He didn't scream after the last 2 feedings which is good. HE gave my amazing dad a run for his money while mom and I went to the pool BCBS he screamed after his bottle and after his nap which doesn't happen either. My dad is so awesome with him, especially on this trip, it makes my heart ache bc I wish I had a dad like that for B
He has you and your parents. I'm sure he's a lucky guy to have all 3 of you.
@SandNStarsNJ how do you know? I have no idea how to tell
There's no absolute way to tell until they start poking through but the actual teething process starts a few weeks before they break the surface. These are the symptoms we're currently "battling": MAJOR drool with extreme fussiness at night Chewing entire fist Biting down on nipple, my finger, and frozen teething ring Looked relieved when I started poking bottom gums with my nail
Our first kid had her bottom two teeth brake the surface at 4 months. This LO is only just 3 months but he's been ahead on the physical stuff thus far. Then, again, a friend of mine's DD just got her first teeth at 8.5 months. Each to their own!
@Ladybug2821 I did a quick Google search and drooling alone isn't a reliable symptom. Google says they'll drool like this for a lot of reasons: in preparation for solid foods, to prevent sickness since they put everything in their mouths starting now so it helps keep them from swallowing a lot of germs, to aid digestion, etc. But it's totally possible they're drooling because of teeth. I would assume they'd have more symptoms like @SandNStarsNJ said. We're drooling like crazy too but I really, really hope that's not happening now and will live in denial until I see teeth lol
@MrsMaryK2016 I want to live in denial too! S has also been exhibiting the other symptoms that @SandNStarsNJ mentioned. But I'm not ready for teething yet .
I want to read it first! Im on the waitlist for a digital copy from my library. It's a big list. Maybe I'll start it anyway, because I need a new story
I've been watching it! It's funny because I saw all the actresses doing the talk show circuit and they all billed it as a show about women and how we communicate with each other and how we think. Buuut, I would never talk to another woman the way Reece or Laura Lainey's characters talk to people. And certainly no one talks to me like that. I still like it though, I'm intrigued where it's going.

I'm curious too. Though it is a little on the depressing side. And I must admit, I've heard parents speak to one another or about one another like that where I work (North Jersey high school).
Bad mom award for the night... woke up early in the morning thinking it was weird M didn't wake up during the night (he usually wakes up and cries off and on half quietly and goes back to sleep, though night before last I had to go get him) and went back to sleep. I heard little whimpers this morning and realized my monitor sound was off!! Even if he woke up he would have to be throwing a serious fit for me to hear him through his closed door, down the hallway, into our closed door and wake me up. . then to make things better when I opened my door to go to his room one of my dogs was laying by it. Guess I had him locked out of our room all night. Fail.
Made it back home - this flight he also did awesome though a few tiny fusses but nothing bad or actual crying. Though I did have to bust out the emergency bottle when taxing to the gate bc he was getting cranky but technically flight was over by then. He's only cat napped today so now I'm holding him bc trying to put him down for a nap didn't work and he needs a good sleep.
Has anyone else gotten their period back yet? Mine just started today. Yay
I have a Mirena so I'm not supposed to get periods although I think I had some ovulation signs but no bleeding (I know nothing about my body so maybe you don't O on it but it sure seemed like symptoms leading up to it)
I'm on the mini pill which is keeping the period at bay. It's not supposed to be super duper effective but paired with breast feeding it'll do the trick.
@mrsmoose5 so far so good. This is my first IUD. My Dr office and the hospital all really pushed the Mirena so that's why I went with it. I did have bleeding for about 6 weeks from it but it is finally at bay (fingers crossed) and aside from what I think was CM I haven't had anything which is good.
@leighry S lost almost all her hair on top of her head at about 1 month but it started growing back at 2 months and has continued to grow. I read it has something to do with their hair growth cycle and our hormones that they got from us while in utero leaving their body.
@kvruns yes he has a small patch in the back that is thinning out because of how he sleeps but I just randomly noted within the last couple of weeks he is definitely thinning out on top. He is very light hair almost with a red tint so maybe that's why too? Haha it will be so weird of he goes bald!
@Ladybug2821 that is interesting! I didn't know that. Hopefully it will start to come back.
So 4 beers and 3 shots of tequila later, DH tells me that he knows I'm trying to shelter him from some of the tougher stuff with LO because I want a third kid. Just when I thought he didn't realize it...
My SIL picked Rose for the middle name of her new baby. I'm irrationally bummed because I wanted to name our hypothetical second daughter (I don't even have a first daughter yet - see? irrational.) Anna Rose. Guess not now.
@MrsMaryK2016 I hear ya! When my now husband and I were first dating his sister had a little boy they were going to name Alexander Ryan... and I was mad because Ryan was MY name for a daughter (it was my maiden name). Then last minute they switched and named him Ryan Alexander which made me even more upset. We ended up naming our 2nd daughter Ryan anyway because we hardly ever see them and I really loved it. So if you really love it, and maybe they'll be far enough apart in age and or distance that it will be okay!
@leighry Unfortunately/fortunately we are a very tight knit family and they live 15 minutes away. It would be really weird if we chose the same name. Honestly I just need to let it go (see what I did there?); plenty of names go with Anna and not a lot really flow with their chosen first name.
Omg I'm at my wits end. LO is fussing a ton and I can barely put him down. He just wants to be bounced while I stand and my back is killing me. He's having some big toots so I think maybe he's having gas issues too.
What a great last day before I go back to work lol
@kvruns that was LO yesterday while I was at the grocery! I got a text, "She won't stop crying" - which is not her at. all. ever. So I call DH super worried... He was being dramatic. Anyway, by the time i got home she had a huge blowout (the poor Boppy lounger....) Hope you don't get a blowout but hope he feels better after a nice poo Have a good first day back at work!
Previous questions.. - No period yet. EBF and no birth control. - We call her "old man emoji" because she has a fairly thick ring of hair on the bottom of her head but she's more sparse up top.
