Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Meeting the midwife today. Hopefully we can hear the heartbeat, I'll ask if we can do a quick ultrasound, just want to see my little nugget!
Cravings? Again, just more food, and really into sweets! . Rants/raves? Just really want the bump to come and for me to feel the baby!
Questions for FTM, STM+? For STM, did anyone get any hair treatments done? My doctor okay'd anything in the second trimester.
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I make really good guacamole. I load it up with garlic and onions, soooo good!!!!!!1
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Still patiently waiting for my A/S on the 24th. Used our home doppler a few times - it's cool to hear her kicking away in there! Still haven't felt anything though.
Cravings? Craving carbs, but trying to stay good and not go crazy with the snacking. DH and I have meal planned the past few weeks and actually stuck to it! I found we cut down our grocery bill a bit by going in with a specific list of stuff to buy instead of throwing random items into the cart.
Rants/raves? Rant - SNOW. That's all. We almost removed our stakes in the driveway for the plow a few weeks ago. Thankfully I got lazy and left them in. Rave - our crib arrived and it's beautiful!! And I didn't spend a fortune like I originally was thinking (thank you @bumpybump for talking me out of dropping $1000 on a crib from RH).
Questions for FTM, STM+? For working STM+ - How long up until your due date did you end up working? FTM join in too with your plans! I luckily have the opportunity to work from home, so I'm thinking I'll try to last up until the birth but maybe work from home the week of my due date. Is that crazy?
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? Ohhh this is a hard one. I love my french onion soup - the "long" version where you let the onions simmer in red wine and beef broth for an hour+. So worth the wait. Plus, gooey cheese over toasted bread...drooling just thinking about it.
Edited to correct from 17 weeks to 18...time is flying.
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? appointment friday got pushed to today. We shall see, but just a regular appointment.
Cravings? Still not loving animal protein
Rants/raves? Posted in Monday ticker change my rave about getting all of the things I've been thinking of getting for our apartment over the past couple of years and love the sense of accomplishment and feeling like I'm able to focus on getting ready for baby!
Questions for FTM, STM+? I'll check the gear thread again for more in depth although I don't recall seeing this: is a glider/rocking chair necessary? I have one on our registry and a spot picked out for it. I'm trying to figure out if we should buy it ourselves if no one gets it for us.
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? This is a tough one for me. There's a tarragon mustard chicken I really enjoy that I'll pull out for special(er) occasions but I love to cook and don't really make the same thing the same way twice.
Rants/raves? I'm tired of being tired. I've actually experienced being too tired to stand just in lines or something. I'm not doing anything, nothing hurts... just.... tried.
Questions for FTM, STM+? Nope!
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I make reservations.
@kvh22 I remember reading a lot of positive feedback on the glider in the baby gear thread. I imagine you'll want somewhere comfortable to sit for late night feedings, reading books, rocking to sleep, whatever. I say go for it!
@jacksonbears I know for FTM's feeling can come pretty late. I have been feeling baby for a solid week or so, and on saturday night, I felt a distinct kick, but DH couldnt feel it. You should be feeling it any time now. One thing that my books said, was eating a large meal, or drinking something really cold, and then laying down can make them move a bit more. Might be something to try if you want.
@secicc12 I am currently talking with my work to decide what will be best. I am hoping to go right up to due date, to save on vacation and maternity leave for when baby is here.
@kvh22 I know its in the baby gear/ or the ftm good to know thread, but everyone who I have talked with said they were totally worth it, for late night feedings, bed time stories, and basically any time you spend in the nursery or where ever you put it. My inlaws bought one for me, and its coming this week. I plan to use it all the time for nursing/pumping, especially when people are over.
How far along are you? 18+6 or 19 tomorrow!
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? I have my AS on Friday!
Cravings? nothing new. I want all things sweet!
Rants/raves? We are supposed to get 12+ inches of snow tomorrow and two weeks ago it was 70. WTH weather. I just want to be warm when I go outside.
Questions for FTM, STM+? The room we are using for the nursery has a very large closet, and I have no idea what to do with it for baby. We are planning on using a dresser for the changing table (securing it appropriately), and the crib we are getting has drawers in the bottom for storage. I just dont have a clue what to do with the closet. Do we use it for toy storage, add more shelving, a second dresser? Any suggestions on what might be more practical would be awesome.
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I dont cook! But I bake a lot. I think my cookies and cakes are the best. My Favorite cake is my lemon cake with lemon curd filling, and fresh strawberry frosting. My best cookie is my Hot Chocolate cookie for christmas. You literally heat it up in the microwave, and the center melts and there is a marshmallow on top, so its just like hot chocolate.

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
As for plans for time off before delivery - I'm planning to go right up to the day I go into labor. My mom did that with all 3 of her kids. I know people who took time before and said they got so bored. Our company just implemented a new policy with 18 weeks full pay (which is amazing and I am so grateful) and the 2 weeks before counts towards this if you take it, so I want to save it for once baby is here.
There are some rules around if/why you can do this, but in California, you can take up to 2 weeks before your due date to prepare for the delivery (I believe it might be scheduled only? I'm a bit fuzzy) and this didn't count towards your post-delivery leave. It was at a reduced rate (55% I believe) like the 12 weeks of paid maternity leave between FMLA and long term disability. As mentioned, my company now will let you take this at full pay but it counts towards your 18 weeks so I'm planning to save mine for after. I'd discuss with your HR rep. Some people I know (before our policy change) took it to prep for baby and to relax and did enjoy it. I think I would be bored anyways but everyone's different. Especially if it's use-it-or-lose-it, like it is for certain situations in California, I'd say there's more to look into for pros/cons.
@secicc12 I plan on working pretty much up to my due date. I teach and tutor college math and summers are usually slower, so I think it should work out well. I only plan on tutoring in the summer, so it should be a lighter summer anyway. At the very least I hope to work till the middle of July.
@kvh22 Wow you get 18 weeks, thats amazing! I dont blame you one bit for wanting to have all of that for after baby comes!
For my leave I get 12 weeks fully paid, and I really hope that I can work right up until delivery as well. I want all that time to snuggle this baby, and I dont want to spend it just sitting around waiting. I just contacted the person in HR that should be able to tell me more and I can update once I know more.

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Prenatal appt last week went well. Anatomy Scan and Gender Scan next week! Can't wait!
Cravings? Chocolate Milk and fruit
Rants/raves? Rants - The usual constipation. Rave - I think I felt the baby Saturday and again today!!
Questions for FTM, STM+? same as @secicc12 - I'm trying to set a "goal" to work until the week before my due date, my job is a desk job really, but so many STM think I should plan even just a week earlier...I just think I'll go stir crazy but I also have an almost hour commute each day X2 for work...guess I'll have to wait and see. By mid-July I plan to have most daily duties passed off and working on a project that if it doesn't get done before I go off it's no big deal.
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? Turkey Chili or Irish Car Bomb Cupcakes - they are amazing but expensive (booze to buy!) and from scratch so they take forever and I end up half in the bag on a sugar high - a lot of testing is needed to get it right hehe.

Rants/raves?
Questions for FTM, STM+? At your anatomy scan, do you find anything out right away? I know there won't be an OB in the room for ours, but I feel like I'll want to know! Also asking @Kathryn0903 since you had yours today! GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? Gah! That's hard, I love to cook. Maybe risotto? It's a dish that requires a lot of love and wine so probably that!
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? N/A
Cravings? I made a joke that I don't really have much of a sweet tooth this pregnancy but I do have an out of control beef tooth. Anything from a cow I want real bad.
Rants/raves? I haven't been sleeping well and I think it's been feeding into my current crappy mood. I'm just annoyed by everything that normally I'm really good at handling. (Like my MIL)
Questions for FTM, STM+? To follow up on @secicc12 question about working. I plan to work until I go into labor or my due date, whichever comes first since I usually work from home and that means I don't have to worry about looking presentable when I'm uber pregnant. I also don't really have the time to take away from my maternity leave.
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? Mac and cheese. It's my ultimate comfort food and I've been messing around with making it perfect for decades.
Together: January 2002 Married: May 2008 Baby: August 2017
Clearly we like to rush along at lightning speed...
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? We have our monthly checkup next Monday and then our A/S on the 6th of April!!
Cravings? All of the sweets. Mostly doughnuts, ice cream, cookies, etc. The only healthy thing I crave is this one salad at panera lol.
Rants/raves? Rant - No rants...at least not yet this week. Rave - I think I'm finally starting to feel the baby move around in there, but it's not at all how I imagined that it would feel. It's almost as if someone has a straw and is blowing a bunch of bubbles in my belly. Is that a normal feeling in the beginning? Either way, I'm pretty excited!!
Questions for FTM, STM+? @secicc12 I'm planning to work right up till my due date. Towards the very end, I'll likely be working from home since I have such a long commute. But I want to try and keep my 12 weeks until after the baby arrives so that I get the max amount of time with them. Also, do you mind mentioning which crib you purchased? I'm going back and forth between a million options right now, and it's always good to have an opinion from someone who just bought!
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I make a pretty awesome pasta dish with homemade cream sauce. It's my DH's favorite and I must admit that it's mine too. I also make a pretty mean cinnamon roll from scratch. I'll eat the whole pan though so I try not to do that too often.
@mrsmatt1212 I risotto! What kind is your specialty?
How far along are you? 17+2 Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Had a HB check last Monday, it went great! 150 BPM, such an amazing sound Cravings? I wouldn't call it a craving per se, but I could eat Special K with red berries all day. I figure there are worse things to indulge in. Rants/raves? Rave: Next week is my anatomy scan! Staying team Green but I can't wait to see him/her Rant: My skin! Help meeeee ladies! It's super dry and splotchy red. I have a tough of rosacea which I used topical Flagyl for, but now it's just getting so dry! Anyone else have this and can recommend a solid moisturizer that will help? I look awful. Questions for FTM, STM? See rant ^ GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I'm more of a baker, to be honest. The cinnamon rolls I make (pioneer woman recipe) are a frequent request. I make really good chili though!
@mrsmatt1212 - I'm 17 weeks and still don't have my A/S scheduled either. Hoping I'll get it scheduled today at my appointment.
@WineAndDogs - I'm team green, too! My skin is driving me nuts but more acne related than what you're describing so I'm not sure my moisturizer recommendation is applicable. Just wanted you to know you weren't alone with skin issues, though!
@secicc12 I had a scheduled c section at 39+2. DS was born on a Monday and I worked until the Friday before. My sister had inductions with both, but worked till the day before her daughter was born and her son was born on a Sunday, so she worked till that Friday and actually went in Saturday to do some filing. I would say to work until the last minute unless your doctor advises otherwise. I would have been going nuts just waiting. Plus, you'll want the time with baby.
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Tomorrow= Echo for me, then next tues= the 20weeks US. We know gender, but can't wait to see how big she is!!
Cravings? Still salty/cheesy stuff and some sweet. Seriously this kid loves her nachos and cheese fries!
Rants/raves? Still haven't felt anything :-( Hoping she moves at the US and I can put a feeling to the visual.
Questions for FTM, STM+? Did you ever get weird foot feeling? middle of Target yesterday my foot felt sharp tingle, like it had fallen asleep but in the middle of us walking around.
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I make an excellent baked mac & cheese. My best friends mom went to culinary school and it is her recipe. I'm learning to do her brisket-it is out of this world.
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
@secicc12 I worked until the day I was induced. I was induced in the evening so DH and I took the day off and had lunch and just relaxed before adding a new family member. Our OB actually recommended we go to a movie because we probably wouldn't for a long time after. Glad you found a crib you love that was reasonable.
@kvh22 I love our swivel glider in the nursery. We had DD in her crib from day one so that's where ever night time nursing session occurred, rocking her back to sleep when needed (still sometimes needed although rare), bedtime stories, etc. Very worth it to me. If I didn't have that in there, I'd have been nursing her uncomfortably on the floor. Know it will probably get dirty with breast milk/formula or spit up. So get one that can be cleaned. We bought ours, never used, off Craigslist for like $30.
@littlebug2010 we have walk-in closets in both upstairs bedrooms. One of them is massive and the other is normal sized. The normal sized one is the one in the nursery. I decided to hang a lot of the clothes instead of folding it all (I find it easier). We also filled one of the dressers with cloth diapers, blankets, and pajamas so not room in that dresser (we have a second dresser). Along with all the clothes hanging, we have boxes of pull-ups, shoes, and blankets in there. The massive closet is totally storage right now. Boxes of baby clothes waiting for the arrival of this LO, highchair, infant car seat, walker, bouncer, etc. If you need a place for storage that's baby related, your closet sounds like a good place.

@WineAndDogs I love Pioneer Woman! I'm sure her cinnamon rolls are to die for. Did you see she had a line of dishes/bake ware come out? I can't remember if it's at Target or Walmart.
On the topic of working up until the baby is born. Were any STMs worried about going into labor AT work? I'd be so embarrassed if my water broke at work (clean up in aisle 3!), then I'd have to go find a cab. I imagine those of you who drive to work would have to drive yourself to the hospital while in labor. And then you don't have your hospital bag (I guess your significant other can go grab it for you?).
Logistically, really, how did that work? Or do most moms just end up in labor at night by sheer coincidence? I know one woman who did start labor here at the office and she did take a cab to the hospital; a coworker went with her to ensure she got there and checked in safely.
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? I had an urgent appt last week for severe cramping/ spotting. The cramping ended up being round ligament pain. Wow was that bad! The spotting was unrelated but in my mind they were related. It scared the living hell out of me but all is well!
Cravings? Not really. My need for fruit and veggies all the time has relaxed a little bit. DH is happy that I want normal take out food like wings and pizza. Lol
Rants/raves? I live in Western PA and this Winter Storm Stella is going to be a nightmare. Praying that we don't get as much snow as they are expecting
Questions for FTM, STM+? How much stuff did you have to buy for your newborn after you got home from the hospital? Were there any purchases that you wish you would have made before birth?
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I don't really cook but I do make a cauliflower based enchilada casserole that is delicious and low carb!
The first day May 2007 The yes day April 2012 The best day Nov 2013
@WineAndDogs I use a recipe from a book called Bread and Wine by Shauna Niequiest (HIGHLY recommend!). Here's a screenshot (sorry if it's huge)! The last part is on the third page but that's just to throw in the Parmesan cheese and a few grinds of black pepper.
@DeansGirl14 I thought about it, but more in a way of it would be funny because our office manager and HR were so rude. At that point, you're going to the doctor weekly and getting checked. Realistically, most people don't go into labor super quickly. My sister's doctor told her that less than 25% of women actually have their water break.
@BlackNYellow the only things I wound up needing were sleep sacks because DS wiggled out of his swaddle. I did go to the grocery store on my way home to get my prescriptions and pick up some sandwich stuff and snacks.
To update on what my work said today, is usually women work right up to delivery, and depending on what my boss says (and mine will not care) I can continue working until baby is born, either in office or at home. So I assume I'll work in office up to the week before and then the Monday before my edd I'll work at home until I go into labor. She said they don't start leave until baby is out.

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Regular 18 week appointment rescheduled for Friday (hooray blizzard) A/S was also scheduled today for next Friday - @mrsmatt1212 I get the feeling that because it's not an OB doing the scan the schedule is less packed. They also told me that I'd get a follow up call with the results.
Cravings? Home made meals
Rants/raves? Rant: my back is def injured. Rave 1: heavy snow predicted for tomorrow so snow day!! If the entire town is shutting down, I'm hardly going to be the one person who opens their business Rave 2: SO is in adorable protector mode and spent like 10 minutes telling my uterus what he's gonna teach 'em, then carrying all kinds of heavy and not-so-heavy things around the house to keep me from hurting my back more.
Questions for FTM, STM+? @JWatt5 I'm liking your plan to pass off most daily duties by mid-July. Must incorporate into my still-very-vague maternity plan!
@littlebug2010 Is this a walk-in or just a wide normal closet? Depending on the size of the bedroom, I'd consider pulling off the sliding/folding doors to a wide normal closet and putting the dresser inside it. Otherwise it could be temp storage for your stuff until LO grows up a bit, then a well-organized toy area might work.
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? Risotto is my go-to company meal because it takes so little attention in the stirring phase, but sounds and tastes so impressive. I play around a bit with what to add to it - butternut squash with red pepper flakes, asparagus and peas, and straight-up mushroom are current fave varieties. I'm making it for myself tonight because tomorrow is a snow day
I also really like just roasting a whole chicken with some lemon, herbs and butter.
@mrsmatt1212 the ultrasound tech can't tell you anything really. The way my office does it is I have my ultrasound appt and then an appointment with a doctor right after so the doctor can tell me if anything is concerning. She didn't mention anything so I'm guessing no news is good news.
@DeansGirl14 FTM here but I've heard very few people actually have that "gushing" when their water breaks, even of the smaller percentage who have it happen anyways. I might be jinxing (or blessing) myself into having the fastest labor ever, but usually with first deliveries, labor is long! You're not supposed to go to the hospital until your contractions are 5 minutes apart or something like that. I figure, if I go into labor early and am at work, I'll have time to drive home and meet DH. Closer to my due date, my boss has already said I can work from home.
@WineAndDogs & @secicc12 - I also love PW! I think I remember those cinnamon rolls and made them once at home! Unless she has two different recipes which wouldn't surprise me. The ones I made you sprinkle the cinnamon sugar and some nuts, roll, and cut. I assume there was some butter in there, too, but can't remember. They were awesome!!
@lyse01 it's technically a normal closet, but it's large. For example I have two (master bedroom has 3 closets) and one I hang all my dresses in and have a shoe shelf for all my shoes. The other one I have a cube shelf with 9 slots and put my clothes that don't hang on that. I also have large sweaters hanging on hooks to one side and a second open shelving unit to the other side. And use the top of the cube shelf as a vanity. I just don't know what kinds of storage I should get, or if I should just use it for storing big boxes of diapers and things.
I really just want to have a well organized space, but also know that what is in there will most likely change a lot as the kid gets older and if we add another.

@mrsmatt1212 I had my anatomy scan last week. The ultrasound tech confirmed the baby's sex, and she pointed out what we were looking at on the screen but wouldn't give any specifics except for showing me a screen with all of the measurements including percentiles. At the end of it, the ultrasound tech left the room to check with the radiologist that all of the needed images were there. She then came back in the room and said that I could go home. I asked her if everything looked normal/good. She responded that if something looked concerning then a doctor would have immediately met with me in the room or I would be sent immediately to my OB's office. She then pointed out that there was no doctor with her and that I wasn't being sent to my OB's office, so even though, she couldn't officially tell me how everything looked, she kind of did tell me.
@WineAndDogs and @kvh22 My skin has been awful since getting pregnant. I'm just waiting for a miracle because nothing that I have tried has made much of a difference. I'm glad to know that I am not the only one with pregnancy skin issues.
How far along are you? 19 weeks 5 days
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? I had my anatomy scan last week. It went well. Baby looks healthy! I loved being able to see baby on ultrasound when he actually looks more like a baby.
Cravings? fruit and dairy
Rants/raves? I finally felt baby move! I started feeling movement Friday evening, and it has been increasing every day. Today after lunch, it felt like he was having a dance party.
Questions for FTM, STM+? no questions
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I am really good at reheating food. DH does all of the cooking. I can't remember the last time that I cooked or baked...maybe when I was single several years ago.
@littlebug2010 I'm jealous of all your closet space! @secicc12 I plan to work as long as possible until labor, so I can keep all my time with baby
How far along are you? 15+5
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Not until next week.
Cravings? Still random and changing every day. Chili with lots of cheese sounds good, because of the colder weather.
Rants/raves? Rant: Sleep has been tough this week. Rave: After 2.5 years, DH is finally done working weekends so we will now actually have a day off together! Great timing as we get ready for LO.
Questions for FTM, STM+? None, at the moment.
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? Roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon. Yum!
@MrsVP614 The closet space is part of why we bought this house! There is an amazing storage unit in the basement as well as two large closets on the first floor, and 3 in the master, 1 in the nursery and a bathroom one on the second floor! We might not have a huge house, but the closet space is awesome! Thats why we are having a hard time figuring out how to organize in the best way.

@WineAndDogs my skin has been super dry since being pregnant too! This is what I've found that works for me so far. I use a konjac (sp?) sponge for my face. It really helps to gently get rid of the crusty dry skin. I also use Honest face wash. I try to use all nontoxic things nowadays. But as far as the rest of my body, which is also dry, I use Sol de Janiero's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream. It's supposed to tighten up your bum bum, which i don't think it does - BUT I use it only my dry legs and arms, and it keeps them moisturized and smells amazing! The only toxic thing in it is fragrance, but I love it so much and it works for me.

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? I got the results from my blood work and it sucks. Negative for downs and trisomy, but my AFP is elevated, which is indicative of neural tube defects. But having done IVF, I've had so many scans and it never showed anything. My OB and MFM want it to be redrawn to see if its false positive. But of course I can't help it and I have to plan out every possible scenario. I know I'm not getting an amnio. To me it most likely won't change the course of my pregnancy, so why risk the miscarriage? I hope baby girl is okay. She hardly moves during the u/s and baby boy is so hyper. My friends just say they each have our personalities and that everything will be okay.
Cravings? I'm so happy to see that everyone is craving sweets. I never like sweets and thats all I want. OJ, cake, oreos, brownies. I cut all the juice i drink with seltzer to cut down the sugar intake.
Rants/raves? my family drove me crazy with the who's going to be the godparents question. My sisters are twins so i figured I would have each of them and then my husband would be in charge of the guys. Well my one sister isn't married and she's mad that i won't use her boyfriend as the godfather. She basically said to just use my sister in law and brother in law. This whole conversation took place in BRU btw. -_-
Questions for FTM, STM+? Has anyone had high AFP? What happened? What did OB say?
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I haven't made in a long time, but I love chicken kiev. Its not hard to make, but you have make a compound butter and freeze it ahead of time.
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Anatomy Scan today!! We are having a gender reveal party, so we won't find out the gender until then, we are having them put it in an envelope today
Cravings? No real cravings, but I am now hungry every 3 hours, including during the night
Rants/raves?
Needing to have a serious conversation with my BIL and soon
to be SIL regarding guardianship for our will, but anytime we bring up baby,
they don't seem interested in our child at all, brought up inviting new sister
in law to baby shower and brother in law was like why would you invite her? Umm
because she is going to be your wife and an aunt to our child! They were really
our only choice as my siblings are horrible (sister doesn't even have custody
of kids, my parents do, and brother is not parent material) and DH Sister is
single and only 21.
Questions for FTM, STM+? None this week
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? I make an amazing baked Mac and cheese, it is definitely a favorites of DH!

@DDRGirlie I'm sorry to hear about your AFP results. I've heard stories of levels coming back high and everything being perfectly fine. Especially since you've had so many scans, if they had seem something concerning, they would have brought it up. Fingers crossed it was just a false high!
I wonder if the babies take turns napping and being active - so baby boy is bouncing around and baby girl takes a nap! Don't worry, I'm sure she is just fine and probably moves around as soon as the U/S is over
re: Godparents... UGH. I haven't even thought about this potential drama yet. Kind of obnoxious of your sister to want her bf to be a godparent. That reminds me of wedding drama where people want their boyfriend/girlfriend in all the wedding photos, only to have them break up a few months later. And you're stuck with an album of pics with some random dude. Plus, godparents are a much more serious decision in my opinion - it's not all about the title.
Re: FTM check-in week of 3/13
Any appointments this week or last week?
Cravings? Still on sweets, always sweets.
How far along are you?
19 weeks 5 days
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go?
anatomy scan in an hour!
Cravings?
cape Cod potato chips!
Rants/raves?
rant - I have a cold
rave - anatomy scan in an hour!
Questions for FTM, STM+?
none
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make?
Probably homemade mac and cheese. DH loves it.

Questions for FTM, STM+? At your anatomy scan, do you find anything out right away? I know there won't be an OB in the room for ours, but I feel like I'll want to know! Also asking @Kathryn0903
since you had yours today!
GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make? Gah! That's hard, I love to cook. Maybe risotto? It's a dish that requires a lot of love and wine so probably that!
16 Weeks +
Together: January 2002
Married: May 2008
Baby: August 2017
How far along are you?

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go?
Had a HB check last Monday, it went great! 150 BPM, such an amazing sound
Cravings?
I wouldn't call it a craving per se, but I could eat Special K with red berries all day. I figure there are worse things to indulge in.
Rants/raves?
Rave: Next week is my anatomy scan! Staying team Green but I can't wait to see him/her
Rant: My skin! Help meeeee ladies! It's super dry and splotchy red. I have a tough of rosacea which I used topical Flagyl for, but now it's just getting so dry! Anyone else have this and can recommend a solid moisturizer that will help? I look awful.
Questions for FTM, STM?

GTKY: In your opinion, what's the best meal or dish you make?
I'm more of a baker, to be honest. The cinnamon rolls I make (pioneer woman recipe) are a frequent request. I make really good chili though!

@WineAndDogs - I'm team green, too! My skin is driving me nuts but more acne related than what you're describing so I'm not sure my moisturizer recommendation is applicable. Just wanted you to know you weren't alone with skin issues, though!
1 infant loss
8/17: Our daughter was born
8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass
2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old
4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!

Regular 18 week appointment rescheduled for Friday (hooray blizzard)
A/S was also scheduled today for next Friday - @mrsmatt1212 I get the feeling that because it's not an OB doing the scan the schedule is less packed. They also told me that I'd get a follow up call with the results.
Cravings?
Home made meals
Rants/raves?
Rant: my back is def injured.
Rave 1: heavy snow predicted for tomorrow so snow day!! If the entire town is shutting down, I'm hardly going to be the one person who opens their business
Rave 2: SO is in adorable protector mode and spent like 10 minutes telling my uterus what he's gonna teach 'em, then carrying all kinds of heavy and not-so-heavy things around the house to keep me from hurting my back more.
@littlebug2010 mmmm lemon curd! @DeansGirl14 ha! to reservations

@secicc12 I plan to work as long as possible until labor, so I can keep all my time with baby

How far along are you? I'm 17w6d with twins

Anatomy Scan today!! We are having a gender reveal party, so we won't find out the gender until then, we are having them put it in an envelope today
Cravings?
No real cravings, but I am now hungry every 3 hours, including during the night
Rants/raves?
Needing to have a serious conversation with my BIL and soon to be SIL regarding guardianship for our will, but anytime we bring up baby, they don't seem interested in our child at all, brought up inviting new sister in law to baby shower and brother in law was like why would you invite her? Umm because she is going to be your wife and an aunt to our child! They were really our only choice as my siblings are horrible (sister doesn't even have custody of kids, my parents do, and brother is not parent material) and DH Sister is single and only 21.
