Fully in maternity pants this week. With my son I didn't switch until well into 2nd tri. Awkward trying to get a picture of this, but there's more than bloat happening already this time. Crazy.
Lol no! It's not a bump! You look adorable but girlfriend that is bloat. 3rd pregnancy here as well, but your ute is still behind your pubic bone until 12 weeks.
@heatherdubrow - Totally possible! Usually bloat for me comes and goes a bit and isn't super firm to touch. I can still squidge it a bit, lol. It's been like this for about 3 days and firm and I haven't had any bowel issues. Different experience for me regardless this time and this is my sixth pregnancy to get this far.
I'll spare y'all my bump. I'm a bit overweight as it is and I look 6 months pregnant with the bloat. It's disheartening that my stomach is already out past my boobs.
@av2323 Same here as well. Overweight, second pregnancy and stomach sticks out past boobs when bloated. I'm about 5lbs heavier than I was the first time but my bloat makes me look like I did at 16 weeks.
@Kater-cole Exactly! I actually weight a bit less than I did when getting pregnant with DS but it is situated a lot different now. I never carried a ton of weight in my belly but I certainly do now.
No bump yet (although the exercise ball behind me kind of gives me one hahaha), there is some bloat mostly hidden by the sweater. The pair of pants I have on are the only dress pants that feel comfy right now due to bloat. Don't mind the background, went to the gym at lunch. Sorry if photo is huge...on mobile.
*lurking* My little sister also thought she had a bump(more than bloat) at 4 weeks pregnant because her stomach was hard. She posted annoying bump pics everyday in social media too. Anyway, she went to her first appointment at 5 or 6 weeks and her doctor looked at her like she was crazy and told her it was just constipation. Yes, her baby bump was literally her own shit. I just thought I would leave this here in case any of you think it's a legit bump at this stage.
@erinh84 Hahaha! I love it! I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when that news as delivered.
I was there. I took my sister to her first appointment. She was so excited to show her doctor how "big" her bump was this early. She looked devastated that it wasn't a real bump and I was trying my hardest not to laugh. I tried to tell her several times that it was probably just bloat. Needless to say, she went home and deleted all of her "bump" pics and didn't post another one until she was well over 16 weeks.

Is it bad that I'm kind of hoping for a little break between bloat and the real bump? I kind of hate the attention you get when you're showing..wouldn't mind putting it off for a few extra weeks lol.
I'm with you, @ArtificialRed! I actually love showing, but I'm going to be interviewing for a new job in my company in June and would love to not be obviously pregnant during the interview process. I have a shot, right? To be 16 weeks pregnant and not showing as a 3rd time mom? (yea, right.)
I am fat + super bloated so I will just share with you all later on when it looks like a thing. I got asked all the time about my pregnancy anyways, even when I wasn't, so at least now I'll actually be pregnant! I guess that's the suck of being fat and carrying it in your tummy. Plus, it seems to be a problem with molar ladies to completely lose the bump. Even the fittest molar moms I've seen still just have a bump there that they can't get rid of no matter what. Kind of odd...
No bump yet, but so much bloat! At 7 weeks I've officially retired my non maternity jeans. I wore them to a baseball game today and spent the whole day angry at how tight they were.
I remember being so disappointed during my first pregnancy because I wasn't showing and for the longest time I had people at work not believe I was pregnant. Then week 24 hit and I was huge and sore and couldn't sit comfortably.
As much as I would love the cute baby bump right now (I did hear it is common to show sooner with each subsequent pregnancy) I will enjoy my bloat a little longer.
I am super fascinated by the bump vs. bloat thing. My first time on TB girls would get roasted for claiming they had a bump before 12 weeks, and I've seen the charts that show your uterus is allegedly still behind your pelvic bone until 12 weeks but I wonder if that's true for everyone? I usually don't look pregnant until after 30ish weeks but my SIL has what looks like a real baby bump starting very early on. Obviously it's not the baby when the baby is the size of a tiny berry, but it doesn't look or feel like bloat. I wonder if for some women STM+ their body is like "I know how to do this already!" and jumps ahead with the uterus stretching?
I'm also a carry-weight-in-my-top-only person, so right now I look like I normally do plus maybe some extra gluten. Haha. I wear a lot of unstructured layers, so I could probably get away with hiding for awhile. Everyone's lil bloat bumps look great to me.
I get what you're saying @TallMomma29. I do think that stm+ moms show sooner, but I still think it's closer to the end of 1st tri than we all are now. With my first, I didn't show until 25ish weeks. (I mean, I could tell, but no one else could before then.) With my second, it was around 16 weeks when someone other than me could tell. I expect it to be even earlier this time, but probably closer to 12 weeks. Even though my uterus is already nice and stretched and my muscles remember what to do, I don't see a real bump happening until then.
Gonna leave this here. I learned about the poop / constipation last time and won't post until it's real! FWIW, blump that gets people excited is fine by me! It's fun for FTMs to get an idea of what the real thing will feel like later.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
OMG everything just moves out of the way! Let me be clear, I've taken a lot of bio and anatomy classes so I understand the human body somewhat. But that is going out the door for me with pregnancy. Obviously other organs have to shift around but I never think of it like that! I'm always just like, oh yes there is this nice space right here for my future baby. Thanks for the post @NYTino24, it's really helpful!
It feels so weird for me this time. I don't have constipation issues right now - not to get too gross but I've had issues with that before during pregnancy to the point of having to go the suppository route(under doctor guidance) and things are...shall we say...regular right now. It doesn't feel like bloat has ever felt in any previous pregnancies, including this one. So I concede that it could be either one of those, but it doesn't feel like either has before and this is my 6th time to hit the 6 week mark. FWIW, this is a mom from one of my previous BMBs and her side-by-side pics with her 3rd. (I know she posted this on TB, but I couldn't find it on our Jan14 board because it's a very old post there). When we were on a BMB together she was pregnant with her 4th and there are pictures of that too on the blog but it doesn't go all the way to what her belly looked like without a baby at the end. This is very similar to me this time in terms of a 6 week vs. my typical after-pregnancy-belly.
I get that everyone is different, yada yada yada, but it is physically and scientifically impossible for your 'bump' to be uterus and baby at this point. Completely impossible.
Okay, well, I'm not pushing anything out for sure and I conceded immediately after heatherdubrow's first response. I have said several times that it could very well be bloat, never that it definitely wasn't. It could very well be the way my body is handling those things this time. I'm not new to this process - I know what my uterus is doing - and I'm not trying to start anything at all here, just talk about this experience compared to my previous ones. It's anxiety-inducing for me right now because I can't hide it. I can't suck it in or squish it into pants and it's definitely not something I want to share or get questions about at 6 weeks. It's just different and new for me this time around to look like this at 6 weeks and for it to feel this way.
@kschref I wasn't trying to make you feel attacked and I apologize if you felt that way. Just trying to reaffirm fact. I love having a bump, it's amazing, it's just too early right now.
Re: HDBD | March 15
No bump for me yet, shocker at not even 5w. My pants still fit fine until I eat, then I have to unbutton them, luckily I'm wearing a long sweater
3rd pregnancy here as well, but your ute is still behind your pubic bone until 12 weeks.
