You guys are all so super talented!! I love quilting and am trying to finalize the fabric for this little one's quilt. I'll be using this pattern that I used for a friend's baby a few years ago. Our nursery is a tribal theme and I think it'll go well!
I've been much less crafty this time since I have no nursery to decorate, but I made little man some ties and then of course little lady got jealous so I have some half finished matching hair bows for her on the right. I still need to make him a special blanket and burp cloths too.
I finally broke down and bought three yards of linen and some sling rings. I tried on a Sakura Bloom ring sling over the weekend and fell in LOVE. Didn't fall in love with the price tag, however, so I'm making my own. Will post photos when it's done!
Fun thread! I haven't made anything yet but I'm hoping I feel inspired by you all to get my craft on!
I'll be helping (directing) my grams with the quilt for the bedding. I need to go get the fabric but since it's going to be black and white, I'm worried about fading! Anyone have a recommendation on preserving the black! Here's my inspiration photo. other things to make... printable digital signs/art because I can't find what I want. refinish and paint DS1 crib because he chewed it so bad. mobile, who knows what but I made one for DS1 and I like custom stuff. decide if I'm going to reupholster the rocking chair or pay someone, I think pay someone!
My mom just made me a snoogle cover so I didn't be have to spend $30 on one
Did something happen to original cover? I'm afraid to put mine in wash.
no i just wanted something that i could take off and throw in the wash. my mom had the balls to take off the original one, i was too afraid it wasn't going back on so i didn't dare. i haven't washed the original yet but i think it should be fine.
I'm heading to JoAnn's to get supplies to make a nursing cover and a combo nursing/car seat cover! I was also going to buy fabric to make my own wrap, but decided to use muslin I already have and just dye it. I'd like a Solly-style (woven, not stretch) wrap, but I can't justify spending $65 on something that is essentially a long piece of hemmed fabric that I can easily make myself.
FYI: until the end of today, Joann's has two 50% off one item coupons on their website, valid online and in-store!
@lovesclimbing, I attempted to make my own ring sling, but wasn't happy with the results. I definitely agree on the wrap though, it seems silly to spend so much on just fabric!
I love crafting and diys it helps me relax i find after a stressfull day. I wish i could crochet and knit when i was younger my grandmother was going to teach me after she got out of the hospital but she passed away so i never learned, i tried myself and had people offer to try and teach me but i don't think it would be easy for me to let someone teach me. I was hoping to make a baby blanket for this little one hut times a little gone haha. I do have to watch my crafts and try to do budget friendly would love to have a circuit or silhouette machine so i can do more of the crafts i want to. I cant wait to do my dds big girl room and eventually more for this baby but at the moment we are keeping it minimal incase we move. I did make a flower L for above dd2 crib.
