her to come this early though so I'm sure i'll be fine. Next appointment is next Friday at 38+2.
DD's sibling class at the hospital was last night. Not sure how much exactly she took in, but she has been talking a lot today about seeing "Baby Sister." There was supposed to be a tour after the class, but it wasn't a full tour (despite the fact that I called a month or two ago to check and was told that yes, it's a normal, full tour afterwards ), so we're doing that next week.
Routine appt and nst yesterday at 35w3d. measuring right at 35 wks. Gbs test swabbed. She didn't offer to check me and I'm glad bc sometimes I cave out of curiosity even though I know checks are pointless.
Had my 37wk (at 37+2)check up today. BP was back to being somewhat high. They don't seem worried. It's making me insanely anxious though. I gave in and asked for them to check if I was dilated at all since my anxiety makes me feel the need to know everything possible. Zero dilation but 50% effaced.
Prenatal massage today. Oh my word it was fantastic. I feel great. And I was not at all uncomfortable with being mostly naked. Lol. Lucy fell asleep halfway through too--must be those endorphins I was giving her. So grateful to DH for the Valentine's Day gift. I made myself focus and keep my mind relaxed, so I kept thinking about holding my baby girl in my arms and rocking her and nursing her. It was a relaxing mindset.
Had my regular 37 checkup on Thursday. Measuring right where I should be and heartbeat was great.
Ended up getting a NST done. I mentioned the baby didn't move much one day this week and they wanted to check up on her. She's really not much of a mover in general. I almost failed the damn thing - she barely reacts to anything... tried juice, candy, switching positions, giggling belly, even the vibration tazer like thing - and nothing! She finally moved twice at the end to pass the damn thing, thank goodness. Very stubborn and a sleepy girl!
At at this appointment I also found out that baby girl is breech, of course! Dr scheduled an EVC for next Tuesday (only appt they had) to attempt to move the baby. And they also scheduled a c section for April 3. I am really hoping she moves soon, so I can go for a natural birth!
I have been doing exercises to help. Went to a chiropractor yesterday for the first time ever to see if the Webster method would help encourage baby to move on her own. It was a great experience and she realigned my pelvis (sacrum was out of alignment). Even if she doesn't move, going to the chiropractor apparently will make for an easier EVC and if she does move after, it can help shorten labor. Who knew!?
Going for a prenatal massage today, that I scheduled merely for my last relaxation time by myself before the baby comes. Now, I'm hoping it will also to encourage the baby to move.
Been a whirlwind few days trying to process that I may be having a baby (via c section) on April 3 ... that's only 2 weeks away!! For some reason I thought I had a little more time (although I am at 37 and she can come anytime).
