Those patches are crazy! I had to wear 3 (estrogen) and they left a residue - olive oil worked best but wait to do that until your totally done wearing them because they won't stick well if you oil before putting on. I know that seems like common sense but even after I showered they still didn't want to stick well! Oh, and they burned my skin - seriously - I guess I was allergic but we kept going on these for 4 weeks! They're off now and I've replaced that b*tch with needle marks. I still have red patchy skin all over my tummy. Oh what we go through!

AFM: Just got the call and Beta is final negative per the nurse, certainly took long enough! i'm good to go with my patches Is it strange that i have mixed emotions. I guess I'm excited and nervous to start all at the same time. Its tough as my bday is in March and I was finally pregnant I already knew what to wish for when blowing out those candles...so its bitter sweet for me. Now It looks like I'll be most likely stemming or something...hopefully now that will be the best birthday gift right! I think I'm scared to go in for my baseline too. When I went for the sono the RE only saw 3 resting follies on the right and then the left had the mature follicle growing. It terrifies that a year ago my AFC was 6 and 8. It hasn't been that high since....why the RE thinks i'm more DOR then before I know it is what it is and i need to put my big girl panties on and get through it. And I shall mention my job sucks ass this week so theres that too!!

@Hopeful_mom. How was your appt? I didn't use patches. I was on suppositories. I'm sorry about the jeans. All the hormones and everything we put out bodies through is hard. Don't be too hard on yourself. It will be warm soon, so maybe that will help you feel better and/or allow you time to go for a walk. I'm praying this is the cycle for you.

@kp214- thanks for asking! Just waiting to ovulate. I went in on cd17 and I still hadn't which is weird for me, so going in tomorrow (cd19) for an US and BW again to see what's going on. I think the estrogen after transfer suppressed me and I just ovulated on day 17. I'm doing the same protocol, since we got a good response, just not the right egg. Going to get at least 8 mature again and hopefully one good one!

@JamieH2000 I have bloodwork tomorrow and most likely ultrasound Friday. I'll probably start Garnilix on Friday. At this point I have no clue how it's going! At baseline I had 6 AFC on the right and at least 3 on the left. The left one has been the troublemaker producing dominant follicle but I'm hoping that the estrogen priming has that under control but won't know until U/S. I am positive I've got this - I'm going to rock this cycle! (Positive affirmations).

Funny you mention the golden birthday, I first heard about that after it happened, Oh well I'll just have to make a new one. When I turned 40 everyone wanted to throw me a party but I just wasn't in the head for it and many didn't know I was turning 40, so why announce it If people still think i'm 33 i'm going with it These are suppose to be the best days so hoping that they can start being just that!! It still amazes me that on your may IUI you had 5 follies, I bet then when you thought doing IVF you would get a bunch more. I had 3 follies for a scheduled IUI and of course had a family emergency and missed the cycle altogether. I was so FURIOUS!! But excited I got 3, I thought for sure once I started IVF and had major meds it would go up but not really ugh hoping this EPP will do the trick! I did freak when half the patch came off, but glad its now sticky again, a lil itchy but i'll manage

@hopeful_mom- glad to hear you are getting started!! Keep those patches On!! When do you expect AF? I had BW and US yesterday and still haven't ovulated in day 19 which never happens for me! My follie is also on my bad ovary so wondering if that's why it's taking so long. I feel like all the drugs from the tww after the transfer suppressed me a ton and this cycle is going to be long. Going on Tuesday for BW to hopefully confirm ovulation so guessing I won't start patches until next weekend and then AF the week after that. So much waiting in this process!!

@JamieH2000 ultrasound will be Saturday. Bloodwork yesterday put my E2 at 117, so they wanted me to go another 2 days of stims hoping I'll continue to double. It's on the low side but doctor said it's to be expected because of my low AMH. I should be adding in Garnilix tomorrow.

Had ultrasound this morning. I am progressing well. Saw 6 measurable follies and there was at least another one he thinks was hiding behind a larger one. I have another U/S Tuesday and ER planned for Friday. I'll take it!

@kp214 So glad things r going well for u!! so exciting! AF came before my beta was negative BUT luckily on this last visit it was yay!! I actually meant with the PGS dr and she really made a lot of good points. Its hard because OH wants to do it and i really was worried about them hurting the embryo and ruining them BUT the dr really did but my worries a bit more at ease. I also want to do a fresh transfer and then that takes away the pgs testing. SO i'm still torn, I should be banking because IF something goes wrong my eggs aren't getting any younger. Lastly today i just got a bill for the testing of baby B, and its $6,600 so I'm still in shock over that...for one. I still don't even understand how that it possible AND I don't think insurance is covering it which makes no sense. Its just INSANE! the PGS testing is less then that for more then one...so why after the fact is it so much!!! It really comes down to how my body produces this cycle. I'm doing the EPP and starting with the first patch on. They assume my AF should be here in about 2 weeks so we shall see.
@jamieh2000 day 19 hmmmm that is late, hopefully with the suppression will just makes you stinger this round. Read above about my latest bill, i'm just beyond. Hi! Can I join here or is it not appropriate? My amh is 3.6 but my re says they are of extremely poor quality- and I have the cps and poor responses to prove it! It's hard because I have no diagnosis so there is no where I belong. I belong with low amh more than any other group even though my numbers do not tell the full story. My amh is pretty ok but my eggs are actually terrible beyond awful and I don't produce hardly any. I understand if you guys don't feel comfortable with me based off of my number (which tells us nothing really- other than I have some terrible eggs left).

@Hopeful_mom glad you are starting the estrogen patches. I'm sorry about the bill. That's crazy! Maybe with the PGS testing, just wait until after retrieval to decide. Could you transfer the best one and send the rest to be tested? I'm really glad we did the testing since half of our's were abnormal and wouldn't have survived. But I definitely understand the financial concern and wanting to do a fresh transfer.
@mandasand this sounds like a fantastic cycle for you! You may have even more pop up, but may be smaller.

@hopeful_mom- wow, that bill is insane and unacceptable. Praying so hard you can get insurance to cover it. I am so glad you will get started in a few weeks and I think it makes a lot of sense to make each decision (like PGS) one step at a time when you see how it's going. Hopefully EPP will be your magic ticket, it has sure seemed to work better for a lot of us!
AFM, just hanging out and hoping I have ovulated!! I've been in Denver all weekend visiting my sister and having fun. Went skiiing yesterday and it was so nice to just be in the beautiful mountains. Enjoying the fact I could go fast and have beers and do things I can't do when I'm hopefully pregnant soon. The last 1.5 years have been so consumed with IF that I really need to try to get away more and remember there are still good things in life..

@JamieH2000 l'll be doing a fresh transfer. My levels are not high so I don't have that to contend with - lining may be an issue but I think I'll start back on vivelle 3x after retrieval, the estrogen really made me have a plump lining last month. I'm so glad you're getting some time to have fun and spend with your family! I really wanted to go to see my parents this month but it doesn't look like I'll be able to with a retrieval and transfer around the corner. On the 31st I fly to DC for work. A year ago on March 27 (Easter Sunday) my dad had a double lung transplant - such an amazing miracle. I actually was there that weekend since I have an office where they live and so went early to spend Easter with my parents when we got the call from UCSF that dad had a set of lungs that matched! I really wanted to be with him to celebrate his "1 year re-birth-day" but I'll hopefully plan a trip after I get back from DC. I'm hoping his miracle last year will be my miracle this year!

@JamieH2000 Girl, you are telling my story! H & I had a long convo Friday night about how we have to stop living in this stop/go/cut out everything fun mentality. Everything since 2015 has been tainted or seen through this negative IF filter and it just can't be healthy for us! I'm glad you were able to relax and enjoy your time with your sister in Denver!
AFM, I'm on CD27, which is the longest non-medicated cycle I've had since I started tracking. Chalk one win up for acupuncture and TCM! I can't start anything this month as I am traveling at the end of the month for work so that won't work with stims. I should have one more unmedicated cycle and then start BCPs in early April.
@kp214 you've always been my kind of gal right now i've been thinking like that, put in the best looking and send the rest for testing. But when have i ever made that much in a cycle for that...praying cycle 4 will finally be just that!!
@20T@jamieh2000 I'm in the same boat and its great you guys can do that, you still have some years on your side...for me I just can't. I have fun moments with OH and family. Friends I used to have tons and its the same as low amy, its not quantity, its quality I was suppose to go away with friends and then I couldn't and we haven't spoken since. I know you're right and good times should continue its just very hard, and all these bills piling up is not making it any easier. I can't afford this, how can i afford going any where....enough about that. I'm glad acupuncture is working for you, my dr told me to come start again once i'm on cycle day 2.

@jamieh2000 i know have to go call the insurance company and stay on hold for an hour before even speaking to someone, ugh this sucks and i'm so pissed!! I keep telling myself its only money, this is just too much for testing one embryo. Do you know if you ovulated yet?
I don't know about any of you but I feel like i have to stop watching TV. Was watching Chicago Med last night and one of the nurses are pregnant over 1/2 way through the pregnancy and then during the next US, no heartbeat and then D&C, I about threw up and couldn't stop crying. I just feel like every drama lately always has something involving babies. And yes I know i shouldn't have been watching a hospital show, what should i expect.

@hopeful_mom- I hear you on the money thing... I felt guilty for spending the $$ this weekend. It was nice to have an excuse to visit my sister because she really wanted me to come see her new house. Its definitely a balance between saving and being responsible, and spending a little on fun to keep your sanity. I hear you about the TV shows lately! everyone is pregnant! or maybe we are just super aware
I go in for my ovulation check tomorrow.. day 24... this is the weirdest cycle ever.. I normally get AF between day 25-27. I really think all the estrogen and progesterone they had me up after transfer really suppressed me or something. Or maybe I had a cyst and it delayed things.. o well.. sick of waiting and ready to get this show on the road. Today I was having one of those.. maybe I should give up days if this doesn't work.... just feeling trapped in my job since I need the insurance and the $$ and getting burnt out. There has to be more to life.. maybe it doesn't involve a child? I don't know.. just in a funk I guess...

I'm going to stim one more day and retrieval on Sunday. I have decided to move forward. I started with 11-12 follies and now have 3 pretty good ones so while I wish I had more, I still want to go for it. This is my last chance using my eggs and I have never even made it to a retrieval so I figure I might as well do it.

I had three and I got one healthy pgs tested embryo and that's with only one ovary. Best of luck!

In 2015 I was 35...Found out I had only one working ovary, which was DOR, with scar tissue and I ovulated at 7 days, with a small cervix opening and a tilted uterus... Needing an RE was a must.....IUI#1 Sept 2015,,, BFN IUI#2 Oct 2015,,,BFN IUI#3 Dec 2015,,BFN IVF#1 2/1/16- BFN IVF# on 3/29/16 retrieval only - 1 healthy chromosome tested embryo. IVF#3 retrieval 4/23/16- 0 healthy embryos. IVF#4 retrieval 6/17/16- 1 healthy embryo. FET#1-Transferred Both Healthy Embryos on 9/6/16 BFP!! 9/15/16 Beta 22.3, 9/17/16 Beta 60.5 & 9/19/16 Beta 195! 1st US on 9/23/16, only 1 Gast Sac & Yolk Sac found, US 9/30/16 US 6wk 1day saw and heard Heartbeat 120bpm!! EDD 5/25/2017 Had a healthy baby girl via CSection on 5/18/17 8lbs 15oz. Then four months later got pregnant naturally and had a healthy baby boy on 6/13/18 7lbs 6oz (at age 38). Needless to say, anything is possible! I'm keeping my signature open so it gives someone out there hope that anything is possible. @LSatturo126 thank you! I'm not doing pgs testing since I don't have any genetic conditions and have never had a miscarriage. IVF is costing us $3950 with the Navy which is a bargain but pgs costs an additional $4400 so we decided against it.

I dont know if I should switch this one or not. See these wieght I gained is making it worse on my tummy..I have no clue. Hoping the meds are still finding its way in

@Hopeful_mom you have to find just the right spot, right above your panty line but below your pant line so that it doesn't get all squished from your underwear or your pants. I know, it's stupid but they tend to curl up on the edges and wrinkle. When you apply, use some alcohol pads to make sure there's no oil for the skin, then press on it for a while. The patch will still lift around the edges but it should still stay on. Don't fuss with it! Also, it burned my skin bad when I applied on the thinner part of my waist so try and pick that sweet spot by your belly button where skin is more supple. Alternate sides when you change the patch.

@mandasand- hoping for good news at your ultrasound today! It is a hard call. If you were to cancel, what would the RE try differently? The only thing I can think of higher doses of stims... I have been on 450 of follistim and 150 of menopur and that is really the amount I needed to get almost all my follies to grow. But I also think you have come this far, and you won't know until you retrieve...
@hopeful_mom- I hope the patches get better! What brand are you on? I was on the estradiol patches and my issue was getting them off! Maybe there is a stickier brand you could try?

@Hopeful_mom sorry about the patches. I was on the estrogen pill and was told to use it as a vaginal suppository. Good luck with them. I'm sorry I can't offer any help.

@kp214- thanks for asking! Just waiting to ovulate. I went in on cd17 and I still hadn't which is weird for me, so going in tomorrow (cd19) for an US and BW again to see what's going on. I think the estrogen after transfer suppressed me and I just ovulated on day 17. I'm doing the same protocol, since we got a good response, just not the right egg. Going to get at least 8 mature again and hopefully one good one!

@hopeful_mom- glad to hear you are getting started!! Keep those patches On!! When do you expect AF? I had BW and US yesterday and still haven't ovulated in day 19 which never happens for me! My follie is also on my bad ovary so wondering if that's why it's taking so long. I feel like all the drugs from the tww after the transfer suppressed me a ton and this cycle is going to be long. Going on Tuesday for BW to hopefully confirm ovulation so guessing I won't start patches until next weekend and then AF the week after that. So much waiting in this process!!

@kp214 So glad things r going well for u!! so exciting! AF came before my beta was negative BUT luckily on this last visit it was yay!! I actually meant with the PGS dr and she really made a lot of good points. Its hard because OH wants to do it and i really was worried about them hurting the embryo and ruining them BUT the dr really did but my worries a bit more at ease. I also want to do a fresh transfer and then that takes away the pgs testing. SO i'm still torn, I should be banking because IF something goes wrong my eggs aren't getting any younger. Lastly today i just got a bill for the testing of baby B, and its $6,600 so I'm still in shock over that...for one. I still don't even understand how that it possible AND I don't think insurance is covering it which makes no sense. Its just INSANE! the PGS testing is less then that for more then one...so why after the fact is it so much!!! It really comes down to how my body produces this cycle. I'm doing the EPP and starting with the first patch on. They assume my AF should be here in about 2 weeks so we shall see.
@jamieh2000 day 19 hmmmm that is late, hopefully with the suppression will just makes you stinger this round. Read above about my latest bill, i'm just beyond. @hopeful_mom- wow, that bill is insane and unacceptable. Praying so hard you can get insurance to cover it. I am so glad you will get started in a few weeks and I think it makes a lot of sense to make each decision (like PGS) one step at a time when you see how it's going. Hopefully EPP will be your magic ticket, it has sure seemed to work better for a lot of us!
AFM, just hanging out and hoping I have ovulated!! I've been in Denver all weekend visiting my sister and having fun. Went skiiing yesterday and it was so nice to just be in the beautiful mountains. AFM, I'm on CD27, which is the longest non-medicated cycle I've had since I started tracking. Chalk one win up for acupuncture and TCM! I can't start anything this month as I am traveling at the end of the month for work so that won't work with stims. I should have one more unmedicated cycle and then start BCPs in early April.

@jamieh2000 i know have to go call the insurance company and stay on hold for an hour before even speaking to someone, ugh this sucks and i'm so pissed!! I keep telling myself its only money, this is just too much for testing one embryo. Do you know if you ovulated yet?
I don't know about any of you but I feel like i have to stop watching TV. Was watching Chicago Med last night and one of the nurses are pregnant over 1/2 way through the pregnancy and then during the next US, no heartbeat and then D&C, I about threw up and couldn't stop crying. I just feel like every drama lately always has something involving babies. And yes I know i shouldn't have been watching a hospital show, what should i expect.

@20T- I really hope you can find some fun activities on these non medicated months! Maybe you will get your own miracle. I feel like I see that happen a decent amount.. but never to me of course haha. Stay in touch and let us know how things are going. Did your RE ever consider doing estrogen priming instead of birth control? It really helped me a lot! Maybe you already tried that- I can't quite keep track always
@hopeful_mom- I hear you on the money thing... I felt guilty for spending the $$ this weekend. It was nice to have an excuse to visit my sister because she really wanted me to come see her new house. Its definitely a balance between saving and being responsible, and spending a little on fun to keep your sanity. I hear you about the TV shows lately! everyone is pregnant! or maybe we are just super aware
I go in for my ovulation check tomorrow.. day 24... this is the weirdest cycle ever.. I normally get AF between day 25-27. I really think all the estrogen and progesterone they had me up after transfer really suppressed me or something. Or maybe I had a cyst and it delayed things.. o well.. sick of waiting and ready to get this show on the road. Today I was having one of those.. maybe I should give up days if this doesn't work.... just feeling trapped in my job since I need the insurance and the $$ and getting burnt out. There has to be more to life.. maybe it doesn't involve a child? I don't know.. just in a funk I guess...

@JamieH2000 the meds can really mess with your cycle. I know you are ready. I know we've all had days where we wonder if it's time to move on. I did the same thing after the 3rd cycle. Hang in there.

@hopeful_mom- I hope the patches get better! What brand are you on? I was on the estradiol patches and my issue was getting them off! Maybe there is a stickier brand you could try?
