Re: Weekly Random 3/6

  • Anyone able to see the spreadsheet and tell me if all the names and info are present? I just went to take a look and I only see 2 names! I'm not sure if there's just an issue on my end, and if so I'll figure it out, but my heart literally sunk.

  • I suddenly really want to know what baby is! Can't stop thinking about it. I almost want to suggest an elective US.
  • I need some opinions.  Someone at DS preschool has been diagnosed with pin worm.  This is highly contagious, and while not harmful to the baby if I did get I can not take any of the medications. Best case scenario to would take 6 weeks to fully leave my system.  I am keeping DS home until I talk to my Dr. but want opinions I what you would do.   I am a SAHM so I can keep DS home but it would be for at least 2 weeks and that is only if the kid with it is taking medication and no one else gets it.

  • @shyviolet That seems unfair that the kid with pin worm continues to go to pre-school, but your DS would have to stay home. In your situation, I would probably be overly cautious and just keep him home. If your doctor says there's little risk that he'd catch it/give it to you...maybe you could send him back if you feel comfortable. I'm sorry you're in this situation! Sounds stressful.

Also off to google "pin worm"....

  • @shyviolet is the daycare having you pay for the time you are keeping him home? because that would not be ok. I totally understand keeping him away from the situation and wanting to ensure he does't get it, as well as yourself. But daycares near us won't let you bring your kid in with any fever, let alone something contagious like pin worm. If the child with pin worm is being kept home, I would ask the daycare about what they did to clean the room etc. and then decide.

2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old
    4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
  • @shyviolet last summer we stayed with my sister and her family. The following week she called and gave us a heads up that half the family had pinworms for sure and she was treating the other half in case (6 total). She told us what to look out for. We never got it. I thought we would for sure since DD slept in the girl's bedroom, played with all their toys, and of course used their bathrooms.  Yes, it's highly contagious but it's not guaranteed to get it.  That infected kid should be treating them and chances are, your son was already exposed.  Unless your doctor advises otherwise, I'd send him to school.

  • @secicc12 I don't know if the infected kid will be at school but from the sound of the email they sent it seems like they will. We have a preschool meeting tonight so hopefully I will get more info there.

@smallbutmighty77 We go to a co-op preschool and only pay $80 a month so not going is not a huge deal financially.  I do have to volunteer one day a week but if my doctor says not to go the school will be responsible for covering my time not me.  They said they are going to focus on hand washing plus disinfecting the school.

@bumpybump Thanks that makes me feel better.  I am pretty go with the flow but DH can be a bit of worrier about health issues.  He is already worried he has it because TMI his butt was itching and I had to wash all our sheets before he would come to bed.

  • @shyviolet the best thing to do to test DH or anyone is to take a piece of tape and put it up to your butt whole and see if you can see any worms on the tape.  They are the most active at night so they say to do this at bedtime. My sister was able to see a worm once in one of the kid's poop so look at that too if there is itching. And get the over the counter meds for treating if they have it. You don't need the expensive prescription. And when I say "you" I mean your DH and DS. We actually had a scare with DH in November after my BFP that didn't turn out to be pinworms (thank goodness). So I read up on it all pertaining to pregnancy.

  • Pregnancy is supposed to be a time of glowing skin and gorgeous hair... my skin is blah and my hair is limp. I have already made a hair appointment. Any make up recommendations to help me feel gorgeous again?
