Today my best friend from college came and visited me. She and I went to campus to visit a mutual friend and we bumped into someone that was used to know back during sophomore year. She was a very mean girl, for example, she once bragged to us, "I have a boyfriend, and you don't." And I'm not paraphrasing. Anyways, we stop to catch up with this snooty girl because we are polite people, and I cannot tell you how much joy I got from telling her that I have a good staff job, am married, a house owner, and expecting a baby. Meanwhile, she's single and still in school. I have never felt better.
@Souptin oh ewwww I totally forgot about those pictures. There were lots of those on my last BMB. So PSA ladies, if you have to ask if it's your mucus plug, it probably isn't, and it doesn't matter, labor may or may not happen right after and if you post a picture of said mucus plug, I personally will respond with GIFs. Maybe just maybe at least one rando will use the search function and find this post and stop. Love you all

For real I had only heard about the mucus plug once and I knew exactly what it was when it happened with DS. Nobody wants to see pictures of anything that comes out of any part of your body. End of discussion. Love you too lol

Unless, of course, that thing coming out is a baby. We like pictures of those.

Some of the grammar/spelling on here is flame worthy to me. (Not on this particular thread) I will not be the grammar police, because I know it's annoying, and I know typos happen... especially using mobile, but sometimes I feel like I'm on Facebook.
@MrsVP614 spelling and grammar make me crazy too, I try to do my best and if I see a mistake I usually edit and fix. But it drives me insane when people use "u" and stuff... like it really isn't that hard to type out the whole word!

I just someone post a picture of their kids diaper explosion on Facebook with the caption "we was ready for church. I know some of you can relate". I resisted the urge to say, Nope! I can't relate to bad grammar.
There's a thread on my FB group about the proper etiquette about bringing a gift to a pre-wedding party if one isn't invited to the wedding. She said she wants to give a gift but isn't sure if she should bring it to the engagement party or the stag and doe since she's not invited to the very small wedding.
I want to respond that etiquette is out the window the second there's a stag and doe. She's asking you to pay for a party you're not even invited to. FFFC/OU?: I find stag and does the tackiest things ever. I refuse to go to them although luckily I've only been invited to a few
@HollyGolightly09 it's a party raising money for your wedding. You sell admission tickets, sell drinks, have all kinds of other "fundraiser" type things. People tend to invite everyone they know, not just people invited to the wedding. They also ask for donations for prizes from businesses and stuff like that.

Oh, Wow... that seems tacky anyway, but especially if they're inviting people not invited to the wedding.

That just... wow. That's unbelievably tacky. We know people who have done a "money tree" where people clipped money to a tree of some kind to help pay for the honeymoon, or a dollar dance, where you give the best man/maid of honor cash to dance part of a song with the bride or groom, and even those are a little iffy to me.

Flame me.. DH is Filipino and in their culture they do a money dance. I requested not to do it, but my mother in law brought money anyways. So we had a money dance and it was fun.
At our reception, we had a honeymoon chest that people put money into, but it was out of the way in a corner and we never made an announcement about it. It more of a family tradition because all of the many aunts and uncles want to give the couple a good vacation fund.
I think Stag and Does are regional. Where I grew up (small town) everyone had one, they were just another excuse for the rednecks to get together and get drunk. But when I got married in Toronto in 2012 we didn't even consider it-no one did them there. overall I think they are tacky-can't afford a big wedding? Have a smaller one that you can afford. It shouldn't be up to your guests and friends to pay for your 'day' I feel the same about people who insist on having a baby shower for second, third children. Tacky.
Instead of a traditional registry we did a honeymoon fund. This was my second wedding and my DHs first so we didn't need a bunch of China and pots and pans this time around. Guests and family really liked contributing to it--well that's what they told us. But a stag and doe party sounds pretty tacky, especially when you aren't invited to the wedding. I've never heard of those around where I live.
Belated FFFC? I wouldn't cry about getting a baby shower or sprinkle for our second baby. I didn't get a baby shower for DS so maybe that makes it less tacky? Either way, I don't see one happening.
Sprinkles for additional children are pretty common here and nobody blinks an eye at them. I know that's regional though. Mostly diapers and wipes are gifted and it's more a celebration of a new life rather than showering a new mom with what she wanted.
Stag and doe parties are huge where I am and are expected. In my early 20s i used to always go to all the stags. It was a cheap place to drink and socialize with people you don't see often.
But i can see where others are coming from.
I also dont like the idea of sprinkles. Especially when the mom to be throws her own. Can't afford to buy your child things, don't get pregnant.
